    connor wasn’t even supposed to still be here. his shift technically ended over an hour ago, but he was majorly behind on paperwork. he wouldn’t be able to sleep until his desk was clutter-free again. he’s only got a few pages left when officer wilson approaches his desk. ‘guess who we just brought in?’ it wasn’t that rian was at the station often, but more that connor dragged him along to social events. ‘he was cleared by paramedics. we’re holding him in cell two.’ ❝ you’re joking. ❞ connor’s cheeks turn red and hot, jaw clenches as wilson goes over the details. 

    he knows he should take a moment to calm down, but he’s up and out of his seat before he can even think straight. a quick fingerprint gains him access into the cell. luckily, they’re mostly sound proof— ❝ are you FUCKING kidding me? ❞ connor stomps straight into the room, and he doesn’t hold back. ❝ they said the bullet grazed your head! your fucking head! where is your head?! ❞ the moment he sees rian start to stand up from the bed he immediately pushes him back down by his shoulders. ❝ people are fuckin’ insane and you go around trying to pick fights. grow up. ❞
