Once the "daskalo" (or mentor) of Atriox himself, War Chief Escharum had control of all Banished forces left in the galaxy. In late 2559, he defeated the UNSC at Installation 07, taking control of the ring and hunting down surviving humans.

During the Installation 07 conflict, the Banished make use of prefabricated strongholds. These bases are dropped from orbit, impacting the ground hard enough for its massive underslung spikes to burrow down and provide a sturdy foundation.
