Service workers and nurses deserve a million times more respect than they're given and deserve better conditions and pay but also service workers and nurses be nicer to disabled people challenge
#it's not that uncommon for service workers to treat me like an idiot child even after i tell them i'm hard of hearing#like i think if you continue to be mean to me after i explicitly tell you i'm disabled and need help understanding you#you could probably stand to be a little more compassionate#save your ire for bitchy customers who CAN help how annoying they're being and just refuse to#also establishments stop playing music so loud you have to shout to be heard challenge#maybe most people can overhear you over the music but to me it's just a bunch of white noise#i actively avoid places that have a history of playing music too loud bc it directly impacts how accessible a place is#i've noticed people have a tendency to treat customers who are bitchy on purpose better than customers who need genuine accommodations#i think cause the bitchy ones will actively fight back and make a stink more often than a disabled person just trying to get by will#also that's not even talking about nurses too many of whom will literally abuse disabled patients
