DIVYA BHARTI - BEFORE & AFTER.
Be only natural to get a little excitedly curious, especially being a film historian, upon receiving news, that an 18 yr old girl, who's just officially worked for 2 yrs in Bollywood, has amassed a whopping 15 Hindi film releases in those 2 yrs alone (2 releasing post death), 24 films in all 3 yrs, & who till date holds the world record of sorts of having the most (13) films on floor as absolute rank newcomer (just on basis of one South hit at age 15), moreover, that lands up in those 2 yrs garnering quality, enough to beat many veterans over the entire decade's film tally..what more, to as we now know, emerge as Queen of the 90's at Indies!
Thus setting upon my minimum research, trying to know more about this wonder-girl, & as it would turn to, about her untimely teenage death, a death that evidently till today, per broadcast news clippings of interviews with Divya's late parents, kept meandering to point of making them irritated, around the sheer mystery of it.
& Watching all that archive footage past 2 days (ppl like me were little too young to follow msm news, let alone entt news, then), & I challenge anyone today trying to fetch those news archives available all over Youtube, to also not feel the same way, making one instantaneously draw comparisons with SSR!
For except for being polar opposites as people, & to be fair, in success scales, everything else SOUNDS so similar- same kinda terrace flat, same rush just before her demise to buy a new flat (for whatever reasons) elsewhere, same technical improbabilities to contend with (more glaring with SSR, from reports of forensic doctors on Times Now & Republic Tv, of the kinda hanging marks being impossible if from natural hanging or the online postmortems from international experts showing heavy beating marks all over his body, but even in Divya's case making one wonder, are non-grilled flats in Mumbai really so designed, that if a 5ft 3.5" girl "loses her grip on railing, while turning away from window" (even if little drunk) (I mean, she'd been home for just half an hour,& after being at her parents's house just prior, & dropped home by her bro!), that she entirely falls off the window itself ?? (Btw,amazingly,no eyewitnesses too, despite atleast 2 friends & maid at home then!) (The childhood maid too dies just month later of apparent heart attack)
..And just like SSR, with no suspects in anyone's mind, nor any concrete obvious motives, aside wild speculation, till today.
But making us also wonder, just what drama 've ensued,if death of this bonafide All-Time Superstar 've been in social media age!!
Also the same Divya, we strongly suspect, hinted upon by Rajesh Khanna in his cryptic dying messages - as having been the victim of 'supari murder' at hands of few of her jealous colleagues!
So RIP Divya Bharti. Have no doubts, this lady 've competed to be in Indies All-Time Top 50-75 Actresses,if just 15-20 films left incomplete & scrapped, on day of death, were allowed fruition, by destiny.
But even w/o destiny on her side, that's already been made immortal in film lore & in the loving eyes of 100s of millions of her fans across the world!
🙏
P.S. Did You Know-
What is the relationship btwn Divya Bharti & Hanif Kadawala?
Hanif is the co-producer of one of Divya's earliest films signed, 'Dil Hi To Hai', started in ~Sept 1989, who it turns out was also a big time underworld gang member, convicted for supplying illegal guns-grenades to Dutt's house with others, before March 12 1993 serial Mumbai blasts, for which was jailed & released after 5 yrs on bail, only to be killed in 2001, apparently by Chhota Rajan gang as revenge for blasts.
Divya's terrace flat theory has more than substance afterall!

Nirbhaya convicts to be hanged together, not separately: High Court
New Post has been published on https://apzweb.com/nirbhaya-convicts-to-be-hanged-together-not-separately-high-court/
Nirbhaya convicts to be hanged together, not separately: High Court
New Delhi: All the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case are to be executed together and not separately, the Delhi High Court held on Wednesday while setting a week’s deadline for them to avail of the remaining remedies. If the convicts choose not to make any type of petition in seven days from now, the institutions/ authorities concerned will deal with the matter, as per the law, without further delay, it said.
Justice Suresh Kumar Kait refused to accept the Centre’s contention to set aside a trial court’s January 31 order relating to the common execution of death warrants of the convicts.
The Centre and the Delhi government had challenged the trial court’s January 31 order staying “till further orders” the execution of all the four convicts in the case — Mukesh Kumar Singh (32), Pawan Gupta (25), Vinay Kumar Sharma (26) and Akshay Kumar (31), who are lodged in Tihar Jail.
“Since up to the Supreme Court, their fate has been decided by a common order and judgment, therefore, in view of the facts of…, I am of the considered view that death warrants of all the convicts be executed together but not separately,” the judge said.
The high court was critical of the delay caused by the authorities in executing death warrants and the delay tactics adopted by the convicts to frustrate the warrants.
“I have no hesitation to say that after dismissal of criminal appeals on May 5, 2017 by the Supreme Court, nobody had bothered to execute the death warrants. They waited for the reasons best know to them, till Mukesh filed review petition before the Supreme Court on November 6, 2017 after 186 days and the same was dismissed on July 9, 2018,” the judge said.
The court noted that Vinay and Pawan filed review petitions on December 15, 2017 which were dismissed on July 9, 2018.
“Even thereafter, all authorities concerned were sleeping and waited till Akshay filed petition, with 950 days delay, on December 10, 2019 and the same was dismissed on December 18, 2019. However, convicts are taking shelter of the Article 21 of the Constitution which is available to them till their last breath,” it said.
The court said it cannot be disputed that the convicts have adopted delay tactics to frustrate the warrants and noted that Pawan has not filed curative petition and mercy petition, after dismissal of his review petition by the apex court on July 9, 2018.
“Therefore, in the interest of justice, I hereby direct the convicts to take steps if they wish to make any type of petition before any institutions/authorities available under law within one week from today, failing which this Court expects from the institutions/authorities concerned to deal, as per the law applicable on delay, if any, without further delay,” the judge said.
The court said it cannot be disputed that “all convicts have been found to be guilty of a horrible, ghastly, gruesome and heinous offence of rape coupled with a bone chilling murder of a young girl which shocked the conscience of the society at large”.
“However, so long as life lasts, so long shall it be the duty and endeavour of the Court to give to the provisions of our Constitution a meaning which will prevent human suffering and degradation.
“Therefore, Article 21 (right to life and personal liberty) is as much relevant at the stage of execution of the death sentence as it is in the interregnum between the imposition of that sentence and its execution. The essence of the matter is that all procedure, no matter what the stage, must be fair, just and reasonable,” it said.
The court also referred to the apex court’s verdict in the case of Yakub Abdul Razak Memon, who was executed for his role in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, in which it was observed that the law permits the convict to move a subsequent mercy petition even after dismissal of mercy petition case of change in circumstances.
“Thus, convict Mukesh cannot be adversely segregated from the similarly placed convicts simply because he has been sincerely and earnestly pursuing his legal remedies,” it said.
The court said as per the Prison rules, it was clear that if the appeal or application of one of the convicts is pending, the death sentence of all the convicts shall be postponed till the order on the appeal/application comes.
It is also mentioned in the proviso that if a petition for mercy has been submitted, the execution of the sentence shall further be postponed pending the orders of the President thereon.
“In said proviso, it is nowhere mentioned that if mercy petition of one convict is pending, the death sentence of other co-convicts shall be executed,” the court said.
The trial court had on January 7 issued black warrants for the execution of all the four convicts in Tihar jail at 7 AM on January 22. However, they could not be hanged due to pendency of mercy petition of one of them.
On January 17, the trial court fixed February 1, 6 AM as the hanging date and time.
On January 31, the trial court again stayed the execution as the counsel for three convicts — Pawan, Vinay and Akshay — urged it to adjourn the matter “sine die” saying their legal remedies were yet to be exhausted.
While the mercy pleas of Mukesh, Vinay and Akshay have been rejected by the President, Pawan has not yet filed it.
Nirbhaya, 23-year-old paramedic student, was raped and brutally assaulted on the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012 inside a moving bus in south Delhi by six persons, before being thrown out on the road. She died on December 29, 2012.

Dawood aide & key accused in 1993 Mumbai blasts held
The Gujarat Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested an aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and a key accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts late on Thursday night, an official said on Friday. Ahmed Shaikh, 52, a resident of Mumbai, was arrested from Pardi in Gujarat’s Valsad district. Acting on a tip-off, Gujarat ATS officials maintained a watch in the coastal area on Thursday night and subsequently arrested Shaikh. After verifying his identity, ATS officials took Shaikh to Ahmedabad. Shaikh, who had a red corner notice issued against him, will be handed over to the CBI in Mumbai as he was wanted by them.
Shaikh is accused of being part of a meeting organised by Dawood at his bungalow — White House in Dubai — to hatch a conspiracy to carry out a series of bomb blasts in 1993 in Mumbai. Along with Shaikh, a few others, identified as Salim Kutta, Yusuf Batka, Shoeb Baba, Saiyed Qureshi and Abubakar, were also present in the meeting at Dawood’s house, officials said. The officers also claimed that Shaikh underwent arms training in Pakistan and also learnt how to plant bomb in the vehicles at the behest of Dawood. The ATS has accused Shaikh of being part of the landing of ammunition, including AK 56, ignition device and RDX at Dighi jetty in Raigad district of Maharashtra. He is also accused of dispatching arms and ammunition to different people at different places.
The CBI had issued a lookout notice against Shaikh and the Interpol had issued a red corner notice against him. The CBI had announced Rs 5 lakh for any information or clue regarding Shaikh. Gujarat ATS SP Himanshu Shukla said, “Our local informer had given us a tip-off, following which our team caught Shaikh from Valsad. We have intimated the CBI Mumbai about him and they will arrest him after a couple of hours. Shaikh was staying in Dubai after the blasts. His wife and children live in Mumbai.”
ATS sources said that Shaikh also possesses two passports for travelling abroad. Before coming in contact with Dawood, Shaikh worked with Mustufa Majnu alias Mustafa Dossa, who was convicted for his role in the 1993 blasts by the TADA court in Mumbai after being extradited from UAE. Dossa died in June 2017 of chest infection while serving his term. The series of bomb blast in Mumbai on March 12, 1993 had killed over 257 people, injured 713 people and caused damage to property worth crores of rupees.

1993 Mumbai serial blasts: Death for 2, Abu Salem, Karimullah Khan get life
Mumbai: Two of the five convicts in the 1993 Mumbai serial blast case, Taher Merchant and Feroze Khan, were on Thursday sentenced to death by a special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act court. The two others, Abu Salem and Karimullah Khan were sentenced to life in jail, said media reports. Another convict, Riyaz Siddiqui, was sentenced to 10 years in jail. On March 12, 1993, serial blasts in the city killed 257 and left over 713 injured.
The media reports said that the sentencing comes after extensive arguments were made by the prosecution and defence since June 16 when the court had convicted Salem, Merchant, Feroze and Karimullah on charges of criminal conspiracy , murder and indulging in acts of terrorism that cause death. Siddiqui was found guilty on the lesser charge for abetting and aiding terrorism.
While CBI special public prosecutor Deepak Salvi sought the death sentence for Merchant, Feroze and Karimullah, he pressed for life sentences against Salem and Merchant.
The charge against Salem could have attracted the maximum punishment. But since he was extradited from Portugal in 2005, a Lisbon court has held that he cannot be awarded death here. Salem, though his lawyer, has also argued that he cannot be jailed for more than 25 years as assured by the Indian government.
Key conspirator Mustafa Dossa, 60, against whom Salvi had also sought the death penalty, died pending sentencing. The case against him has since abated and there will be no sentence pronounced against him.
Qayyum Shaikh, 64, behind bars for almost 11 years, was acquitted for lack of evidence. This trial of seven was the second in the 1993 case.
The main trial of 123 accused ended in 2006 with the conviction of 100. Yakub Memon, brother of prime absconding accused Tiger Memon, was hanged in 2015, and the others have served or are serving time.
Salvi said trial for the seven, arrested between 2003 and 2010, had to be separated as they were nabbed after a substantial portion of the previous trial was completed. With no other accused currently in custody, the verdict will be the last in the case for now. Thirty-three accused are absconding, including key conspirators Dawood Ibrahim, his brother Anees Ibrahim, Mustafa’s brother Mohammed Dossa and Tiger Memon.
