hear those footsteps, that’s just ALLYRIA VALAERYS, s/he/they work/s for house TARGARYEN as their MISTRESS OF WHISPERS. if you ask the house they’ll tell you s/he/they is/are very much ASTUTE & ENDURANT, but it has been mentioned that they can be also be GUARDED, let’s hope the latter doesn’t get them into too much trouble ── LILY JAMES / TWENTY NINE / CIS FEM.

allyria was born a lyseni noble, descendant of one of the fortunate dragonlords who escaped the doom of valyria and made the resort city their home. the valaerys family in particular had long been one of the most powerful families in the city and her father, though an extremely powerful man also had many enemies. despite the fact that there were multiple people outside the walls of her luscious family estate that would like nothing more than to see her father and the rest of her family hanging from the city walls, allyria lived a charmed childhood, sheltered from all of that.

when allyria was thirteen years old, real life came knocking at her door. her father was killed in the streets, along with allyria’s older brother, the valaerys heir. her mother locked what was left of her family, allyria and her young sister, inside their estate. the walls were strong, but not strong enough to withstand a mob. so, fearing what would happen to her sweet-faced daughters if the walls of their home were breached, allyria’s mother sent them away while she stayed behind, hoping to buy her daughters some time.

allyria and her sister carried what little valuables they could and fled the city, buying passage on the first boat away from lys, away from home. allyria had never left lys, had barely left her own home in truth, and so the world away from those luxuries, no servants waiting on her every whim, was a difficult one for her to get used to. but more than riches, allyria’s father had also provided her with brains. she was a smart girl. eventually, the sisters ended up in king’s landing, away from the reaches of her father’s enemies. they found themselves sleeping on the streets more often than not, but allyria managed to keep them fed and clothed and safe, for the months of travelling had shaped her into a feisty girl, one that was stronger than she looked. 

after years of living on the streets, allyria found herself in service to the master of whispers. she had a skill for coaxing secrets from people when she wanted and slipping away undetected when she needed, which was terribly useful to him. although her master was a slimy man and she didn’t trust him one bit, allyria knew she had few other options, unless she wanted to send her sister back to the life they had lived before.

when the new king was crowned, allyria was appointed the new master of whispers and for the first time since she lost her parents, she feels in control of her life. above all, allyria wants to keep her baby sister safe and make her parents proud.
