it’s not as easy as people think.

“ i know it's not, ”

riza feels... called out. she was ignorant enough to believe eternity would be easy. not for long, and not loudly. but it would be a lie to say she never felt blinded by the promise of being immortal having forever guaranteed to spend alongside the one she loves the very most. the thought alone was... euphoric. so much so that she would've paid any price for it, no matter the cost. it was only when she was confronted with the reality of how much she would have to give up on and sacrifice in order to be like him.

she tenses up visibly at the thought. never having a family, never growing old and seeing their own children grow up. never settling in one place for too long. no roots, no long term connections. all things she has longed all her life.

and all that being given up for a lifetime of being a monster. it will hurt when she's converted, it will hurt every time she needs to feed, it will haunt her when she has to kill. it sounds miserable, and yet...

she knows she's being watched, and judged. even studied, perhaps. there is no way for her to know that this one isn't toying with her. blood-suckers can be weird, but so can she she supposes.  

“ but i made my choice. ”   and that is all there is to it.
