“You can’t take her.” Jennifer is walking up and down in Kathryn’s office. She arrived here right after you had left, ready to plan to thrip to New York, as well as the upcoming project. Kathryn shifts her focus from her hand to her manager and huffs.
“NO. Kathryn, no. You know it yourself. First of all, she is a distraction. Yes, you like her, I KNOW, but this is not you. This is not how you do your job.” Jennifer looks at her boss with pleading eyes.
Running her fingers through her long mane, Kathryn bites the insides of her cheek. “you’re right, I know you are, but at the same time…”
“NO BUTS, Kathryn.” Jennifer interrupts her, prompting Kathryn to shoot her a short glare.
“…but at the same time I haven’t been this happy in years.” Thinking back at the time you spent with her, a small smile creeps onto her face.
Jennifer gets it. She understands Kathryn’s point, but as her manager it’s her job to secure the actress’ job, which is why she needs to make sure there are as few distractions from work as possible included in the trip.
Placing a hand on her arm, Jennifer looks at Kathryn with warm eyes. “Sweetie, I know you don’t like it. I don’t like it either, because I know how good the time with her is for your heart. But we can’t have this. Not now. Not during your shining moment. Yeah?”
Slowly but surely, Kathryn starts to nod as she can feel the sadness rise in her chest.
Meanwhile, you and Alex are having the same conversation back in your room. She tries to talk sense into you and talks animatedly to her phone, as you try to find a way to accompany Kathryn.
“Honey, you simply can’t. There is no way. It’s during the exam phase. You can’t be abroad for that.” She shakes her head.
Considering your options, you try to talk against her. “I could ask for online exams.”
“… there is a multiple hour time difference - you can’t be serious, Y/N.”
“I could postpone exams?” You raise an eyebrow.
Alex shakes her head harder now. “NO GIRL. No. Kathryn wouldn’t want you screwing up your education for this. You have leftover classes, exams to write and then you’ll have to write term papers you have to prepare for,” you take a visible breath. “Yes love, I am aware you could write those on set but we all know you wouldn’t. It’s better for you to stay.”
You want to argue. You really do. But there are a few things holding you back. First of all, you know Alex makes a valid point. Second of all, you don’t even know where you are standing with Kathryn. What are you to her? What is happening with her? The lines are so blurry that it’s hard for you to see, so you think it might be better not to assume and make a fuss about all of it.
Lastly, you don’t even know if she wants to have you by her side in the first place, because, again, it’s not like she is your girlfriend or anything. Not that you wouldn’t want her to be.
So, just like Kathryn does with Jennifer, you agree to what Alex says and make your decision to stay, even though it hurts your heart just as much as it hurts hers.
Given the fact, that she has to leave for New York right the next morning, it’s not possible for you to see her again. You think back at the soft kiss she planted on your lips as you left her house under yesterday’s hot afternoon sun. You feel so good with her and you can’t stop to think back at how beautiful her eyes look up close - even more beautiful than on all her pictures that Alex and you have been sending back and forth whenever Kathryn did a new promo shoot.
It’s late afternoon as you’re lying on your bed and stare at the ceiling, a random Marvel movie running in the background.  Alex has been trying to hype you up all day, but, given the fact that Kathryn is gone for an unforeseen time, you still feel sad.
You turn off the movie because you can’t seem to concentrate and connect your phone to the speakers to play some music. You remember that you can sit on your windowsill that’s facing the backyard and and decide to sit down and watch the birds in the tree outside your window as you open Spotify and it starts playing the last song you stopped on. “She” by dodie fills the room and you don’t think you related to a song like that ever before.
It really describes the feelings of uncertainty that you have right now. It doesn’t help that you never really took the chance to talk to her about all of not. Not properly, at least. This mistake leaves you with this endless feeling of emptiness that seems like it’s eating you up from the inside as you don’t even know if she feels the same in any way.
Your phone chimes and you nearly fall off the windowsill as you shoot up to reach for it. It’s the group chat you thought had died a while ago that you joined right after Kathryn appeared on Wandavision.
Apparently, news of Kathryn’s casting already sank through and everyone is screaming about it. Unwilling to share any knowledge, and also way too careful with it, you want to put your phone away as it chimes again and your eyes widen.
You immediately click the message.
“New York is wild! Haven’t had time to get to you yet. Seems like everyone and their mom wants to speak to me today. Just left my second meeting and now I have to leave for a work dinner in a few. How’s the day going back home? xxx K.”
A bright smile creeps onto your face as you realize she uses the “everyone and their mom” phrase that you use so much whenever you describe difficult situations to her. You decide not to reply immediately - you don’t want her to assume you are sitting on your phone just waiting for her.
Instead you opt to create some art and grab your supplies. There is an empty canvas behind your bed and you feel like there are enough feelings trapped in you to create something cool on it.
Your mom works long on Mondays, so you haven't realized just how much time has passed as you perform the last of the night and call it a day. Your picture is colorful. Very much so. The acrylic paint hasn’t even dried yet, but there are already tons of ideas floating around in your head about what to do with the artwork from here on out. Maybe you should get some fine liners and work out the edges, maybe do some highlighting as well, you don't know yet.
Just as you want to put the brush aside your phone lights up on your bed. You can't pick it up just now because the slowly drying paint sticks to your fingers and you anxiously reach for the closest paper towel to white it off as best as you can. Not expecting anything, you finally reach for your phone and pick up the call before reading the name - an automatic reaction to late night calls from Alex.
You are greeted by a very familiar, yet unexpected, face. Kathryn smiles into the camera and adjusts the lights around her. She is clearly in her pjs, with no make up on, her hair open and messy, falling off her shoulder. You can see she is wearing a loose gray shirt and your whole body starts tingling as you realize it's the shirt she gave you to sleep in last weekend. Immediately, your brain runs wild and you try to figure out if she packed this exact shirt on purpose or just grabbed the one that was available easiest as she was probably in a rush.
Luckily, Kathryn interrupts your train of thought. “Hey! Hiya hon! I just wanted to check in. Make sure you’re alright because you haven’t replied to my message.”
For the first time you look at the clock. It’s 8.30pm and you haven’t had dinner yet.
“Shit.”, you mutter and your hand flies to cover your mouth immediately.
Kathryn, who hasn’t heard your muttering, looks confused. “Sweetheart, is everything alright?”
You smile thankfully. “Yes! Yes it is. I guess I was just wrapped up in my art and you pulled me out of it and I always need a minute to adjust. I’m fine. It’s late though and I haven’t eaten yet. Thank you for reminding me.”
“Good. Do you want me to order you pizza or something. Because I totally would.” She reaches for a notepad.
“Alright Mom…” she looks at you for a moment and you can’t tell if she is shocked or amused or anything really because she stopped reacting completely and just stares at you. Right when you are about to start panicking about the situation she bursts into laughter.
“I mean I’M SORRY. How dare I offer pizza.” She continues laughing. You love this. This is easy and light and you realize once again just how much you enjoy her company. Gosh, you miss her already.
You remember her message as you make your way downstairs. “How was dinner, Kathryn? And the rest of your day? Tell me about it!”
For the next 10 minutes, as you prepare your own dinner, she tells you about her day and the plans for the next few weeks. The two of you laugh and make jokes and for a moment it seems like both of you have forgotten that you won’t see each other for a while. After she finishes talking, you fall into a comfortable silence and just look and smile at each other for a moment.
“I like you, you know?” She is the one to interrupt the silence. “Spending time with you makes me really happy and I’m sad you can’t come to Europe with me. I need you to know. I wish I could’ve taken you with me.”
Your heart melts and your hands start to shake as you realize Kathryn might indeed feel the same way. You put the knife, that’s in your hand from making dinner, aside. You’re unable to answer right away and fight for the right words, so she continues on with her short monologue.
“I just wanted to call tonight to check in and see how you are doing since I had to kick you out so abruptly last night and maybe we can do this from time to time, check in on each other? I would love that.”
Check in on each other? Why is she so vague all the time? For a moment you thought she’d confess her feelings for you but here you are again, uncertain of what she really thinks about you. You smile, though, and try to keep it calm because you don’t want her to get annoyed with you already.
You realize it’s getting close to 9pm, which means it should be about midnight at her place. Taking responsibility, you send her off to sleep and have a short dinner followed by some reading yourself.
Before Kathryn hangs up, she promises you to call again before leaving for Europe completely. She also wants to know if you want a souvenir from NYC (why is she so cute?) and tells you to call her anytime you need something or someone. With that, she shoots you the brightest smile and leaves you to it.
The ecstatic feeling you felt when you talked to her fades quickly as you come down from the call. Suddenly, your home feels all quiet and lonely and the silence is killing you. You walk back up to your room to sit on your bed and stare out of your window to enjoy the night sky. The tree right next to your room is slowly moving in the wind as its branches scratch the glasses surface.
You decide to call it a day as the week ahead is full of work and school and the weekend was eventful, so you change into comfy clothes and get ready for bed immediately. You fall onto your bed a few minutes later just as your phone lights up again.
"Good night, Sweetheart. It was great seeing your face. xxx K."

For his entire tenure as an Avenger, Anthony Mackie had never been the first name on the call sheet.
In a galaxy of stars populated by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, the actor was aware of his place in the on-set pecking order, but would never miss an opportunity to make his presence felt.
“Number six on the call sheet has arrived!” Mackie would routinely shout on films like “Captain America: Civil War” and the box office-busting “Infinity Saga” sequels, according to Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige.
It exemplifies the sort of winning tone that the 42-year-old actor has brought to his superhero character the Falcon, aka Sam Wilson, for six movies from the top-earning studio — wry and collegial humor, with the potential to turn explosive at any moment. Both Mackie and his character are set to burn brighter than ever when the Disney Plus series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” lands on March 18.
On that call sheet, “Anthony is No. 1,” Feige is happy to report, “but it still says ‘No. 6.’ He kept it because he didn’t want it to go to his head.” The series is essentially a two-hander with his friend and longtime co-star Sebastian Stan, the titular soldier. All six episodes were produced and directed by Emmy winner Kari Skogland (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “The Loudest Voice”). The series, for which combined Super Bowl TV spot and trailer viewership earned a record-breaking 125 million views this year, is reported to have cost $150 million in total.
For Mackie, though, the show comes at a critical time for both his career and for representation in the MCU. Sam Wilson is graduating from handy wingman (Falcon literally gets his job done with the use of mechanical wings), having been handed the Captain America shield by Evans in the last “Avengers” film. While it’s unclear if he will formally don the superhero’s star-spangled uniform moving forward (as the character did in a 2015 comic series), global fandoms and the overall industry are still reeling from the loss of Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed Marvel’s Black Panther to culture-defining effect. With this new story, Mackie will become the most visible African American hero in the franchise. And when asked whether he’ll be taking the mantle of one of its most iconic characters, he doesn’t exactly say no.
“I was really surprised and affected by the idea of possibly getting the shield and becoming Captain America. I’ve been in this business a long time, and I did it the way they said you’re supposed to do it. I didn’t go to L.A. and say, ‘Make me famous.’ I went to theater school, did Off Broadway, did indie movies and worked my way through the ranks. It took a long time for this shit to manifest itself the way it has, and I’m extremely happy about that,” Mackie says.
Feige says that, especially with the advent of Disney Plus and the freedom afforded long-form storytelling, the moment was right to give the Falcon his due.
“Suddenly, what had been a classic passing of the torch from one hero to another at the end of ‘Endgame’ became an opening up of our potential to tell an entire story about that. What does it really mean for somebody to step into those shoes, and not just somebody but a Black man in the present day?” says Feige.

Like many comic book heroes, Mackie has an origin story marked by tragedy at a young age — specifically around the loss of a parental figure. The New Orleans native is the youngest of six children from a tight-knit middle-class family, whose trajectory was spun into chaos when his mother was stricken with a terminal illness.
“It was unexpected and very untimely. I was 15 when she was diagnosed with cancer, and a few months later, she was gone. She passed the day before my ninth-grade graduation,” Mackie recalls. “If my mom wouldn’t have passed away when I was so young, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
Mackie had already gravitated toward the performing arts before the loss of his mother, having enrolled at the pre-professional school New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Like many young people grappling with trauma, Mackie says he began to act out. A core group of teachers helped get him out of trouble. Ray Vrazel, still an instructor at the school, personally drove the student to a Houston-based audition for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he was accepted for his senior year of high school.
“Everything I did, I did for my mama. The idea of leaving home at 17 to go away to school would have never been an option if she was still around. She was my best friend. Losing her gave me a kind of strength, and a desire to succeed,” Mackie says.
Succeed he did. Spending that formative year as a minor on a college campus helped Mackie find his “tribe,” a misfit crew of artists and performers, which propelled him to acceptance at New York’s prestigious Juilliard School in 1997. There he was part of the breakthrough class of students of color to be chosen for the notoriously selective drama program, which Mackie says was liberating given the institution’s track record.
“Our year was a huge transition. There were hardly any Asian people in the drama program, maybe one or two Black people and hardly any Black women. In our class, we had three black women, two black men, one Native American, one Asian female, out of 20 people. Ever since then, the classes have been wildly diverse,” says Mackie, whose fellow students included stage and film star Tracie Thoms and actor Lee Pace.
Tumblr media
Following his training, Mackie launched a staggeringly versatile career. He has played Tupac Shakur and Martin Luther King Jr. to similar acclaim, a juicehead bodybuilder in “Pain & Gain” and a homeless gay teen in the Sundance player “Brother to Brother.” He has exhibited remarkable staying power in an industry that often pigeonholes actors and has a pockmarked soul when it comes to inclusion.
“I was drawn to Anthony because of his electrifying ability to combine intensity with sensitivity, courage with compassion, and all of it comes across as inevitable, as if it could be no other way,” says Kathryn Bigelow, who directed him in the 2009 best picture Oscar winner “The Hurt Locker.”
Samuel L. Jackson, whom Mackie calls a mentor and has played alongside in several films, says he has “an innate quality that first and foremost makes everyone want to cast him.” On a recent idle Netflix search, Jackson came across Mackie’s latest sci-fi film, “Outside the Wire,” and it triggered a memory of sitting in the audience for his performance in the 2010 Broadway production of Martin McDonagh’s play “A Behanding in Spokane.”
“Watching him onstage, I thought, he’s a very adroit actor capable of putting on many hats. He’s fearless and will try to be anybody. Then, on my TV, he’s playing a nanobyte soldier or some shit,” Jackson says.
Though always humble about getting the next job, pre-Marvel Mackie was rarely offered pole position.
“There were certain pegs. My first was ‘8 Mile.’ It was a monumental step at the beginning of my career,” Mackie says of the 2002 Curtis Hanson film that elevated rapper Eminem to multi-hyphenate stardom.
“After that it was ‘Half Nelson.’ It blew up Ryan Gosling, so I was there to ride the wave. Then ‘The Hurt Locker,’ and it blew up Jeremy Renner. It was the joke for a long time — if you’re a white dude and you want to get nominated for an Oscar, play opposite me. I bring the business for white dudes,” says Mackie.
He remembers the sensation “Hurt Locker” caused during its awards season. It was a moment he thought would change everything as he stood on the stage of the Dolby Theatre with the cast and filmmakers, having just sipped from George Clooney’s flask while Halle Berry radiated a few rows away.
“I thought I would be able to move forward in my career and not have to jostle and position myself for work. To get into rooms with certain people. I thought my work would speak for itself. I didn’t feel a huge shift,” he says, “but I 100% think that ‘The Hurt Locker’ is the reason I got ‘Captain America.’”
He’s referring to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the 2014 Marvel film that was the first to be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (the current title holders for the highest-grossing film of all time with “Avenges: Endgame”). Mackie says that blockbuster not only gave him his largest platform to date but changed expectations of superhero movies forever.
“It was the first of the espionage, Jason Bourne-esque action movies at Marvel. After that, the movies shifted and had different themes and were more in touch with the world we live in, more grounded,” he says.
Bolstered by the words of another mentor, Morgan Freeman, Mackie feels no bitterness about his path.
“We did ‘Million Dollar Baby’ together, and when we were shooting this movie, I got offered a play. When you do Off Broadway, it’s $425 a week. In New York, that’s really $75 per week. I got a movie offer at the same time, and it was buckets of money. Three Home Depot buckets of money were going to be dropped off at my door,” Mackie says. “The script was awful; the whole thing was slimy. I went to Morgan’s trailer and asked him what he would do. He took a second and said, ‘Do the play. When Hollywood wants you, they’ll come get you. And when they come get you, they’ll pay for it.’ That blew my mind, and I left him that day with such a massive amount of confidence. He’s been a huge influence on me.”
He used the currency of that first Russo Brothers film and five subsequent ones to do what many creators and performers in Hollywood have done in recent years to help balance the scales of profit and representation in content: make things on his own.
Last year, Mackie produced and starred in “The Banker” — what would be Apple Studios’ first foray into original streaming film distribution and the awards landscape — through his banner Make It With Gravy. The film follows the true story of America’s first Black bankers and the white frontman they deployed to acquire the institution, all while supporting Black-owned businesses and communities in the process. A late-breaking scandal over sexual misconduct accusations involving the real-life family members of the film’s subjects delayed the release, overshooting awards-season deadlines and entangling the fledgling producer.
“It was a good lesson, and gave me a new perspective on the world around us. It’s very important to me that the women by my side are treated equally. It was a valuable lesson learned. I was very humbled by my sisters, for once not being mean to me,” he says.
Mackie is in development on the film “Signal Hill,” about the early days of lawyer Johnnie Cochran and the theater he brought to courtrooms long before the O.J. Simpson trial, and is hoping to secure the life story of civil rights pioneer Claudette Colvin as a vehicle for his directorial debut. Raising four sons of his own now, Mackie wants his off-screen work to make them well-rounded men.
“Look at Robin Williams,” he says. “He used to be crass and funny, and then he had kids, and he started doing all these family-friendly movies. Same thing with Eddie Murphy. I’m trying to curate my children’s experience with the things that I’ll be producing, rather than starring in. That’s what is most important. They know my job is my job; they know who I am. I’ve given up the idea of them ever thinking that I’m cool,” he says.
Jokes about the call sheet are among many of Mackie’s filming quirks. Jackson says that sets are often littered with hidden cigar stubs, to be fired up between takes or after long days. Bigelow says his rapport with crew has led to nights where the “clock was ticking but it was impossible to regain composure enough to shoot.” But according to Evans, no Mackie-ism is more famous than the phrase he bellows whenever his directors cut a scene: “Cut the check!”
Evans says this “will be forever associated with Mackie. I find myself saying it on sets all the time. I love it. But I’ll never be able to say it as well as him.”
As the man handing Mackie his armor, Evan says the Falcon’s “role within the Marvel universe has answered the call to action time and time again. He’s proven his courage, loyalty and reliability over multiple films. Sam has given so much, and he’s also lost a lot too. He believes in something bigger than himself, and that type of humility is necessary to carry the shield.”
Tumblr media
The question of Sam Wilson’s humanity will be explored at length in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” what Mackie calls a deeper showcase for both himself and Stan and their characters. It was a prospect that at first confused and frightened him.
“I didn’t think we could do on the television what we’d been doing on the big screen. I didn’t want to be the face of the first Marvel franchise to fail. Like, ‘See? We cast the Black dude, and now this shit is awful.’ That was a huge fear of mine, and also a huge responsibility with playing a Marvel character,” Mackie says.
He was quickly assuaged by the level of depth in the scripts from head writer Malcolm Spellman (“Empire,” “Truth Be Told”), especially when it came to the nuances of Wilson — a Black American man with no powers beyond his badass wings.
“Sam Wilson as played by Mackie is different than a Thor or a Black Panther, because he’s not from another planet or a king from another country,” Feige says. “He’s an African American man. He’s got experience in the military and doing grief counseling with soldiers who have PTSD. But where did he grow up? Who is his family? Mackie was excited to dig into it as this man, this Black man in particular, in the Marvel version of the world outside our window.”
Mackie celebrates Sam’s relatability in a universe full of mythological gods and lab-made enforcers. “I’m basically the eyes and ears of the audience, if you were put in that position where you could go out and fight alongside superheroes. It adds a really nice quality to him, that he’s a regular guy who can go out there and do special things,” Mackie says.
While bound by standard Marvel-grade secrecy, the actor confirms there have been no discussions of a second season for “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” As the majority of domestic movie theaters remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, he is equally unaware of the theatrical prospects for his Falcon character — or the Captain he may become by the end of this Disney Plus run. For now, he’s content to take up the mantle left by Boseman, a quietly understood pact of responsibility to Marvel-loving kids the world over.
“For Chad and I, [representation] was never a conversation that needed to be had because of our backgrounds. There was a hinted-at understanding between the two of us, because we’re both from humble beginnings in the South; we have very similar backgrounds. We knew what the game was. We knew going into it,” he says.
Outside comic book movies, Mackie is not done searching as a performer. There is a particular genre he would very much like to cut him a check.
“My team gets mad at me for saying this, but I would love to do a cheesy old-school ‘When Harry Met Sally’-type of project,” he says. “One of those movies where I’m working outside and have to take my shirt off because it’s too hot. I want a romantic comedy. I want to do every movie written for Matthew McConaughey that he passed on.”

Chapter 2: A beautiful evening!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After 2 weeks of going to school, you and Peter became close. You also became close to MJ Peter's best friend as she was in the same drama play as you. Peter and Ned both forced you to watch Star Wars, which you really liked. Everything was changing, you were finally smiling genuinely and you were getting over your ex. It was like a new beginning for you. People at school liked you, you were smart, good looking, and nice. You were kind of popular as you’re Tony Stark's son.
“Hey, Y/n!” Peter yelled across from the school hallway
“Hey” you replied. “What happened, are you ok?” You asked, Peter looked tired and he was out of breath.
Peter: "Yeah I'm ok, umm do wanna come over today? I have math homework and I was thinking maybe we can do it together?”
Peter was so timid when he started talking to you, even you were shy when he asked you to come over.
Y/n: Yeah sure... w-what time?
Peter: Is 5 good?
Y/n: yeah! Well, 5 it is then!
Peter: Sure! See you... bye.
Y/n: bye…
5:00pm
It was finally 5 pm and you were ready to go to Peter's house. Happy your dad’s assistant dropped you off at Peters place. “Ok, y/n I want you to take care of yourself and be in your best behavior.” You were a little curious as to why Happy had to say that but you agreed with him and went inside. You were in front of Peter's doorstep, you took a deep breath as if you were going on a date with him. You knock on the door and May (Peter’s aunt) opens the door. “Oh let me guess, you must be Y/n! Peter talks a lot about you." “Hi, Mrs. Parker, yes I’m y/n” you give May a big smile and she offers you to come in. “Do you want anything to drink?”
May: ok then, I’ll call Peter
“Peter y/n is here.” Peter runs out of his room and walks right towards the living room where you were. “Wow, are you ok? you look stressed.” “Yeah, I’m fine don’t worry! Wanna get started with math homework?”
Y/n: sure!
Peter brings you to his room. His room was full of Star Wars DVDs, there was a bed and a tv along with his table. Peter takes out his math homework and starts working. While working you notice a bad cut on his hand that he was trying to hide from you. Your eyes opened wide. “Peter, how did you get that cut,” you say in a tensed way. “It’s nothing I promise.” “do you have a first aid box here?” “Y/n don’t worry.”
Y/n: “tell me!”
Peter: “there is one in my bag”
You quickly run towards where his bag was and open it. You look for the first aid kit and as soon as you find it you hurry towards Peter. Without saying anything you open the first aid kit and taking Peter's hands and you start to clean the cut. “Ouch!!.”
“Sorry! Does it hurt?” You ask looking towards him with a worried face. This was new to you caring so much for someone that you cant even control your emotions in front of them, even though you had had a boyfriend this still felt new and you liked this feeling. “A little..” he replies with a little smile, ‘oof someone needs to tell this guy to stop smiling like that, that damn smile is going to be the death of me’ you thought. You smile back at him and keep cleaning the cut, finishing it with a bandage.
Even though you couldn't see, Peter has been busy trying to contemplate this weird feeling, attachment towards. Weirdly enough he liked how you cared about him, made him smile, made all his days feel fun and he even wanted to tell you something but didn’t. After a while both of you were quiet and were done with the homework. May comes running into the room saying “pizza is here!” she hands out your pizza’s. “Oh I have to leave soon.” “It's ok, stay for pizza at least” Peter requests you. You couldn’t resist it so you stayed for 15 more minutes. You and Peter both sat down and started to watch star wars. “Hey, if you don’t mind me asking, how did you get that cut?” Peter stopped chewing on the pizza and looked at you “Uh I was in a rush so I guess my hand cut into something.” He says “You should be more careful next time you know” you tell Peter with a little giggle. You and Peter finish eating and start talking about each other. “Since you moved here I didn’t get to know much about you, so why don’t you tell me a little about yourself?” You look at Peter and smile "sure! Well I was born and raised in New York. Umm do I have to continue I’m really bad at this...” you and Peter share a little giggle again. “You’re really nice Y/n, seriously the way you handled my cut I really appreciate it, so thank you.” “No problem” you answered back blushing.
You get a phone call from Happy informing his waiting for you outside. “Oh Happy is here, I got to go. Thanks for having me over Peter!”
Peter: anytime!
You rush to the door saying bye to May and head out *take that bread and that head then leave!! Oky sorry bye*. You get in the car and Happy drives you home. “So how was your evening?”
“It was so romantic.” “What??” You snap out of your dreamy self and Happy is just surprised. “Oh wait no sorry I didn’t mean to say that, I meant it was good.” “You got me worried there.” You roll your eyes as you are tired of hearing people say things like that homophobic asswipes. When you reach home your brother walks out of the house and looks angry. “Hey, David'' you say when your voice fades away. You walk in and you see your parents tensed.
Y/n: Hey guys!
Kathryn: Hey honey.
Y/n: David just walked out, and he looked really angry.
Tony: don’t worry about him, how was your evening with Peter?
Y/n: it was good, we got to finish all of our homework, we ate pizza and watched star wars.
Tony: sounds like you had fun! Didn’t you...
Before you answer your dad’s question David walks back in again ignoring everyone in the dining room.
Y/n: Ok what’s wrong?
Mom: Sweetie, there's nothing to worry about. I promise you nothing happened. He's just a little moody.
Your dad cracks a joke saying “girlfriend problems” with a laugh, you also laugh since your brother was not the best boyfriend. *like who are kidding he’s so annoying how does his girlfriend even handle him? aight bye* Your mom looks at you and Tony.
Tony: What? it's true...
Kathryn: Don’t worry about any of these things right now. Tomorrow is a big day, there will be a new girl coming to school. She is your Dad’s Friend's daughter. So I want you to show her around the school along with Peter.
“Yeah I can do that” you reply fast as soon as you hear Peter’s name. “Aww honey thank you” she looks at you in a curious way. “You look really into Peter I can see, are you gay for him?” Your dad asks. “NOO” you say really fast. “I just want to make new friends, that's all” your dad looks at you and with his glasses by his nose. “I’m kind of tired so why don’t I go to bed now.” “Sure sweetie, good night!” “Good night mom, good night dad!”
Tony: good night!
You go to bed not being able to forget about your beautiful evening with Peter and you want the night to pass by fast so you can meet Peter again. You were really in love with him *only if that asshole knew jeez like can he just propose to me and get done with this shit? Babe I'm waiting? You here?*.

MY CORONA CONTRIBUTION
Last night my mister and I were FaceTiming with some friends and they asked for TV show recommendations. For those of you who know me (which let’s be honest, is all four of you), you know that there are very few things in life that make me light up more than the opportunity to talk about TV.
I jumped into action straight away.
“So what do you want to watch? You want Drama? Something light? Dark? Dark light?”
They wanted light so I started rattling off my top picks. When I listed something they had watched already, our friend said, “Oh I’ve seen that, but you’re in exactly the right territory. That’s what we want.”
I smiled smugly. “Oh. I know.”
Adam observed and finally muttered, “You should charge for this shit.”
Which got me thinking. Obvs not to charge. That wouldn’t be chic. But, maybe this can be my corona contribution. The countless number of hours I have put into Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC… . it’s all been in preparation for this moment. To allow me to help you. If you’re stuck at home (which I know you are) and are wondering what to watch, let me be your guide. There’s SOO much good content out there, just waiting to be consumed. Amazing, quality stuff that can help get you through this new normal of nothing to do. No matter what you want to feel, TV can deliver.
And that brings me swiftly onto what I started racing through my brain next. How to categorize. There are obvious genres like Light Comedy, Dark Comedy, Dark Drama, but then what about the sub categories? Like, Things To Watch With Your Significant Other or Shows You Missed the First Time Around. But of course there could be a light comedy that you could watch with your significant other and that came out 10 years ago. Then I started to think about colour coding and excel charts and my head exploded. This was followed quickly by the realization that I am not Netflix. I don’t have algorithms or links or ways to mass personalize. So you’ll have to be happy with some good old fashioned lists. This first post is my list of light-hearted, not too dark and stressful, GET YOU THROUGH CORONA WITH A SMILE SERIES. I have eliminated the super obvious ones, but don’t think for second that I’ve somehow missed the blockbusters! Another post, for you more twisted at heart, will contain my more disturbing choices. And man are there some DOOZIES, but more on that in the coming weeks.
For now here are my top picks for light, but clever and well written shows that won’t disturb your sleep!
GLOW - Netflix
Tumblr media
This is 30 minutes of sheer viewing pleasure. It depicts the making of a women’s wrestling show in the ‘80s, so you know the costumes, makeup, hair and music alone are enough to keep you well entertained. Then you add in the GENIUS script by Liz Flahive (think Homeland and Nurse Jackie) and the talent of Alison Brie (of Community and Mad Men fame) and an all star cast, and it’s a TOTAL KNOCK OUT!
Mozart in The Jungle - Amazon Prime
Tumblr media
Gael Garcia Bernal. Nuff said. But also, dreamy dynamic between Gael as the Maestro of The New York Philharmonic, and his musicians, dreams and patrons. It’s an ode to music, New York City and romance. Can’t watch an episode without smiling.
I Love Dick – Amazon Prime
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, there was only one season of this show (plus side it’s not a big commitment), but I absolutely loved it!  It’s based on the critically acclaimed book of the same name and stars Kevin Bacon and Kathryn Hahn. Such a dream to see Kathryn in a lead role. Her kind of neurotic-feminist-best-friend vibe (seen in movies/TV you know like Transparent and How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days), is perfect in this role as a filmmaker New Yorker spending a year in the elitist art community of Marfa Texas. The show is funny and always entertaining, but also makes you feel like you’re getting a bit of culture and sophistication in too. #Smug.
This Way Up – On Demand Channel 4 (in American not sure, but FIND IT)
Tumblr media
A friend recommended this show to me and I couldn’t be more grateful! Aisling Bea wrote it and stars in it (she’s my new OBESSION) as a twenty something Londoner trying to find her way back to normal life after a mental breakdown. It’s the perfect blend of laugh out loud funny with genuine heart-warming moments. A true British comedy, it also stars Sharon Horgan and falls in the same category as Catastrophe and Flea Bag. Meaning it has that distinct appeal of extreme dry wit mixed with self-deprecation and a dash of darkness that makes it gritty and real. If I was doing subcategories (which I’m not) this would definitely fall under Hidden Gems and MUST SEE.
Dead to Me - Netflix
Tumblr media
This was a real unexpected treat! I think it popped up in a suggested watches email from Netflix. I saw Christina Applegate was in it, decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad I did! Christina stars as a recently widowed mom who finds an unlikely friend in Linda Cardellini (of Freaks and Geeks greatness) at a grief counselling group. It’s very well written with lots of funny one liners mixed with surprising, punchy plot twists and dark moments. A great exploration of friendship, obsession, desperation and the human response to those motivations. Really loved it and can’t wait for the next season!
Working Moms – Netflix
Tumblr media
Canada! Who knew? This Canadian show about new working moms just GETS IT! It’s so well written, so funny, so cringey and relatable! It was definitely one of my fave shows to discover this year on Netflix and, jackpot, they’ve already uploaded three seasons!
Community – Amazon Prime
Tumblr media
Somehow I completely missed this show the first time around (2009-2015.) But what a treat to now have 6 season of pure delight to make my way through! Based in a community college, we follow a motley crew of friends whose funny daily exchanges are the epitome of no stress, keeping things light, perfect COVID19 tv viewing. It’s clever, it’s funny and you really fall in love with the characters, especially the bromance between Troy and Abed. Also, Alison Brie is in it and I just love me some Alison Brie (see Glow).
Sex Education – Netflix
Tumblr media
I pray that you guys have already discovered the two seasons of what I deem one of the best things on television at the moment! Gillian Anderson is SPECTUACULAR. Her acting obvi, but more importantly she is KILLING IT in her ‘70s vibe jumpsuits and Meryl Streep a la The Devil Wears Prada hair cut. The whole thing is beautifully shot and gives off a trendy-right-now mutli-decade vibe, sitting neatly between the 70s to 90s. The high school story lines are a treat and I especially love the girl power, feminist plotline it brought, particularly in season 2. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I can’t EVEN!
Love – Netflix
Tumblr media
Judd Apatow wrote and produced this show, so that should be reason enough to give it a shot! It’s charming and funny and just a light-hearted relatable show about two twenty-somethings in LA who fall in love. It stars Gillian Jacobs (see Community), Paul Rust and Iris Apatow (Judd’s daughter), who is surprisingly great in it! A good one to watch with a significant other.
Call My Agent – Netlfix
Tumblr media
I’m not one to usually gravitate towards subtitles, but something drew me to this French comedy and I wound up sticking around for all three seasons. It’s very French, very funny and very chic with the premise all around a Parisian based celebrity agency. I got the impression it was full of French movie star cameos too, which made it very cool and inner circle. Highly recommend.
WELP. That’s all I can muster for now. Other top (most of them obvious) choices in this genre are...
The Good Place - Netflix
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel - Amazon Prime
Atypical - Netflix
The Politician = Netflix
Kominsky Method - Netflix
The Goop Lab - Netflix
Love Is Blind - Netflix
Cheer - Netflix
Casual - Amazon Prime
Stay tuned for the darkly diturbing list up next!

Wonderful
Words of Love 23/27 [They rarely got to indulge in things like this]
Wonderful: (adjective) inspiring delight, pleasure, or admiration; extremely good; marvelous.
For as long as Scully had worked there, the FBI had held an extravagant annual banquet in December to honor achievements from the past year. In normal Mulder-fashion, he had managed to find a way for them to conveniently be away on a case for the past six years. This time was different. Skinner was being recognized for twenty years of service, and Scully insisted they go to support him. After all, in a weird way, he was their friend and one of the few people who respected their work, even if he didn’t understand it.
She could tell this was the last thing in the world Mulder wanted to do, but he would never say no to her. He did specify that he would only go if they went together, quickly clarifying just to keep each other company, and she had readily agreed. As if she’d ever want to go with anyone else.
She knew this was going to be uncomfortable for him, he didn’t even like venturing above the basement due to the snickers and glances of the other agents, let alone spend four hours at a banquet with them. The fact he was still willing to endure it, just for her, was extremely touching.
To be honest, the reality of how close to a date this was didn’t set in until she was trying on her third dress. The first was too matronly, the second didn’t fit her right, but the third was flattering to every curve of her body. It was a floor length, black dress with a high slit on her right leg, reaching her upper thigh. The upper bodice was snug, off the shoulder, and made her modest cleavage look fantastic. She looked fantastic. It may have been a little revealing, compared to her normal attire, but she knew Mulder would love it.
She paused in the mirror and looked at herself in shock. Everytime she put on a new dress, she imagined what Mulder’s reaction would be. That was how she was making her decisions. She let out a nervous breath as she contemplated the implications of them doing this together. It was bold, arriving together to a work function, arm in arm, dressed up to the nines. No matter what they called it, it was a date, and everyone would know it.
Normally, she would just say it didn’t matter that people were obsessing about the status of her relationship, but normally she wasn’t right alongside them doing the same thing. She had to admit, when Mulder said he would only go if she would be with him the whole night, her mind was filled with unpartnerly thoughts. It was beyond flattering. If she was being completely honest with herself, she always loved being the center of Mulder’s unyielding attention.
Speaking of which, he was going to be here at anytime now and she still had to do her makeup and hair. He offered to come pick her up, and she was never one to turn down extra time with Mulder. Plus driving in heels is a bitch.
She had just finished setting her hair with hairspray, her hair was so short trying to do anything fancy was a fruitless effort, when she heard Mulder knocking at her door. He was usually never early to anything, so this spoke to his excitement. On bare feet, she padded to the front door and swung it open in a grand sweep.
“Hey Scu-holy shit.” He didn’t even try to hide his appreciation as his eyes did a generous sweep of her body, eyes practically bulging out of his head. His response filled her with a sense of pride, and something else, and her body felt hot under his gaze.
She took his moment of distraction to take a glance at his apparel. Mulder was always a well-dressed man, but wow , she couldn’t remember a time he had ever looked this good. He broke the silence first with breathless admiration, "Scully, you look radiant."
“You don’t look so bad yourself,” she laughed as she turned around, beckoning him to follow. She wasn’t done getting ready yet, but she also just wanted to show off how good her ass looked in this dress. The whistle under his breath was enough to let her know he noticed too.
He closed the door when he came in and continued to follow her. “I just have to finish my makeup and then I’ll be good to go. You could wait with me and keep me company, or you could wait on the couch, whatever you prefer.” There wasn’t even a tiny falter in his step, but she hadn’t expected there to be. When presented with the option of being with her or away from her, there never any questioning what he’d choose.
She sat down in front of the big vanity in her bedroom as he awkwardly stood in the doorway, his eyes dancing between watching her and wanting to commit every aspect of her room to his memory. He’d been in here before, more than once, but it was usually under circumstances that didn’t allow him to enjoy the rarely explored intimacy of being in her personal space.
She picked up her eyeshadow and started coating her lids, but still watching his reflection. “Mulder, I promise I don’t bite. You can sit on the bed if you want. I’ll only be like five minutes,” she teased. Apparently an invitation is all he needed because he eagerly walked passed the doorframe and did a, not so subtle, sweep of the room, looking at the small details of the ‘Life of Scully’ he rarely saw. She started working on her eyeliner by the time he finally sat on her bed, he was trying to be discreet, but she saw him run his hands over where she slept at night. Funny, she’d imagined his hands there many times before.
“Thank you for agreeing to come with me, I know this is going to be a drag, but I’m happy I’m with you,” she told him as she lined her waterline, creating a subtle cat-eye. She could see in her peripheral that he was watching her in fascination.
“Scully, I’d follow you into the depths of hell if it meant I could see you in a dress like that,” his tone was joking, but she knew he was anything but. She smiled coyly in response, knowing he could see it, as she applied a coat of dark mascara.
“That’s amazing,” Mulder said out of nowhere.
“What is?” She asked putting her eye makeup away, and applying a tiny bit of blush.
“You’re so talented. You still look totally like Scully, but you look, for lack of a better word, fierce. Not that you don’t always, but you’re really good at that,” he laughed, clearly embarrassed by his lack of eloquence, but wanting to compliment her nonetheless.
She laughed and he was clearly relieved she appreciated his words. She didn’t know what prompted her next action, but she pulled three lipsticks out of her bag; a very neutral pink that she wore frequently, her favorite deep red, and a deep plumb. Turning to face him, she held the three out, color sides facing him and stated, “Pick one.”
His eyebrows shot up a little bit, “Me?”
She nodded and he looked at the lipsticks being offered to him as if it was the biggest responsibility she had ever placed on him. He stared at each tube before flitting his gaze to her lips, clearly imagining the color on her. After a moment he pointed to the red one, “This one always looks really nice on you.”
She was secretly ecstatic about the fact he clearly paid enough attention to her lips to recognize the shade, but outwardly she just smiled and thanked him before delicately applying the shade to her lips. Having him choose her lipstick was strikingly intimate, as if he was kissing her vicariously through the action. Her eyes flitted to his reflection in the mirror and she saw he was watching intently, she also noticed his tongue dart out to wet his lips. It was always astounding how they were always on the same wavelength.
She placed he cap back on the tube without taking her eyes off him and he met her gaze, offering a coy smile at having been caught staring. “I’m ready if you are,” she exclaimed. He got off hr bed, helped her up, and led her to the car, arm in arm.
When they made their way into the ballroom, as usual when they entered a room, all eyes focused on them. However, instead of pure scrutiny, there seemed to be an unbridled curiosity and admiration. As predetermined in the car, they quickly made their way to the bar, trying to ignore the murmurs around them.
“ Wow, the Spooky’s really clean up well. Damn.”
“Did they come together?”
“Of course they came together, they got married a few years back, I mean, obviously.”
The rumors just got more and more outrageous with each passing year, but they weren’t bothered. They made their way to the bar and staked claim on two barstools, intending to stay there the whole night.
Of course, luck was never on their side. They had each had one drink, enjoying some small chit chat and banter when a pair of agents they had worked with before came up and interrupted them. Agent Davenport and Agent Holtz were partnered up around the same time as Mulder and Scully, however, they did not have the close relationship she treasured with Mulder. Agent Davenport was a mixture of Barbie and a blowup doll while Agent Holtz was about as interesting as watching paint dry.
Scully had never been a fan of Agent Davenport. Last time they worked together, she just ogled Mulder the entire time; Mulder was oblivious, Scully was irritated. However, the entire time it was happening, Scully had to listen to Holtz drone on and on about his favorite channel changing the lineup, and now Leave it to Beaver was on at eight instead of nine or something. She couldn’t fully remember, her mind had been preoccupied at the time.
“Fox! Long time no see. Don’t you look sexy?” Davenport cooed extravagantly. Oh yeah, I forgot she has the subtlety of a chainsaw to the face.
“Hello Kathryn, long time no see.I still go by Mulder, by the way. You look well,” he replied politely, standing up to greet her. Mulder’s chivalry towards women was one of Scully’s favorite aspects of him, but she preferred when it was focused on her.
She stood up as well, solidarity and all, and smiled at the man in front of her. “Nice to see you again Agent Holtz.” The aforementioned man took her hand and placed a cold, chapped kiss to the back of her hand and she had to repress a shutter.
“Please, call me Kate. Did you guys see there was a dancefloor? Come on Fox, dance with me while we catch up.” Mulder didn’t seem to have a choice in the matter as Kate dragged him away. He cast an apologetic look over his shoulder as he followed the storm, leaving Scully alone with the Crypt Keeper.
“Well, what do you say Dana? If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em?” He joked, offering his hand. With a polite smile, she accepted and followed him to the dancefloor. There were maybe ten pairs out on the dancefloor, and nine of them were just swaying gently to the song playing. The exception being her partner and Davenport, the latter was somehow trying to turn ‘Africa’ by Toto into a grinding experience.
She kept about a foots distance in between her and Holtz, he placed his hands around her shoulders and she, slightly confused, placed her hands on his non existent hips. She didn’t fully care about the awkward position they were dancing in, instead, she was just focused on her partner dancing with that woman.
She didn’t mean to sound be so territorial, she just couldn’t shake that familiar pit gnawing at her stomach. Mulder was always so kind and attentive. He would never do anything to purposefully hurt someone's feelings. So here he was awkwardly trying to keep distance between him and his dancing partner. She could gauge him better than she used to in the past. She used to think his kindness was flirtation and she would get so agitated with jealousy that it would blind her. Now, after seeing the way he looked at her when they were close, she knew what Mulder’s face looked like when he was actually enamoured.
She could hear Holtz’s ramblings in the back of her mind, but she was too busy formulating her plan to break them up. As soon as the song ended, she turned to him, interrupting him, and said “I’m so sorry Holtz, I promised Mulder I’d dance with him.”
Her abruptness didn’t faze him at all. “Go ahead little lady. It’s only natural you’d want to dance with your husband.” The earnesty in his voice was beyond amusing.
“Thanks for understanding,” she replied with a straight face. She quickly made her way over to Mulder and inserted herself practically in between them. “I’m sorry Kathryn, I told Mulder he had to dance with me when this song played.”
She honestly didn’t even know what song was playing, she vaguely recognized the introduction, but the woman’s reaction made her realize what it was. She just said she wanted Mulder to dance with her to ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love with You’ by Elvis Presley. She knew her face was bright red and Mulder was grinning at her in amusement. “Awww, that’s so romantic! I didn’t know you guys were together! Here,” the woman grabbed Mulder and Scully and practically shoved them into each other’s arms. “I’ll leave ya be!”
Finally left alone again, she glanced up to look at Mulder and saw he was looking at her with a shiteating grin. “You know, I don’t remember you making this dance request to me, but I’m more than happy to oblige.” He raised his hands and rested his palms on her hips, pulling her to him. She draped her arms over his neck and rested her head against his shoulder. She was too shy for the intimacy of eye contact right now, she needed a moment to recover from her flush.
The romantic words of the song rang out in the ballroom and she knew this was going to be a moment she remembered for the rest of her life and she was enjoying every second. It was all overwhelmingly wonderful. After a few measures, she felt a vibration against her ear and breath against her scalp and she realized he was softly singing to her.
Mulder had sung on occasion, mostly in the car when he thought she was asleep or when he was taking a shower in a motel and he underestimated how thin the walls are. She knew he had a good voice, and having him sing so full of passion to her, was overwhelmingly sweet.
She pulled her head back to look up at him and he looked straight into her eyes while he finished the song, drawing out the last few words, “ And I can’t help falling in love with you.” She knew she had a goofy grin on her face, but it was probably the exact same as the one he wore.
They continued to dance for she didn’t even know how long, gently swaying against each other, relishing in the contact. Eventually she had laid her head back on his shoulder, smelling the spot he had sprayed his cologne, the one he only used for special occasions. In a voice so soft, she wasn’t sure he’d be able to hear, she whispered into his skin “I love you too.” She felt him squeeze her tighter and she swore in that moment they became one.

_____________________________________________________________________________
“So… WHO are you?“ Lena looks at you over the brim of her coffee mug, her eyebrow slightly raised as she squints sligthly to study your facial expressions.
You bite your lower lip, trying to hold yourself back from mirroring her, before you put your drink down on to the table. The two of you went to the café that’s located right outside of the studios after roaming around the area, occasionally stopping to watch the tram shoot smaller scenes, for a long while. Lena showed you different departments and equipment as well as the cafeteria and lounge before you decided on the case as she had told you how much she likes the drinks there.
She is still eyeing you from across the table, waiting for an answer, while you scan the hazelnut brown of her eyes, trying to figure out her intensions with you.
“I am Y/N?“ you try, still unsure where this conversation is going.
Lena chuckles and slightly shakes her head before she pushes a long strand of brown hair behind her ear. She smiles at you and, for the first time, you notice the soft trail of freckles that hugs her nose. She is beautiful and you can’t help but see similarities between her and Kathryn, right when she stops touching her hair and lets her hand sink to the table before she she places it on your forearm.
“I know that, silly,“ she chuckles, releasing your arm again, “what I mean is who ARE you? I have never seen you before but you seem to be very close with some of the cast and.. I mean… Unless I am overstepping, of course.. Excuse me, if I am being to forward, you just seem so nice and I am genuinely interested and like… I mean…“
You stop drinking immediately and shoot her a reassuring smile. “Hey, it’s fine. I don’t have a problem with the question. I… Wow… I have never really told anyone my age face to face like that before…“ you take a deep breath, “to answer your question: I am close with some of the cast because I am Kathryn’s girlfriend. GIRLFRIEND girlfriend, I mean.“
Lena’s eyes widen. “OH.“
There is a moment of silence in which you look at her, unsure, unable to say anything at all, unable to take another sip, unable to move.
“Oh, right, I should have totally understood that the first time! That’s cool!“ Suddenly, the brunette breaks out into a big smile and looks at you with sparkling eyes. “Lovely to finally meet you, dear! Kathryn talks about you all the time but never has her phone on hand to show pictures. Excuse me for not recognizing you right away.”
You smile at each other and Lena eyes you for a moment before she reaches for her drink again. “Anyway. So.. how is that?”
You tilt your head. “Being with Kathryn?”
The brunette nods and smiles over the brim of her mug before she finally takes a sip again.
You think for a moment, considering what to tell her and decide to start from the beginning, reminiscing about the crush you’ve had on her for a long time and how she was the one who actually wanted to meet you after you had shared glimpses at the event in spring. With a wide smile on your face, you tell her about the times you have spend in the garden and the trips to Europe. You tell her how caring Kathryn is, how you cook and bake together and how you taught her to play video games while you sit on the couch giggling from the wine you’ve had.
Lena smiles wide as you slightly blush from your memories and talk about how kathryn met your mom and how much they seem to love each other. Talking about the relationship feels light and easy and Lena’s reaction is so supportive it warms your heart even more.
She sighs. “Honestly. This is exactly how I imagined Kathryn to be outside of the studios. She is so funny and genuine and I totally get you. Like… you hit the jackpot, obviously.”
A smile crosses your lips as she says more positive things about your girlfriend and you blush even more now that she winks at you and tells you Kathryn obviously hit the jackpot, too.
The rest of the conversation is just as exciting and easy and you tell Lena about how wholesome your life has gotten ever since you moved in with Kathryn. When you are done, Lena tells you a bit about herself and her work and you exchange numbers to hang out some day and are just about to continue your conversation as a bell rings and tells you that the shooting is over for now and it’s safe to walk onto the property again.
“JESUS. We’ve been here for a long time,” Lena chuckles and ruffles her hair before she looks at the watch on her arm. “Let’s get back inside and see how far they are along, shall we?”
Grinning, you nod and pay for both coffees, before you follow her outside. Lena’s hair flows in the wind and she radiates sunshine as she explain even more things to you while you walk through the studios until you reach the long hallway again where Kathryn left you a couple hours ago.
The woman in question is already leaning against a wall, Elizabeth is standing across from her, and the two actresses discuss something in a very animated manner while they wave their hands around and it seems like they are casting invisible spells just like they did back at the MTV awards. They immediately put their hands down as they see you approach.
“Hello again, pretty ladies,” Elizabeth chimes as soon as you reach them.
Lena grins and Kathryn makes eye contact with you, exchanging a short, loving smile before she leans forward to kiss you softly.
“Oooooooh, now would you look at that,” Lizzie grins watching the interaction before she winks at Lena, who blushed slightly.
Your new friend looks around, smiles politely and excuses herself, knowing the three of you are all set up for a date. “It was nice meeting you! Text me if you want to hang out anytime soon, yeah?”
You nod and your heart warms as you see the excitement on Kathryn’s face as she realizes you’ve made a personal connection to her work.
“Shall we?” Elizabeth breaks your eye contact as she draws Kathryn’s attention in.
“Oh but of course,” the older woman chuckles more to herself than to any of you and wraps her arm around Lizzie’s before she grabs your hand. “Let’s go, my loves.”
The three of you are an odd looking group, yet, every outsider immediately notices the love that surrounds you as you exit the property and fall into the car Peter already has waiting for you.
A short while later, after endless stories about Elizabeth’s new love for gardening, her hate for social media, and a broad discussion of the women about how stressful it is to maintain a public profile, you finally get to the restaurant Lizzie has chosen for the occasion. The sun has already set mostly and you look up the tall building towering in front of you.
“This is it?” You ask, unsure, as you have never been out in West Hollywood before.
Lizzie nods and walks straight into the closest elevator, pressing the button that says “Catch LA” in tall, golden letters.
“Ladies,” she motions out of the elevator door and Kathryn lets you go first, holding your hand while your mouth falls open upon seeing the beauty of the restaurant entrance.
The hallway’s ceiling is plastered in greenery and every possible spot holds beautiful flowers, putting a huge smile on your face.
“Welcome to my favorite Asian place.” Elizabeth smiles as she makes her way past you, walking straight towards a heavy metal door that she pushes open to reveal a restaurant that is filled with furniture made of dark wood, accompanied by dark grey accents. There is a tree in the middle of the room, surrounded by tables that seems much more green than usual trees and you can’t help but gasp as you lay eyes on the enormous window fronts, West Hollywood’s lights shining through them.
“This is beautiful,” you whisper, slightly squeezing Kathryn’s hand, who whispers “Bananas…” in return.
You get seated at the window front right away, clearly receiving some kind of VIP treatment that still amazes you whenever you remember Elizabeth and Kathryn aren’t just anyone.
“So,” Lizzie starts as soon as you sit down next to Kathryn, who immediately places a hand on your upper thigh, “how are my favorite ladies doing?”
You smile at her softly but stay quiet as Kathryn takes the lead. “Oh, you know, Y/N just moved in with me two weeks ago and I’ve been reading and learning scripts while she studies. Nothing much.”
You nod eagerly, grinning wildly at the thought of how you actually spent the last two weeks. Not that you never left the bedroom or anything, but there definitely was lots of time for intimacy. Other than that, besides lots of studying for both of you, you had cooked together a lot, spend your evening around her fire place in the backyard, went on prologued walks in a nearby parks and gotten to know each other even better.
Whenever you had time in between your studies, you FaceTimed Alex and shared short stories of your day with her, occasionally joined by Kathryn herself. The two of them had fallen into a beautiful relationship where they’d tease one another and make jokes exactly the way you always wanted your future girlfriend to joke with your best friend. It was heart warming, just as much as it was annoyingly funny.
Shaking your head to get back to reality, you look at Kathryn and Elizabeth, who has just asked you what exactly you do in life. Following that, for the next few minutes, you tell her about classes and essays you write. On a more personal level, you talk about Alex and her wife, your mom and the great afternoon you’ve had with Lena.
“Lena, huh?” Kathryn nudges you from the side.
“She is actually really nice, you know? We talked the whole time and she reminds me of you a lot, babe.” Elizabeth and Kathryn simultaneously raise an eyebrow.
“Oh does she now?” The blue of Kathryn’s eyes pierces you.
Now you’re the one to tease and softly nudge her in the side. “Is someone jealous?”
Elizabeth grins as she watches the exchange, knowing Kathryn is far from being the jealous type.
The brunette laughs and takes her hand from your thigh to put it on your hand. “You should know I am not. Far from it,” a grin plays on her lips and you can’t help but roll your eyes at her antics, “I am actually very glad you have found someone. Lena is great help on set. I like her a lot.”
Elizabeth nods eagerly before you all fall into a comfortable silence and look around the room to scan the atmosphere. The food comes soon after and Kathryn and you share yours with one another, anytime the other wants to try something.
After dinner, Kathryn orders a bottle of white wine for the table and announces that she would like to stay for a little while longer, happily agreed to by her colleague.
You listen to the women talk about upcoming projects, the plan for the next to weeks, catch some minor spoilers every now and then that you should be mad about, but really, you don’t mind because it means you are part of it all, one of them.
Whenever she can, Kathryn eyes you from the side and smiles as a familiar feeling rises in her stomach as she remembers her love for you. You just finished commenting on a fan theory Elizabeth found especially interesting as Kathryn suddenly pulls you in for a loving kiss, watched by her friend.
“You guys are disgustingly adorable. I hope you know that,” she laughs, before she takes out her phone to capture the moment.
Kathryn grins from ear to ear and places her hand on you again, emptying out her glass with the other. “You should come visit us at home soon, Lizzie.”
The younger woman immediately takes out her phone to check her calender and look for some time off to follow the invitation, luckily finding a day instantly.
A short while later, you find yourself in the car again, on the way to Elizabeth’s house. She hugs you both tight and whispers in Kathryn’s ear before she walks up her driveway and waves again.
Kathryn turns towards you with a wink, knowing you’d never ask. “she said, she’d better be invited to the wedding.”
Your girlfriend grins and pulls you in for a short kiss before you both climb into the car again and drive off.
—————————
Soft snow is tickling against the cold window of a cabin in the middle of the woods. You’re watching it fall with a smile on your lips, leaning against the frame while a fireplace is softly cracking in the back of the room. The scent of hot cocoa fills the cabin and you can hear Kathryn hum to herself in the shower.
It’s New Year‘s Eve and she has invited you on a short vacation for just the two of you after you had spent Christmas with your mom and her team and she finished on her latest project.
You haven’t put too much thought into it all, but Alex is convinced Kathryn is going to propose to you at midnight. You’ve laughed along with her on FaceTime at the idea because it frightens you just as much as you think it would be the best thing to ever happen to you. Thinking about it makes your heart race again and you don’t notice Kathryn entering the room until she is right next to you and kisses your temple.
„Penny for your thoughts, my love?“ she places a soft hand on your shoulder and looks at you with warm, blue eyes.
You place your hand on hers and shoot her a soft smile. „Just happy. Enjoying the silence. That’s all.“
She nods and makes her way to the kitchen to get yet another cacao and you just now notice the outfit she is wearing. Due to the fire in the room, the cabin is warm enough to wear short clothes, which allows Kathryn to only wear a long red button up shirt that she loosely closed with a single button so that you get a glimpse of her chest every time she moves. Riling up, the shirt exposes her underwear and you bite your lips as you analyze the black silk.
You can’t help yourself and let your eyes wander - staring at her legs as she walks away, blushing hard when she turns around to wink at you upon noticing. A wicked grin plays on her lips as you bite yours and even harder and you notice a short glim in the blue of her eyes before she disappears into the other room.
You sigh and move away from the window to sit down in front of the fire place as it has gotten a little cold this close to the outside world. Sitting down on the soft carpet, you wrap a blanket around you and watch the dancing flames until you can hear Kathryn’s footsteps coming towards you again. She places the mugs on the nearby coffee table before she sits down next to you.
“Enjoying yourself?” She nudges her shoulder against yours before leaning over to place her head on it.
Immediately, you twist a finger around one of her long locks and nod. “Of course. Especially with the woman of my dreams close by.”
Kathryn chuckles and raises her head to kiss you, prompting the blanket to fall off your shoulder. You shiver, but less from the cold than from her fingers that she now runs up and down your arm. In one swift motion, the brunette moves herself to sit on your lap and runs her hands through her hair that falls loosely on her shoulder, a freshly showered, wild mane.
“Kathryn…” you feel your body tickling as she looks you up and down and her already open shirt riles up as she moves herself into position.
You look at her abs that she flexes in the process and your breath hitches as she finally cups your face to pull you in close.
Alex’ words hall in your head and you wonder if this is it, if this might be THE moment, the beginning of the rest of your life. You eye Kathryn with blown pupils, waiting for her to take the next step, as she finally moves and pushes you back down on to the floor.
Her hair tickles your nose and your heart beats up into your throat as her lips meet yours and she wraps you up in a longing kiss. You moan against her and can feel hers lips curl as they part into a knowing grin.
Sneakily, Kathryn moves a leg between yours and softly pushes against you, gaining yet another small noise from you. She sits up again and grabs the collar of your shirt to pull you up with her.
Following right away, you crash into her, meeting her lips for yet another hungry kiss, all while your hands roam her body under her shirt, teasing her before she notices what you are up to.
Before she manages to take another breath, you run your fingers over the bare skin of her front, a trail of goosebumps forming right underneath them.
Your girlfriend’s pupils are fully blown as she looks at you and a hissed “bedroom, NOW” escapes her lips.

Both of you struggle to get up and you nearly fall down again as she pulls you up and you crush into her, wrapping your arms around her to open her bra and toss it aside on your way outside of the living room.
Kathryn giggles and grabs your hand, pulling you with her. One fast step and you have reached her again, right as you pass the huge couch that is pushed up against a wall. Without hesitation, you push her down onto it, into a seated position, before you slide onto her lap and pin her hands to her side momentarily.
Desperate for more, the brunette tries to touch you and you decide to allow her to do so all while you’re leaned back, undressing yourself under her hungry eyes.
You grin widely, making the decision to seduce her right there and then on the couch. Achingly slow, you raise your hands and unbutton her shirt, all while keeping eye contact with her. As soon as it is open, you lean forward and kiss her soft breast, before you let your tongue slight over it.
Her breath hitches, bringing your attention from her chest to her face again, prompting you to cup it before you meet her in a kiss that starts soft and emotional, but soon turns into a steaming exchange of lust.
As it ends, you lick your lips and slowly, achingly, let your thumb wander from her jaw to her lips, sliding over them in a gentle touch. Naturally, they part and you feel a rising heat in your core as she softly takes the tip of your finger into her mouth, sucking ever so slightly.
Your heart is racing and you retract it immediately, before you use a single pointer finger to draw a line from her lips, that are still slightly parted, down her chin and neck to her chest and down her perfectly toned stomach until it disappears in between your bodies.
She shivers, biting her lip hard, as her eyes follow your movement. “P-p-please, babe. I am begging you.”
The way she looks at you now hits hard and your breathing gets heavier as you lose yourself in her eyes. Noticing, she reaches around you and picks you up to finally carry you into the bedroom as you hold on to her tight and laugh wholeheartedly as she drops you down on to the bed.
“God, you are so beautiful,” she whispers, before she immediately leans down to kiss you and gasps as you sneakily let your hand slide in between her legs. Her knees give in and she collapses on top of you, softly biting your neck.
The sudden sensation makes the heat unbearable and you move your hips up in a desperate attempt to create friction. Noticing, Kathryn pushes against you even harder, before she slides down, taking your remaining clothes with her.
Her knees hit the floor and she spreads your legs before she looks up at you and enters you without any further hesitation, before she climbs up, fingers still inside, to be able to look right at you. Whispering sweet nothings, she watches you come undone and shivers under your moans, about to lose her sanity.
Whimpering, you turn into a puddle under her touch, but shock her as you recover immediately, getting your sweet revenge.
You grin and use all your strength to turn around and place Kathryn on her back, before you climb on top of her for better access. Her pulse is running now and you can see how unsteady her breathing is in the fast rising and falling of her chest. Concerned, you look at her for a moment, before she meets your gaze and nods slightly, a loving smile in her eyes.
Smiling back, you move yourself down in between her legs and kiss the inside of her upper thighs, hard, leaving a trail of purple bruises, your own arousal taking the lead. She bites her lip and her eyes grow wide as you slightly brush over her while you move to the other thigh. Before she can make another noise, you finally grab her underwear and pull it down in one swift motion, before you grant her release right after and she screams your name, sending your arousal through the roof.

A long while later, you collapse onto her yet another time and place your face in the crane of her neck, softly kissing it before you close your eyes and let out a long breath.
She wraps her arm around you and plays with your hair behind your back, humming softly to herself. While you have your eyes closed, she lets hers wander around the room and lands on her phone that is still placed on the night stand. In one motion, she taps it, making the time appear on screen.
“It’s 11.24pm, babe. Let’s get up and celebrate at least a little.” She smiled softly against the top of your head before she places a loving kiss right there.
Holding on to her tight, you groan in frustration. “Do we have to?”
“I would love to.” She moves away a little and manages to look at you. “Please?”
The sudden realization makes your heart speed up again and you remember Alex’ words once more, urging you to jump out of bed immediately.
Minutes later, you are dressed in underwear again, a comfortable sweater and sweatpants hugging your body that matches Kathryn’s look.
You sit down across the fireplace again that she has relit while you got dressed and sigh before you close your eyes again until she plops down next to you on the couch, handing you a glass with champagne and fruits.
You smile before you look at her and take the first sip, amazed by the taste. Knowingly, she nods and drinks some herself, before she leans back and gets comfortable, all while moving herself so that she faces you.
It’s 17 minutes until midnight.
“So.. what was your favorite thing about this year?” She grins.
You laugh and shake your head. “Meeting you, obviously.”
A grin forms on her face. “Mine was getting to know you. You’re easily the best person I have ever met.”
You blush and look at her with eyes filled with love. “What we’re your top 5 favorite moments?”
Kathryn let’s her head fall back on the couch and looks at the ceiling for a moment, before she closes her eyes to think. She presses her lips together and sucks them in slightly, biting down on the lower part.
“Hmmmm. Well I mean. The MTV awards are all the way up there. Meeting your mom was a good one….” She thinks a little harder. “Spending time with Alex! Also when I went on a road trip in Europe with Jen and Agnes… yeah… I liked that.”
“And….?” Your question is more a whisper than anything.
She pauses and looks at you, taking in a deep breath. “And my favorite moment was when I fell in love with you.”
You have never talked about it before and are suddenly taken aback by the realization that you have always had a crush on her that just developed into love while you have no clue when it happened for her.
You move into a comfortable position and lets your finger slide over her forearm. “When was that?”
Your heart skips a beat and a whole family of butterflies erupts in your stomach as she moves her arm so that she can softly take your hand into hers. “Well… I knew you were special when you offered to sleep on the couch on our first night. And I fell for you when… well… first, I had a crush on you that definitely was noticeable at the MTV awards, which is why I also love those memories so much, to be honest.”
Her eyes sparkle. “And then I’m fairly certain I knew when you came over to my place and then surprised me with a date. Remember?”
Both of you dive into your memories for a moment, blushing slightly at the thought before Kathryn continues. “I think I was already falling but this really tipped me. And then we looked at the stars and when your hand finally touched mine, I knew. Do you remember that moment?” You nod eagerly. “Good! Because I do, every time I look at you. And then… well… realizing I loved you was easy. I couldn’t hold myself back. It’s your smile and the way you talk. The way you treat me. The way you turn my world upside down in all the right ways.”
She reaches forward and places her hand on your cheek, softly caressing it with her thumb as you lean into her touch.
“I really do love you, Y/N,” she whispers, looking at you with longing eyes.
It’s nearly midnight now.
Kathryn gets up again and excuses herself for a moment, leaving you behind on the couch. The fireplace cracks and you smile to yourself before you take out your phone from underneath a book.
Alex has texted you, wishing you a happy new year, asking eagerly if Kathryn has dropped the big question yet. You shake your head, giggling to yourself.
“Shush. She is not going to.” You text back, knowing that it would be too good to be true but maybe also too soon but maybe you’re mot ready but maybe it’s because you don’t want to get your hopes up but then again you are not sure if you maybe want to be the one to ask.
A moment later, Kathryn comes back, smiling to herself. She places a bag on the table and sits down next to you again, checking the clock.
When it hits midnight, you look one another deep in the eyes before she meets your lips for a kiss that let’s you know you’re hers forever.
She doesn’t ask you. Never planned to. But you don’t mind, because you didn’t really expect her to.
Two days later, the magic is gone and you have to get back to your shared home and face reality. Your classes start exceptionally early this year and you have to prepare to get back to them, lovingly supported by your girlfriend.
Not too long after, in spring, Kathryn wraps up and starts to promote her newest project and you have to babysit the house by yourself for a week as she is on the other side of the country for it. Thinking back at the moment she told you about it all, you get mad at your prof again for not allowing you to miss a couple of classes.
Kathryn agreed that uni always comes first, though, so you couldn’t just ditch him and have to face the consequences now.
You turn on loud music and are standing in the kitchen, preparing Kathryn’s favorite dish for the night, “Couldn’t Believe” by the BROODS in the background. Kathryn’s plane was scheduled to land half an hour ago and you’re anxiously waiting for her to arrive, as you couldn’t pick her up yourself due to that stupid class of yours.
You sigh at the thought and continue preparing, wrapped up in your work until a warm pair of hands wraps around your waist.
Kathryn places a short kiss on the back of your neck before she reaches to grab your hand and twirl you around to properly greet you.
“You are supposed to look after the house, babe.” She laughs.
Frowning, you look at her with question marks all over your face. “Well, I did?”
She chuckles. “I walked in here and nearly startled you to death.”
“You didn’t.” You lie.
The brunette raises her eyebrow and looks you up and down. “Whatever you want to tel yourself, sweetheart.”
Wrapping her hands around you again, she looks over your shoulder and watches you, as you continue cooking. Noticing it’s her favorite dish, her whole body starts to tingle once again and she smiles wide.
“Alright. I’m going to unpack real quick. Do you want to eat on the couch tonight? I am exhausted.” She sighs and speaks more to herself than to you.
You turn around and watch her leave, smiling to yourself because of the cute rose dress she wears that flows around her silhouette, hugging her body just right. “Sure, hon, whatever you wish for.”
You hear her unpacking and moving around in the bedroom as you prepare two plates and glasses of her favorite white wine and place them on the couch, eager to spend a nice calm night with her. The living room is dipped in warm, yellow light as if the inside of your heart was pouring out.
“Dinner is ready!” You call out to her, right as you place the plates on the couch table.
She doesn’t answer and startles you, yet again, as she already stands in front of you when you turn around to look for her.
“I’ve missed you,” she whispers.
“I did, too.” You wrap your arms around her neck, pulling her in for a hug. “I’m glad you are finally home again.”
You stay wrapped up in the hug for a while and let out a long breath you didn’t know you were holding, before she removes herself from you.
“I want nights like this forever, you know? Coming home to you and all.” Kathryn looks at you with glistening eyes. “I love you more than I ever thought I could love someone. A little more each day, actually.”
You nod, holding on to her hand, unwilling to end the moment just yet. “I love you, too, Kathryn. I really do.”
“I know. I’ve never been this sure of anything. But I know.” She smiles reassuringly. “I feel it every day. And I want to feel like this forever. Until the end of days.”
Your mind races and your hands start getting sweaty as she suddenly lets go of yours, leaving you a shaking mess.
Before you can process what is happening, Kathryn goes down on one knee, looking up at you and takes your hand again.
“I know we haven’t been together for a long time, but you are my home. You allow me to be myself. You give me a purpose. And I don’t ever want to be without you again.”
She reaches behind herself without breaking the eye contact and makes a small box appear from in between the couch cushions. Opening it, she looks right at you, the biggest smile on her face.
“Y/N… Would you do me the honor… and marry me?”

POST CREDIT SCENE
———————————
“Mommy?” A small voice comes in through the half opened bedroom door.
Kathryn groans, nudging you softly into your side.
You sigh. “He wants you, honey. Please talk.”
Taking in a deep breath, the brunette slowly sits up and looks at the little silhouette standing in the dim ray of light coming in from the hallway. “What’s up, buddy?”
The little boy rubs his eyes, pushing his hair behind his ears. “Mommy, I think the man in the moon is gone. Can we go have a look? I’m too afraid to go alone.”
You chuckle to yourself, glad to finally hear Kathryn move. “Of course, baby, thank you for not going outside alone.”
She notices how eagerly the child nods when she gets closer to him, his little hand already reaching up to her. There is a big grin on his face and his eyes blink in excitement. “I hope he is still there! He is my friend.”
Kathryn nods, still fighting her sleep and walks down the hallway, hand in hand with your son. She realizes it might be too cold outside in the middle of the night, so she takes him back to his room and opens the blinds again. Picking him up, they both look out of the window now.
“He is there,” the little boy exclaims in excitement, “hello my friend!”
His tiny hand waves towards the moon and Kathryn’s heart bursts from all the love she feels. She turn towards the child in her arms and kisses his cheek. “See. And now we say good bye and go back to bed.”
“Good bye!”
