7 - How do you choose which POV to write from?

It's totally dependent on what I want to convey for that portion of the fic/the particular scene. If a certain character's viewpoint will be a more interesting read I will always go for that one! And that's based on factors like what information the character knows (if it's the same as what the reader knows/will reveal new things to the reader/the character doesn't have crucial information that the readers already have etc.), whether the POV character will be as reliable/unreliable of a narrator as the scene requires, whether they're more insightful/analytical/funny/impacted by the events of the scene compared to the other characters present, and so on! Sometimes I will specifically avoid a certain character's POV simply because they know too much and that would just be spoonfeeding instead of creating questions for the reader to follow along with 👀

20 - Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc.?

I do have a couple of quirks that get pulled out often in my writing! For example, I like to represent what's going on in a character's mind with a combination of both third-person narration of their thoughts and lines from their actual thought process (first person and italicised). I think it helps with flow since it breaks apart what would otherwise be a lot of text in the same tone/format! Another thing I've noticed that I do a lot is, when there are parallelely-happening scenes in different locations, I line up similar things that are going on when breaking the scene to accommodate the next one– for example if a character is waking up and doing their thing in location A, when I next cut to location B, the character in that scene is also waking up or going to bed or in a similar sort of position.

Another thing is– I love quippy little dialogue exchanges that don't really add much besides a laugh xd

This is such a fun ask! It varies a little between ships and characters, but off the top of my head, some things I always enjoy:

I mean, this doesn't exactly apply to characters who don't. talk.? (looking at u Corazon from one piece) BUT! in that case the equivalent would be the unspeaking character being very reactive, or their every slight reaction is given great emphasis in the narrative 😳😳 yeah very important to mention that bc. listen I love corazon being in smut. he gets his own system

Noise. I love when they're being noisy and talking during the scene. Smut scenes with a lot of description of the acts and sounds with limited use of actual dialogue definitely have their own charm! But I really eat it up when the characters are actually talking to each other and maybe even there being "dialogue" of the other kinds of sound they're making (like...instead of writing that they gasped, an "Ah!" explicitly written out as dialogue, lol, if you get what I mean).

Another thing I really like is when the narrative takes its time!! Unless what's going on is a really fast quickie, I want to be able to read every detail leading up to the...erhm, finish line, rather than a rushed ending close to that point. This always feels like a nice cherry on top to wrap up a smut scene so I love when writers do this!
