listen, therapy is great and everything but i am getting really tired of the way that this fandom (a) treats it like a magic bullet and (b) insists that everyone must have all their mental health shit perfectly sorted out before they can be in a relationship

#relationships are not a magic bullet when it comes to trauma and mental health issues either #but i am getting really weary of the underlying assumption that traumatized or mentally ill people shouldn't get to be in a relationship #until some nebulous future point when they've fixed all their 'issues'#it's always got this condescending undertone of 'sorry sweetie you're too broken to know what's good for you'#which character is this about?
