Various doodles of my characters from the past couple weeks. Development is reeeeaaaaaaallllyyyyy slow right now. However, I’m getting some ideas from my coursework. Crazy, but this project is making me remember my coursework better.

#personal project #neanderthals #guys guys okay so #in class the prof told us about the ecological niche #and that only ONE species can occupy a single niche at a time #if there are two species they will compete and one will go extinct #he was talking about it in the context of early cenozoic era primate extinction #but i spaced out for a moment and thought if this would be applicable to the neanderthal disappearance mystery #homo sapiens and neanderthals probably... welll... almost certainly occupied the same niche?#i feel they were so close as a species that they might as well be considered one species occupying that niche??#they interbred too #so they definitely lived in the same places and ate the same things #it's likely a matter of interbreeding and that homo sapiens outnumbered neanderthals #i'm not a paleoanthropologist so i'm not exactly well versed in all the complexities of this situation #there's probably so much at play that i'm not yet aware of/know little about #but i love theorizing #*ahem you see how much zelda2 theories I made right
