no full offense, but why the fuck is r/fakedisordercringe still a thing?
#it makes me so irrationally angry that such a disgusting subreddit is still here#it just targets systems and autistic people who don't fit into the tight glove riddled with spikes (1/2)#that they [the users of r/fakedisordercringe] made using ableist and outdated information (2/2)#sure there are people who fake such. however there have been NUMEROUS studies showing that the reason why they do that (1/4)#is not really because it's a “trend” they followed but rather there is an underlying issue that hasn't been addressed (2/4)#which causes them to act in such a way in order to garner attention to possibly help validate how they're feeling and maybe (3/4)#help put a label on what they've been going through that can help them understand themselves (4/4)#I may be misremembering but that was basically the bottom line iirc#in general: r/fakedisordercringe doesn't help anyone. it dehumanizes the people being posted and it never actually helps anyone at all#also like 100% of the users are fully abled and wouldn't know what it's like to have the disability/disorder#they're literally claiming people are faking#I know long rant in tags 💔 I will do this again#franky posts
