I think at this point I've resigned myself to not getting a full night's rest for a hot minute. nothing quite like having to spend a day asking colleagues for attorney recommendations "for a friend" when universally "for a friend" always means "me" (even though it's not, but I did need attorney recs).

#in eleven years working with legal professionals I've never had to ask that #I'm very fortunate to be able to have access to these kinds of resources #but holy shit I'm pretty sure some of them think I broke the law now lmao #y'all I work for a very well connected retired JUDGE and I'm so glad it didn't fall under his area of practice #because my god that would have been so painfully awkward #like 'hey bro let's start the semester with a fun question #who's come before your bench that you think would be best to get someone out of a not insignificant jam?'#y'all my LIFE lately it is such a fucking tragicomedy I cannot anymore #please know that I'm genuinely laughing about all of this it's just ABSURD
