ive started a playlist of songs that sample nixon and its awesome

when i told my sister this morning i was like. "so yeah i now know a couple more songs that sample im not a crook :^)" and she was like. "wait thats HIM????" and i was like "yeah... obvi"

and she told me she had the tv girl song on her playlist. and she knew it was a sample. and she SAW THE CLIP OF HIS RESIGNATION SPEECH. but had no idea nixon even EXISTED???? she told me she just thought it was an "ugly man"

and its really so crazy to me hecause well. NIXON IS SO? PERVASIVE IN POP CULTURE?????? IM NOT A CROOK AND WATERGATE ESPECIALLY???? i coudlnt tell you how or why but ive always just Known about richard nixon and watergate & yknow his resignation speech. maybe its just futurama but????? my sister also watched a bit of futurama when we were kids.

she also told me she doesnt know anything abt the usa. and she doesnt care about it at all. and she went "ask me a question i should know the answer to" and i asked her which president abolished slavery I FEEL LIKE THATS?????? a common fact yknow. and she eventually said lincoln but she WASNT EVEN COMPLETELY CERTAIN HE WAS EVER EVEN A PRESIDENT???????????

and now im wondering if im weird for knowing these things. and being in any way aware of nixon and the watergate scandal before i started doing a level history. i thought iy was one of the things everyone was kind of aware of. AND I FEEL LIKE IT IS???? i think my sister might just be a freak
