Andrew nods to himself. He figured as much. “What do they look like?”

“According to my favorite book, they can take many forms,” Renee answers. Then she grabs her water bottle and takes a gulp.

“Can they look human?” Andrew asks, purposefully not meeting her stare. This isn’t like him, to ask questions about unimportant things. About things he doesn’t believe in. And she knows it. Andrew hates that she knows it, but there’s nothing he can do about it.

Renee nods after a moment. “They generally do. In most cases, I think they appear as men.”

Ah. Interesting. 

“Are they attractive?” slips out of Andrew’s mouth before he can bite down on it. And Renee quirks a curious brow while Andrew’s busy planning his own funeral. Renee doesn’t laugh though, just smiles a bit before answering.

“I suppose they could be, to people who like men.” She says with a shrug. “Most artists portray them as beautiful, even ethereal. With wings and white robes.”

“Wings, huh?” Andrew ponders for a moment. Neil doesn’t have wings. Or does he? Andrew’s certainly never seen them.

“Yep. Sometimes they have weapons or musical instruments as well.” Renee’s a good person, perhaps too good to put up with the likes of Andrew. But she does. Perhaps that makes her a saint. Andrew wishes he could ask what he really wants to. So he does.
