#just any lukas gage role
I saw Lukas Gages tweet on twitter the other day and the way some queer people were responding to it was really disheartening. Many said no one should take a queer role who isn’t willing to come out. Many said there was NO REASON for a celebrity to not come out, and often argued that in fact they OWE IT to “normal queer people” to do so. It was all really awful and I’m amazed anyone thinks demanding anyone come out is justified.
What I find baffling about this argument is there's a complete inconsistency. If there's no reason that a celebrity (or in this case a working actor) wouldn't come out - than that would suggest that the industry that has been responsible for the cultural side of the US's homophobia for a hundred years has been transformed to be free of homophobia. But if this was true, why would 'normal queer people' need these celebrities and working actors to come out? If the world was that free of homophobia then out actors also wouldn't have any meaning.
I do think it shows you what social media can do to brains and principles, and it fascinates me that this argument is applied to not just celebrities, but working actors (although I first saw it applied to Uzo Aduba, when she had one season of a recurring role under her belt). And I'm really curious if people even think about the logistics of what they're asking, and the wider implications of people who decide who gets jobs demanding to know people's sexuality.

JURY QUESTIONS
Tumblr media
Sammy:
Who do you feel played the biggest role in getting you to the end and how?
Bo:
How did you talking to me impact your game, and how could things have changed had you decided to do other things with other people, would you have made it to the end, why or why not?
Veni:
Hello to the three of you congratulations to you all for outlasting us! My vote will be based off a few factors - your relationship to me, your game and how much I personally liked it overall, your FTC performance in general and most importantly my upcoming question to the three of you. What type of game/strategy did you play and how did you accomplish it. To add to that, what's the strongest and weakest aspect of you incorporating that strategy. I'm looking to see who played their own strategy the best. Better strategies will of course earn more respect from me but I'd like to give all of you a chance.
Drew:
What up boys, congrats on making it here. I'm late and lowkey disengaged with this as a coping mechanism many moons ago, so I don't have any questions for you, I'll get any extra information from the other jurors' questions. I love you, it was a blast to play with you again, and i wish you luck in how this plays out, except nikias who made me very sad, you complete jerk. Probably won't read his responses to people.

Monty: Some people feel like your game is boring and I feel like you saying you worked with me is bullshit because all of that is through gage, who worked with me at the final 6 and then clued you in. Please explain to me how your game wasn’t just a basic game who voted with the majority and didn’t really reach out to the minority at all.
Gage: hi cutie, my vote is most likely goes to your cause you’re ummmm kind of everything, (makeup)
But in what way did you make sure that you weren’t the one who left out of all of those votes where your name was written down?
Nikias: I’m good luv enjoy
Lukas:

I believe Bo, Drew, and Eddie didn’t submit anything but I guess in the mean time, the final 3 can answer these. Because we’re waiting on questions, I’ll say the answers as of right now are due at 10 PM EST on Sunday night. Anyone who doesn’t submit a jury question/statement may be in jeopardy of losing their vote at FTC. So submit. Thank you.
UPDATE: EDDIE HAS SUBMITTED
