i wonder if i'm the only neurodivergent person who has to be on my own in the kitchen when i'm cooking, or i have a full-on meltdown, or if that's a common thing...
#i just get so distracted and stressed if anyone else is around#it's the way they'll be opening drawers at crucial points so i can't get at ingredients or tend to boiling pans quick enough#taking up places on the stove and utensils i need so there aren't enough#expecting me to talk to them so i have to take off my headphones or i won't be able to hear them#talking loudly so i can't hear the instructions video recipes#automatically tidying stuff away or washing up equipment i haven't finished with#wanting to know exactly when i'll be finished cooking even though i have no idea#just. nope nope nope i can't handle it at all and then i end up getting in SO much of a state and i feel bad for making my family stressed#(this is a common occurance at home right now bc i'm staying with my family and my dad has to eat different meals from me at very specific#times bc of his diabetes. so it always ends up SO chaotic. today he accidentally knocked one of the bowls i was using off the counter and i#broke everywhere and we both ended up having a massive row and ending up equally stressed out. and i still feel bad about it :()#emma vents
