It felt good to be in a suit again and the night reminded Gabriel of his first taste of luxury thanks to the Kelly family. It was impressive how far and wide their power touched and he’d be lying if he said the feeling of belonging to something didn’t make him happy. Seeing his old friend, Gabe approached after Odessa left his side for a moment but he was oblivious that she was still within earshot. “I thought I was going to be your plus one.” he laughed, tapping Finn’s shoulder kindly and passing over a drink. “People are gonna start talking, Finn. First wondering when our wedding is and then you turning up with a pretty younger model? Not a good look.”

The bruise was lingering against Hunter’s face and slowly fading, thanks to Danny. He forgot the younger man could pack a mean punch, his brain not registering that he wasn’t the scrawny kid he bonded with in jail any longer. Getting the whiskey poured, Hunter sighed and relaxed onto the seating. “Whole damn shit show, I tell ya.” his voice was gruff, as if he was trying to get all his bones to stop cracking as he moved them. “Socked me in the face then ain’t seen him since.” he laughed. “Probably crawled under a rock somewhere pissing his panties.”
