Okay so first off that is so adorable and yes you totally can 😂😂 I’ve heard a lot of renditions of my name but I’ve never heard that one! It’s so cuteeee! Also....Karu how dare you just mention my favorite ghibli movie my favorite ship and just LEAVE. My OTP and one of my top three favorite movies I’m starstuck....okay I gotta think about this good. Gimme a sec. 

Okay so I want to change this up a bit it doesn’t exactly follow the plot of Howl, but I think this would be good. My plotbunny for this started with me thinking huh Madam Solomons little boys remind me of Sunny, and then I went with it. 

Hero, Mari, Sunny, and Kel were all together at the academy together studying witchcraft and sorcery. They grew up together and it was really fun. They didn’t know exactly why they were learning what they did, but they were all gifted. Hero and Kel were always a bit more of free spirits, they often disappeared and reappeared some time later with bumps and bruises, and Mari was Madam Solomon’s prized pupil. She was smart as a whip, quick as they come, and she had a natural affinity for deep magic. 

Then one day when she was about 12, Hero and Kel snuck out one night (as they often did) and they just didn’t come back. She did locator spells, sent messages by the wind, everything, but Hero never came back for her.

Instead of Hero being the one who swallowed a falling star, it was his brother Kel. They had the little house by the flower glen as their secret spot away from Madam Solomon, and one night Kel ran out into the falling stars and caught one. He heard a boy scream his name just as the falling star fell into his hands, but when Kel turned around to look at him, he didn’t know who he was. 

Aubrey is Calcifer here, and she makes a deal with Hero. She will erase Kel’s memory of the incident and she will use Hero’s magic as a conduit to keep Kel’s heart safe while Hero tries to break the spell between her and Kel. In exchange Hero builds a magnificent moving castle, and he hides himself and his brother in the Wastes. 

He knows if Madam Solomon ever found out about Kel’s potential power, she would use it and most likely end up completely corrupting Kel. Kel’s power is greater than any other sorcerer with the help of the demon and the fallen star, but it’s too much for a little boy. But when Hero wields it, it destroys his body (Think the bird form that Howl gets stuck in)

Kel has no memory that they were ever in the academy at all, and he knows his magic is pretty weak compared to Hero’s, but his brother is teaching him! He’s trying to learn as quickly as he can, but he can’t measure up to Hero. He and Aubrey often get into little spats (mostly because Aubrey is mad that Kel tied her to him)

Still Kel is Kel and Kel likes to explore. Hero doesn’t really leave the castle at all (even though there are plenty of rumors he “eats peoples hearts”) and he only ever leaves to track down his brother. 

Yet, Hero manages to catch the eye of one witch in the Wastes though...Sweetheart. She wants him for his looks, and for his castle. With his power she could rule everything, and Hero is just pretty disgusted with her. She sends her little moles to follow him and Kel wherever she can, but he’s nearly impossible to find thanks to the Wastes and Aubrey. This goes on for four years

Meanwhile, Mari and Sunny are experiencing their own life. When her best friend (secret crush) and his brother disappeared, Madam Solomon went nuts. She sent hoards out to look for the two of them and the rumored power that they had, and this frightened Mari. She asked Solomon to let her and Sunny leave and to take their magic from them. 

Solomon refused, but Mari was firm. Take it or she was leaving with it. So she did, but when she did she put a curse on Mari in her anger. Mari lost not only her magic, but her self confidence with it. Solomon also took all of their memories of ever having magic, which included all of her and Sunny’s memories of Hero and Kel. 

Sunny and her went back to their mother and father, and their flower shop where they spent the next four years. Till the day that Kel found Sunny on one of his adventures. 

He doesn’t know who Sunny is, but he knows that Sunny reminds him of the boy he sees in his dreams. They spend the day around Farawaytown together, running from Sweetheart’s moles, hiding from the world, stealing bakery treats and snacking on them, until Mari and Hero both find them at the same time. 

In case this got confusing, only Hero remembers their time together at the academy/the falling star incident. Hero is shocked to see Mari, but he can’t help but blush and still feel like a kid with a crush around her. Mari is also pulled towards him, but she’s heard the stories of the wizard Hero who eats people’s hearts. She mostly just want to get her brother away from the wizards, wizards are dangerous. The two sets of siblings go their separate ways, and Hero is sure he won’t ever see Sunny and Mari again, even though he desperately wants to. 

Well Rosa saw the whole thing, and she tells Sweetheart who flies into a rage. Sweetheart then puts the same curse Sofie had on Mari, and Mari is now a little old lady. Sunny saw the whole thing, and so Sweetheart makes it so Sunny can’t speak. Mari isn’t sure what to do, but she knows that this has something to do with Hero (What’s the likelihood that on the day she meets the famous Wizard Hero, she also gets cursed by the infamous Sweetheart?) So she decides to take Sunny, go to the Wastes, and find someone to fix what’s happened. 

So now we have three cursed siblings, one tired older brother who just needs a nap, two evil witches, one fire demon named Aubrey, and a plot.

I....am going to continue this in a part two because I want to noodle on it some more. But what do you think so far?
