2. Favorite Song Character: This is SO HARDDDD UGGHHH…..I love them all so much grrrrrr

I’m gonna narrow this down for myself to songs ABOUT a character, and then go from there, because I could argue with myself about this for hours. Because while Macavity slaps, Macavity would slap. Me. In the face. With his claws.

I’m gonna have to be a lil basic and go with Mistoffelees :). I just….love him lots…..and Tugger is always so fucking excited to sing about his special guy…..

8. Favorite Make-up: Oooo good question……I have a couple favorites (that aren’t from 1998 because let’s be honest I could rant about 1998 makeup forever (even though it’s the most subdued)).

Off of the top of my head, Tugger from Hamburg 1991, Jellylorum from Macskák 2001 I believe? (I think it’s Hungary, either in 2000 or 2001), Skimble and Misto from Mexico’s tours in 2013, Macavity from Buenos Aires and Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer from what I THINK is a Canadian tour.

I’ll put pictures of all these guys under the cut, I ADORE the makeup in these shows, and there are a ton more that I didn’t bring up.

9. Favorite song?: Another hard fucking question 😭😭😭 why would you do this to bestie. I don’t think I can pick a favorite, (the only song I actively am not the biggest fan of is journey to the Heavyside layer, and I STILL cry during it).

I think the song I listen to most as an actual SONG, like in my playlist along with fuckin Mitski or Aurora would have to be The Rum Tum Tugger? It’s just easily digestible, a very vibe worthy song, whereas other fun songs like Macavity are very much a moment, yk? (Shoutout to mungo and rumple, because Ive looped their song for weeks at a time (the German version vibes so hard it’s so good)).

20. Did you see cats live? If so, where?:

I fucking DID and I am mad about it TO THIS DAY. I’m SO mad. I’m not gonna reveal the location because that would be very not good and Internet safe™️, but it was at a theater that housed tours of shows, which means I also got to see Jesus Christ Superstar, Hadestown, Hamilton, the like. Thank god my father is a huge theater nerd.

Anyhow, I saw Cats when I was 13, and I remember loving it, and that I picked up on Misto and Tugger immediately.

And that is ALL I remember. WHY? Because not only was I 13, I was coming down from being an Uber-depressed 12 year old, which means there is a year and a half of my life that is almost ENTIRELY gone. Literally could not have picked a worse time to go to see Cats. Every time I’m reminded that I saw Cats live and literally don’t remember it, I throw myself upon the floor in despair.

A weeklong human trafficking sting by the FBI has led to the arrest of 28 men at a south Reno home.

According to the FBI's Northern Nevada Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, all 28 suspects arrived at a home in south Reno to "knowingly engage in, and pay for, sex acts with a minor as identified through the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit."

The FBI funded operation identified seven men on its first night, Monday, Oct. 5. Eight men were arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Five were arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Eight men were arrested on Thursday, Oct. 8.

All suspects were arrested on felony counts of soliciting a child for prostitution, and attempted child abuse. Some of the suspects are facing additional charges.

12 suspects have already posted bail.

28 men arrested in week-long FBI human trafficking sting in south Reno

A weeklong human trafficking sting by the FBI has led to the arrest of 28 men at a south Reno home.

According to the FBI's Northern Nevada Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, all 28 suspects arrived at a home in south Reno to "knowingly engage in, and pay for, sex acts with a minor as identified through the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit."

The FBI funded operation identified seven men on its first night, Monday, Oct. 5. Eight men were arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Five were arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Eight men were arrested on Thursday, Oct. 8.

All suspects were arrested on felony counts of soliciting a child for prostitution, and attempted child abuse. Some of the suspects are facing additional charges.

12 suspects have already posted bail.

The Only Country Named After Jesus – Can You Guess Which?

There are 195 countries today: 193 member states of the United Nations and 2 observer states, the Holy See & Palestine.

Of that 195, only one country is named after Jesus Christ – can you guess which?

El Salvador.

The story of El Salvador begins with Spanish Conquistador Pedro de Alvarado. On the 6th of June in 1524, he and some 5,500 soldiers crossed the Paz River into what is today the Ahuachapán Department to find it abandoned.

He declared the new territory for New Spain as such: Provincia De Nuestro Señor Jesus Cristo, El Salvador Del Mundo meaning Province of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World. The name was subsequently shortened to what we see today.

El Salvador also holds another first: they have the only nation capital named after Jesus also!

Alvarado also founded the the Villa de San Salvado shortly before May of 1525, becoming today the country’s capital city of San Salvador meaning Holy Savior. His nephew also happened to found the country’s 3rd most populous city, San Miguel meaning Saint Michael.

The rich Catholic history of El Salvador is evident today: a majority of the country today are practicing Roman Catholics.

Pishtaku, Pishtakuq oder Pishtaq (auf Ancash-Quechua), hispanisiert Pishtaco, in Südperu Nak'aq (auf Qusqu-Qullaw-Quechua) oder Nakaq (auf Chanka-Quechua), in Puno und Bolivien Kharisiri, Lik'ichiri oder Llik'ichiri (auf Aymara), ist in der andinen Tradition der Quechua und Aymara in Peru und Bolivien ein monströser, meist weißer Mörder, der den ermordeten Indigenen das Fett aussaugt.

Die Legende vom fettsaugenden Mörder Pishtaku oder Nak'aq ist in den peruanischen Anden insbesondere in den Regionen Ancash, Huánuco, Junín, Huancavelica, Cuzco, Ayacucho, Apurímac, Pasco und im Bergland von Lima lebendig. Die traumatischen Erfahrungen der Indigenen mit den spanischen Eroberern – ähnlich wie auch mit Vertretern der Macht bis in die Gegenwart – wurden in der Kolonialzeit bereits früh in Mythen verarbeitet. Der Pishtaku macht sich über Männer und Frauen her, die allein sind, und schneidet ihnen die Kehle durch, um ihr Fleisch in Form von Chicharrones zu essen und das Fett zu verkaufen. In anderen Erzählungen begräbt er seine Opfer, mitunter lebendigen Leibes, um die Erde zu düngen und den Gebäuden Festigkeit zu geben.

Der Pishtaku ist in der Regel ein Weißer oder auch Mestize, ein Mann mit Hut und Lederjacke, hoch zu Ross oder im Auto, vom Staat privilegiert und hochgebildet.

Mitunter kann er zu einer benachbarten indigenen Ethnie gehören.

Ricardo Palma beschreibt 1896 in der siebten Serie seiner Tradiciones Peruanas, wie Quechuas von Cusco in der Zeit um 1700 die dortigen Mönche vom Orden Padres Belethmitas oder Barbones (gegründet 1667) als Nacas (Quechua: nak'aqkuna) bezeichneten, die Indigene entführten und töteten, um ihnen Menschenfett zur Herstellung von Salben zu entnehmen.

In der andinen Tradition ist viel Körperfett ein Zeichen von Gesundheit, während Krankheiten mit Abmagerung und Fettmangel erklärt werden. Die Praxis der Conquistadores, Wunden mit dem Fett erschlagener Feinde zu behandeln, entsetzte die Indigenen.

In heutigen Erzählungen wird das Menschenfett für die Funktionsfähigkeit von Maschinen wie etwa Getreidemühlen oder Flugzeugmotoren, in anderen Fällen für pharmazeutische Produkte benötigt. Ebenso werden in Entwicklungshelfern, dem US-amerikanischen Peace Corps oder den Missionaren von SIL International Pishtaku gesehen. Hierzu gehört auch die Vorstellung, dass Kinder zunächst gemästet werden, damit ihnen später das Fett ausgesaugt werden kann.

Als Handlanger katholischer Geistlicher tritt der Nak'aq (hier: ñak’aq), ehemaliger Jünger Jesu, noch in den Jahren 2005 und 2007 in der Erzählung San Bartolomé ñak’aqman tukupun („Wie Sankt Bartholomäus ein Nak'aq wurde“) aus der Gegend von Chinchero bei Cusco auf. Für abgeliefertes Menschenfett – benötigt für Menthol und Medizin – erhält er von den Priestern des Konvents Santo Domingo Silber (oder Geld). Während durch die Landreform unter Juan Velasco Alvarado ab 1969 der vormalige kirchliche Großgrundbesitz den Indigenen gehört und die Tribute – Naturalien und Arbeit – für „Christus, die Seelen und den Priester“ abgeschafft sind, treiben die Nak'aqkuna weiter ihr Unwesen. Wem das Schicksal bestimmt ist, durch einen Nak'aq zu sterben, kann dem nicht entrinnen.

Die Angst vor dem Pishtaku wird von Eltern gegenüber ihren Kindern auch als Erziehungsmittel eingesetzt und so direkt an die nächste Generation weitergegeben.

Nach Einschätzung von Anthony Oliver-Smith, der in den 1960er Jahren in Ancash forschte, hat die Legende vom Pishtaku und das damit verbundene tiefe Misstrauen in die Fremden eine überlebenswichtige Funktion, um die indigene Gemeinde einig und auf Distanz von der realen Bedrohung durch die Weißen und Mestizen zu halten.

Der Pishtaco war auch die Vorlage für eine 2009 bekannt gewordene, aber schnell als Erfindung einiger Polizisten entlarvte moderne Legende, nach der eine als Pishtacos bezeichnete Bande von Serienmördern im Zeitraum seit den 1970er Jahren 60 Menschen ermordet haben soll, um ihr Fett an Kosmetikfirmen zu verkaufen.

⸻ ARC ¹ * : ben knew taichi from visiting his uncle luke previously but during his time at the academy , taichi and luke both kept trying to connect with him , convinced he was sinking into a depression & needed help. when ben became a target of the 'knights', a club of elite rich students from a neighboring prep school. things got worse. a kickboxer thanks to his mothers nagging that he get involved in sports as a child: he beats them up & moves on. shortly after taichi is targeted by them and it ruins their friendship. taichi doesn't blame ben but he can't move past the fact that it's his fault they retaliated. the local police write it off as kids being kids instead of a hatecrime or gang violence because judge snoke doesn't want any records tainted. ben realizes for the first time, the law doesn't apply to everyone.
