obvious thoughts but. it hits me sometimes how much the belief in something after death (or that we live on in some other way) can influence a person's views on so many things
#the influence of a belief in a hell/heaven or karmic justice or judgement or reincarnation etc is huge#when it comes to ideas about justice and revenge or karma etc#also ik its not any easier to deal w death even if you believe you'll be reunited with your loved ones but. it is a different mindset#like when you truly believe you'll never see someone you've lost again versus holding out hope/believing you'll be reunited someday#the latter is a powerful motivator - if you truly believe it#sadly im in the former camp...sometimes i wish i could convince myself that people ive lost are not just completely gone but. i can't#and i dont think its just a coping mechanism for all. there are people who truly believe it
