dial of destiny was good and i would have been happy to see it do really well, especially because i would like to see a helena spinoff tv series or something, but i'm also very okay with it kind of flopping. hopefully it shows that audiences are tired of the endless cycle of reboots and remakes and decades-late sequels, along with superhero fatigue (the diminishing returns of the mcu disney+ shows are showing that). just give us something new PLEASE.

#emma shut up #i don't expect these to go away altogether (nor would i necessarily want to)#i'm just hoping the 'safe' options failing encourages these massive studios to take more risks #just look at barbie- it had really good viral marketing sure but ultimately i don't think anyone would have predicted it making a BILLION #because it was risky and different and something completely unlike what we've been getting #and i say that as someone who feels like barbie's politics are actually a little dated
