The message lights up Roier's communicator, and the spider-hybrid pauses his construction.

He hums, pulling out his warpstone and tracing the runes he knows will teleport him to the Favela.

Quick work is made of descending into Ordo Theoritas, and when the door opens at his presence, he walks straight towards the Intelligence sector.

All Roier needs to do is glance into the first doorway, and there's Cellbit, clearly a stormy world away as he stares at the drawings of the eggs in the maze, arms crossed.

(He can almost see the gears turning in his husband's head. If only they had something, anything.)

"Cellbo?"

No response.

(He's more than a world away, it seems.)

So, Roier approaches slowly. "Gatinho?"

The investigator startles, then, jolting back to reality as his head turns sharply. Roier can't help a slight laugh. "Sorry, sorry. Lost in thought there, man?"

Cellbit attempts a smile, but even around him it only lasts a few seconds before it drops, and he sighs. "I- Yeah. I just- yeah."

Roier contemplates bringing up the reason why he's here, but when he figures his humorous comment won't land, he lets it go. Instead, he silently closes the distance between them, one arm wrapping around Cellbit's back as the other hand goes to the back of his husband's head, guiding it down to his shoulder.

Cellbit melts immediately, embracing him tightly. He nearly falters on his feet, but the spider-hybrid is right there, supporting his weight.

(Roier won't let him fall.)

(Roier won't let him go.)

He exhales shakily, and he could cry at the gentle way Roier's hand runs up and down his back, subconsciously holding him even tighter still.

How is it possible, to love someone so much? How is it possible to fall in love with the same person, over and over and over again?

(A tear falls. He caves. Roier won't let him go.)
