Sinbad was such a weird film tho, like they wanted to adapt it but basically adapted Damon and Pythias instead, before deciding it was going to be this comedic love triangle...so like it has absolutely nothing in common to the source material askdjfh but also it does fuck hard b/c bisexual love triangle. <3 <3 <3

#they were riding that weird orientalist aladdin high i guess #idk maybe they thought it'd be a smash hit b/c it was in the same vein as 1001 nights but also #the commitment to the source material at an all time low #but that being sad i was hooked on that romance as a kid #it stuck with me #the epic highs and lows of ur childhood best friend putting his life on the line for you #meanwhile ur on an epic fucking adventure with his fiance and she's hot as hell and cooler than you could have ever imagined #but ur also in a contract with a malevolent n powerful deity who expects u to not only betray ur best friend #but also his fiance and who u just realized ur crushing on kinda hard #and everyones lives depends on you #but you've also spent ur whole life fucking and trucking and running away from responsibility #that you have no idea if you can change this late into the game #maybe you're no better than the infamous pirate you've built yourself to be #but also #maybe you could be better #for your lover back home who's life rests in ur hands #for his fiance who is fighting alongside you putting herself at equal risk #for your found family and friends #for yourself even #ughhhhh <3 <3 #throwing up #they didn't know how fucking romantic this shit was b/c #but i did #i do #i see u #okay im done here
