i think the biggest issue in the "diva is dead but don't blame sekai for xyz reasons" argument is like yes of course, but literally everything about "blaming" sekai aside. i don't want to play sekai as a rhythm game. it's being put forward by the fanbase as like, some sort of replacement but the story and new characters don't come close to saving it for me and the rhythm game mechanic is not interesting! if you're into tile tap rhythm games then that's great but it's not a diva equivalent!! at all!! project diva is a proper rhythm game, you use literally all the buttons on your controller, it's hard and takes practice and you have to actually learn it. people (myself included) have put hours into learning and playing diva, you can't just be like well sekai is the new vocaloid rhythm game, suck it up and have at it, when that hasn't been the case from the start. if i WANTED to play a tile tap rhythm game i would download literally any other gacha mobage that's idol themed lol. there's no actual diva replacement and THAT'S why people are upset

#like i don't think it's 100% the fault of sekai but like. okay #was making a mediocre gacha mobage while the company in financial trouble really the BEST move #i don't even like that they're implying it's related to project diva because of the “project” label there's no real technical concept in it #or relation really!#diva games are really unique rhythm games #as most console games are but the way the charcters functioned within them as well as the unique 3d pvs were super unique and fleshed out #sekai is not a voca rhythm game to me it's just a game that happens to use the songs that i dont want to play bc i hate gacha lol #i think when people are upset about the alleged slow death of diva the move shouldnt be to be like erm play this gacha game. like #i don't. want to? like i could if i wanted to bc it's free but i don't it's not the type of rhythm game i like to play and also once again #dont fw gacha really. i shouldnt have to play a game with a gambling mechanic to get my rhythm game fix im SORRY but that's sad!#i think being like well it saved the company! when what saved it was ppl draining their banks into it is like. not a great look to me #vocathoughts
