thinking about a sentiment i've seen expressed once or twice about loki's change of manner in the loki show - specifically, that you can make it in-character if you just read it as: he has "dropped the royal persona" and what we see now is "the real loki".

and like... i don't know. like sure valid reading whatever. but it honestly makes me kind of uncomfortable, and just, like... sad.

like... there wasn't anything wrong with his mannerisms before. like, sure, he was (and is.) paranoid and insecure, but i really don't think that being quiet and deliberate in how you express yourself in general is necessarily unhealthy, or that being louder and less careful is necessarily an improvement.

it kind of reminds me of like... when people call RP a "fake"/"artificial"/"made-up" accent? like, yes, social pressures mean a lot of people put it on, exaggerate it, cultivate it, et cetera... but at the end of the day it is still just another accent. it is still some people's mother tongue, and therefore, by most people's standards, those people's most authentic voice.

and like, similarly - just because loki has xyz trauma reasons to be quiet and formal doesn't mean that his ideal self is necessarily not quiet and formal. some people just are that way! some people prefer it! this is a real personality trait that exists! and honestly even if it IS unhealthy, after a certain point, things like that can go so deep into your personality that you can't really untangle them, and if you DO want to change them, you're not uncovering a hidden "real you" so much as inventing a new one.

also i feel like pre-ragnarok we were definitely meant to understand loki's mannerisms as being as much a product of culture as of his specific personality or home life, and the way almost everyone treats ragnarok asgardian mannerisms as "realer" because they're closer to (/basically are) modern anglo-american norms also makes me uncomfortable... but it might be somewhat unfair to put this on the loki show when they were already three movies deep in ragnarok canon. (but also. loki's outward manner is much *more* changed in the loki show than in ragnarok itself.)

boy just got home from a long schedule, when he hears faint sobs coming from inside of your faint bedroom. he was about to call your name to ask what was wrong but instead he hears your voice.

"there was another girl with him, ___. what if he's-", your voice trailed off not wanting to think of the worst of possibilities. mark would instantly guess you were talking about him, because he did see you come to greet him today, and before he could call out your name you left. was it because you saw him with his makeup artist? the older sister he was kinda close to.

he pushes the door open, finding you on your shared bed, your phone pressed to your ear and hot tears streaming down your pretty face. his heart cries at the sight of you crying. noticing him you end the call with your best friend refusing to meet his eyes.

"Baby, is everything okay?"

no answer. mark lets out a soft sigh, walking closer to take a seat next to you on the bed. his hands instantly reach for your's holding them like he never wants to let go, not even in a million years. 

"If you're worried about the girl you saw me with in the morning, don't be. I have my eyes only for you, and the makeup artist is like my older sister. baby, I love you. nothing else, or no one else can change that"

bro just took a shower and walked out of the toilet, a towel wrapped around his torso, and a t-shirt covering his top. his hair was wet, which he purposefully didn't dry because he wanted you to do it. he loves it when you do that for sure. so, when he's walking to you, you who were in the kitchen preparing food for both of you, he hears your soft sobs.

he watched your back wondering what you were so upset about, and he recieves his answer is less than a second. "what if she likes him? they looked so close", your voice said quietly. you were mindful he was inside taking a shower, so you kept your voice as low as you could. 

shaking his head, he walks up to you wrapping both his arms around your waist definitely startling you a little cause you jumped in your place a little. unlocking your phone, he ended your call with your best friend without even saying anything. and you didn't protest, it was better to talk it out with him than complain and cry about it to your friend.

"love, that's disappointing. but I don't want you to worry about anyone else. just because I am close to them doesn't mean something is actually going on. I love you and no one else so please", he mumbled from next to your ear.

you let out a sigh apologising for ever doubting him. boy forgives you easily cause how can he ever stay mad at his girl, hmm..

it isn't everyday that you were over to visit jeno, nor was it everyday that he hears you cry to your best friend on the phone. you were too busy pouring out your feelings that you didn't notice, your boyfriend standing behind you in the toilet of your house.

jeno sighed slightly, knocking on the door you locked yourself and waited. hearing a faint knock, you ended the ongoing call with your best friend, wiped your tears off with the back of your hand before opening the door.

as soon as your eyes landed on jeno, you smiled slightly hoping on the inside you don't burst out crying. jeno didn't say anything but just walked inside and locked the door behind him. his hands reached to cup your face, making you look right into his love filled eyes which instantly filled you with guilt.

"Baby, I want you to talk to me. tell me what's wrong. can you do that for me, hmm?"

you nodded not being able to say no to him. "I was just- jealous of how close you and __ are", you whispered ashamed of yourself. how can you let jealousy get this far? jeno chuckled softly leaning in to kiss the top of your head. 

"I don't want you to worry about anything, sweetheart. I love you and only you with all my heart, so don't let anything like this make you upset hmm?"

you nod again. "I want to hear you speak, darling", he said still having your face in his hands. you flushed slightly at the string of nicknames he has been calling you until now, but nonetheless giving in, "I promise, and I'm sorry"

the moment you start giving him the silent treatment he knew something was wrong. those suspicions were confirmed as soon as he heard soft sobs coming from inside your room that you barely used.

he wasn't meant to eavesdrop but he did anyway because what was bothering you so much, that you didn't even share it with him. pressing his ear to the closed door, he tried his hardest to decipher your words.

"He's touchy with everyone, I know but I don't know with her it felt different", you mumbled defensive about your feelings. you were most likely sure you were over thinking it but either way it was a fact that your feelings were hurt.

as soon as he heard you say those words, boy is gonna barge in. you have to end your call otherwise he wouldn't be okay with it. when you do, he's gonna sit next to you, hold your hands, kiss your fingers.

"I love you, my love. I don't want you worrying about anything. if me being close to my manager makes you uncomfortable, I'll stay farther away", he firmly states his voice loud and firm.

you smile slightly resulting in him jumping on top of you and drowning you in kisses.

he never wants you to doubt what you two share, he always made it clear enough for you to hear but you couldn't help but feel inferior to everyone else that was around him. it was jaemin after all, the man with charms.

so when you encountered a girl touching his arm in whatever way it maybe, you weren't shocked, you were just upset. what if what you saw was real, and that you were actually just there in his life made your heart hurt.

sure you were making assumptions which is why you called your bestfriend to find out her opinion, which was a bad choice because as quickly as you started speaking you broke down.

jaemin who returned from a long day of practise, called your name out. when he recieved no response, he came knocking to your bedroom door, only to find you struggling to speak, tears all over.

crouching in front of you, he held you arms. "Is everything okay?". you nod not wanting to ruin his day by talking about your pointless worries. but it was jaemin, he pressed in wanting to get an answer from you.

when you tell him all you feel, pour your heart out all he's gonna do is pull you into a soft kiss, a kiss that would be enough to tell you how much you mean to him.

as soft it may be, you were still upset about something. so much that you were crying. "tell me I'm tripping, but what if they do have something going on?". as you say those words, he pushes the door open barging in, not caring if your friend was on call, or if you were crying.

stands tapping his feet so that you'd end the call, so that he can finally have the conversation you need to be having with him instead of going to your bestfriend. of course he's up for you sharing your problems, but wouldn't like it as much when you complain instead of communicating.

would hold your face, clicking his tongue because as much as he loves you, you doubting him is absolutely absurd. patiently explains how you shouldn't worry so much.

"I love you, y/n. you're everything, so please never think I'd be cheating or you, or misunderstand".

you'd nod ashamed. boy is gonna order food, and then yall will be cuddling watching a film or something cuddling each other.

listens in, to find out the actual reason. would actually wait until you're done taking to your friend to talk to you, because he actually needs to prepare what he needs to say. would be very firm with his words even though he's shy usually.

you'd walk out wiping your tears, to make food for both of you. holds your tiny hands in his, rubbing them softly, comforting your heart a little by doing so. would be very honest with his feelings, like wouldn't even be able to speak proper sentences.

"I love you...um, so you don't have to worry about anyone else. it would nice if you could..uh trust me, because I trust you".

is awkward for the rest of the day because he wants to give you your space, but you'd give in apologising for your meaningless worries, before yall go back to cuddling.

god i don’t even know i don’t even watch spn, i just know the three main characters names and general gist - i just love the memes involving it AND AT FIRST I WASNT GONNA EVEN GIVE CONTEXT SINCE I SHOULDNT SPEAK on something i Do NoT watch and never have watched ...but people enjoy outsiders relaying info so they can laugh at our expense and correct us for not noting every single detail we didn’t ask for or care about in the first place. This is ALL BASED ON TUMBLR POsTs AND NOTHING MORE:

• Supernatural is some show on the CW starring brothers named Sam and Dean (who hunt demons i think), and they got a bud named Castiel who’s an angel or somethin’— and has been airing for a decade

• Dean x Cas is a popular ship

• Said ship was teased constantly for nearly 15 seasons via showrunners, actors, etc etc (to my knowledge this was deliberate but idfk)

• no one REALLY expected it to become canon as far as i can tell

• fandom hit peak in 2012

• November 5th 2020: the not-finale happens and Cas confesses his love for Dean. He is swerved and sent to turbohell. [Side note: on this same night a rumor broke out regarding Putin resigning. So putin is now lumped into this ]. DESTIAL CANON and everyone loses their minds

• everyone yells about it being canon but also not really [p.s the ep after that doesnt matter too much in the meme realm] it somehow managed to be both pride and ‘no homo’ at the same time

• cut to November 19th: the true series finale airs. Cas is nowhere to be seen because being mentioned = having to face Dean reciprocating in some way. Sam has an ugly old man wig. A car goes to heaven. Cas spared from turbohell offscreen in an ep he doesnt appear in despite being a cast mainstay for a decade. DESTIAL NOT CANON? Riot ensues

• cut to. I guess the other day and the spanish dub (latin america) airs for the not-finale destiel confession episode. In that dub Dean actually reiprocates his feelings for Cas. DESTIAL RE-CANON’D [complete side note: people not knowing the difference between spain and latin america slapped me in the face more than it should] RIOT ENSUES

• also some stuff about the CW, censorship, confusing twitter threads, deans actor having the confession scene unedited on his phone ????, executive meddling??, actors being iffy on the finale, other stuff, i dont really look at this it’s none of my business

• im only invested in the rollercoaster of memes as a result of being an outlier of such a giant ass ship since finding out that random CW show i only knew of in passing back in 2012 had a giant fandom
