you raised very good points about commissions. my process and quality isn't good or efficient enough to match with the price point i want to sell it at, so it makes commissions hard. i think for genshin we're quite lucky in a sense they have explicitly made it ok so long as it is within a certain amount of quantity (for physical merch) or not more than certain amount, but it is a tricky situation for other fandoms. plus, expectations is a whole other bag of worms. i always dreamed of commercializing my work but perhaps maturity is knowing it's okay to just write for funsies.

i thought i had a good grasp of mondstadt's lore until the whole quest with the upside down statue. i've never understood mondstadt ever since then LOL. in fact, mondstadt looks so innocent but it's probably the most sus nation because of the characters living in mondstadt (albedo, lisa, kaeya, VENTI. he's hiding so many things & acting all ehe i know it).

I didn't know they explicitly said making money off of fan work was okay! I mean, I kind of guessed because they even sponsor some fan work. I think that's actually really smart and cool that they do that. That'll put me at ease if I ever setup commissions or the like for my Genshin Impact fanfics. (Unlikely, but good to know.)

Yeah, I remember thinking Mondstadt lore was pretty deep but then I remember the research I did into some of Inazuma's lore and there was a lot there too. There's just so much world building in the game that I can't keep track of it all lol. And I agree about them being sus, especially Venti. I'm still wondering what Albedo meant about preventing him from destroying Mondstadt??? Like??? Are we going to resolve that anytime soon??? I hope we get something like a Mondstadt part two soon. Probably during an interlude quest? Maybe?
