he was never celebrating it. also not while dating james. james had been nothing but understanding in all those years. but nevertheless jafar felt bad that hook's traditions didn't have as much value in agrabah as his own. so he went out of his way to get his beloved a little something at the very least. he wouldn't put on a santa hat or dress up in a red robe to give it to him, but he would wait until it was late at night, as james sat in front of the fire place, reading a book, that he snuck up to him, wrapped his arms around him from behind and kissed along his neck.

"i have something for you." purred the sorcerer, when a rather big box was placed on james' lap. in it was something he hoped the pirate would proudly wear should he decide to set sail on an adventurous journey again. along with a beautiful peacock's feather attached to it. it was a captain's hat in dark purple, resting on a jacket, the same colour. silken and made for going on shore and presenting yourself to new people in an extravagant and impressive manner.

Hook had got used to not celebrating Christmas, it wasn't much of a celebration back at home either in all honesty and celebrating it at sea was very hard and rare to do so. He had become quite comfortable merely sitting at home in Agrabah and he had done the same tonight, reading his book by the fire in contentment.

When he felt arms snake up from behind him and a pair of lips press against his neck he chuckled, tilting his head back to enable him to smooch Jafar right back.

He would have been happy with just the affection, but then the box was placed on his lap and his eyes widened, going from the box to the Sultan in surprise.

"But, you don't celebrate mi amore," he smirked in amusement, but opened the gift none the less (it WAS a free thing for him after all) and his jaw hung open slightly in awe as his fingers brushed over the rich purple hat, similar to his old one, but so much finer...

The coat was beautiful, down to the fine stitches and embroidery and he pulled it out, gasping over it with amazement.

"Ooohhh... Jafarrrr!" He cooed and wrapped his arm around his husband, placing a big kiss on the man's cheek. "Its GORGEOUS! Thank you, my love!"
