🌟 Stardew Mods #3: Animals, Animals, Animals! 🌟

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I made one of these mod masterposts (#1, #2), but I’ve started playing Stardew Valley again recently, so I figured I’d try to share some more of my favorite mods with you guys. For this post, I’ll be focusing on animals of all sorts - from livestock to critters! 

Essentials:

SMAPI - needed to use Stardew Valley mods

Content Patcher - needed to run mods with Content Patcher dependency

Paritee’s Better Farm Animal Variety (BFAV) - needed for mods that add more animals to the game (as opposed to simply retexturing existing ones)

Livestock: 

🌟 Wee Highland Coos - replaces vanilla cows with adorable Highland cows (XNB mod)

🌟 Elle’s Coop Animal Replacements - provides a ton of options for replacing vanilla chicken, rabbit, and duck species/coloring 

🌟 Elle’s Barn Animal Replacements - lots of options for replacing vanilla cow, goat, and pig species/coloring (including deer, alpacas, and horned goats)

🌟 Elle’s Horse Replacements - lots of options for recoloring the vanilla horse to look like different horse breeds (including  a unicorn retexture too!)

🌟 Pigeons and Doves - replaces chickens with grey pigeons and white doves (XNB mod)

🌟 BFAV Crows - adds crows as a coop animal, includes an optional file that makes crows produce pearls and driftwood

🌟 Cuter Fatter Cows, Sheep, Pigs, and Goats - exactly what it sounds like (XNB mods)

🌟 Friendly Magical Vegan Truffle Bears - replaces pigs with truffle-hunting bears (XNB version here)

Pets:

🌟 Ragdoll cat replacements - replaces the vanilla cat with a ragdoll cat, features lots of color options

🌟 Yet another dog mod - lots of options for replacing the vanilla dog (including corgi, borzoi, cocker spaniel, and more)

🌟 Tokiri’s Pet Replacements - lets you replace the vanilla dog with a fox, vanilla horse with a wolf, or vanilla cat with a red panda (XNB mod)

🌟 A Weird Cat - replaces the vanilla cat with a possum

Miscellaneous: 

🌟 Mi’s and Eemie’s Butterflies - replaces vanilla butterflies with beautiful detailed butterflies (Note: this links to an unofficial update for Content Patcher, click through to the Nexus mod page to see the butterfly designs!) 

🌟 Cat and dog at the same time - not a mod, but a simple guide to editing your save file to give yourself more than one pet!

🌟 Junimos to Totoros - replaces junimos with chibi-Totoros (Note: this links to an unofficial update for Content Patcher, click through to the Nexus mod page to see what the Totoros look like!)

🌟 Elle’s Critter and Butterfly Replacements - allows you to replace some of the animals that pop up around town with new species of butterflies, squirrels, and birds
