Day 7: Purple
Tumblr media
CLASS ACT ch 2 on A03
Summary: School’s finally out.  Rated T+
Their tangled bodies fell together in a heap of sweaty exhaustion, clinging on as the world around them slowly fell back into place. Kagome's head finally stopped swimming, but she was still catching her breath, and the heavy rise and fall of his scalding chest beneath her cheek told her he was as well.
When the last stars sparkled from her vision; the fingers buried in thick, wild strands gave a gentle tug that forced her to look up.
"Look at you," she croaked, nuzzling deeper in his embrace, "So smug. It just slipped."
"So much for your restraint."
Those long, talented fingers lazily worked through the knots he'd put there. His own hair was no better, and she braved the arrogance she spent the last two hours feeding just to take another glimpse of the rare, disorderly sight.
Too rare, she sighed. At least lately.
She rolled on top of him to put her face in his own; the challenge in her eyes caused his eyebrow to lift.
Soft lips drifted to his ear. "Bet you can't make me say it again," she whispered before heatedly kissing the abused flesh, sucking on his lobe.
Warm hands smoothed over her backside, squeezing roughly when she rotated her hips. He rocked into the friction that stirred his arousal once again, releasing a guttural groan when skillful lips moved down his neck.
"Hn, I have worked too long around children to not identify such a childish ploy, Miss Higurashi."
Lean legs parted, pinning him between her knees and she rested her forehead heavily atop his own. Blue eyes looked innocently into his, batting dark lashes against his heavy lids.
"Does that mean you are going to discipline me, Principal Taisho?" she taunted, squirming into him again.
She let out a delightful shriek when he made firm contact with her ass, which became a pleasured gasp as he soothed the erotic sting with the offending palm. She threw her head back, encouraging the attention as he feasted on her throat to a chorus of breathy moans and sighs.
When she tried to rise up on her knees, a swift maneuver toppled her, so she was trapped half-way beneath him.
"You are in for a long night," he promised lowly. "I will ensure you are hydrated."
As he tried to pry himself off, she clung to him in protest. He returned for a kiss.
"I will not have you passing out from exhaustion before I am through with you."
Another slap reddened her other cheek, and she finally let him rise, rolling onto her back with a satiated smile.
Scooting to sit against her headboard, Kagome watched on fondly as he took a couple of tall glasses into the bathroom and busied himself at the sink. His chiseled body was covered with bitemarks and bruises, and she admired her handiwork in the various shades of purple littering his long, pale form.
"I meant it, you know."
He looked up from the glass he was filling, lips quirked. "I know."
The smile they shared relayed much more than the lust they'd spent the better part of the evening celebrating. But the circumstances of their relationship forced too much to go unsaid as it was.
"I've really missed you this week."
The hint of sadness in her voice reflected in his gaze, making her feel guilty.
"I will endeavor to make the next more accommodating, lest we find ourselves both seeking employment."
He was only half-joking, but it was clear that ignoring their desires at work was impossible if they couldn't find at least some time together during the week.
She hated those rules, but she loved this job. And she had only just started there. She didn't know if his tenor made the situation better for him, or worse.
"Maybe me, but they won't fire you."
"I am your superior," he said, and shut off the sink. "I am held to a higher standard."
"Don't think that's not how I'll plead my case if we get caught, either." She grinned cheekily as he walked back in the room, a full glass of water in each hand.
"Don't think I will not support those claims."
She was only kidding, but Kagome truly believed she was the only one in danger of getting put up on the chopping block if their colleagues found out about them. At the very least, his job would be spared.
His reputation, on the other hand...
Not that hers would be any better, but that was the more likely consequence of their torrid little affair.
At least, she had to believe it was. She didn't know if she could carry on like this if she thought their actions might ruin him. Speaking of which...
"I meant to ask; did you get ahold of Kagura?"
He rounded the bed carefully with his cargo, looking too stoic not to be uncomfortable with the topic.
He'd pointedly avoided discussing her, though she suspected it was for as his benefit just as much as hers. But enough time had passed, and she didn't want to avoid anything when it came to him.
She'd proven that just thirty minutes ago.
"Unfortunately, I missed her at pick up this afternoon- despite the messages I left."
He handed her a glass and took a seat on the edge of the bed while she greedily gulped it down.
"I called three times, and she has yet to respond," he said, and paused halfway to bringing the water to his lips. "Though considering how we left things, it is not entirely unexpected."
Seeing how much this daunted him, she felt guilty for troubling him with it. But she knew he would have wanted her to.
She began rubbing his back supportively.
"I hope she does, for Rin's sake. You're her daughter's principal; she can't avoid you forever."
He sighed, placing his empty glass next to hers. "You are right, of course, but the wounds are still fresh." At her insistence, he stretched out beside her on the bed, pulling her close as she happily nuzzled into the embrace.
"Regardless, if need be, I shall pay her a visit. Though I hope it does not come to that."
"Me too." She smiled deviously, sliding her body over his. "But I have to say; it's really sexy how you go above and beyond for your students."
Mischief returned to his eyes, staring back at her through sodden, silver bangs. She gyrated, hands smoothing over the planes of his broad chest as he arrested her arms in his grip.
"Let us not forget all I do for the teachers," he rumbled, craning forward.
Before their lips met, she pushed him back.
"I hope I'm the only one getting such special attention."
"Of course," he said, and leaned towards her again. This time, he landed a kiss.
When she pulled away after only a quick moment, he was not discouraged, affirming his hold and busying himself at the hollow of her throat.
"Hm, I don't know," she grinned. "I see you talking to Kaede an awful lot in the lounge..."
A muffled noise vibrated against her, making the hands at his shoulders clutch tightly.
"Merely a decoy," he removed his lips long enough to say, "to divert from the tawdry affair I am having with the pretty, young new hire."
She giggled as he returned to kissing her neck, but they became breathier as he grew more assertive.
"So scandalous," she gasped. "I'm starting to think you didn't hire me on account of my exemplary credentials."
"Of course, I did," he said, dragging his mouth over salty, heated skin. "Though I must admit, that was not the reason I insisted on taking you to lunch on your first day."
She feigned incredulity, forcing him onto his back.
"You mean, you don't take all the new teachers to the nicest restaurant in town to welcome them aboard?"
"No." He kissed her again. "Nor do I invite them to my personal residence for celebratory drinks, offer to help them move into their new apartment or... any of the numerous events that took place afterward."
She rested her full weight atop him, batting innocent blue eyes in his face once again.
"Except Kaede," she asserted.
She shrieked when he flipped them effortlessly, a mixture of giggles and screams as he pinned her beneath his body and let her punishment finally commence.
They continued long into the night, along with a myriad of other noises that made him glad he got her hydrated.

A/N: That's SessKag Week! I wish I could have given you guys (and myself) closure on all these stories, but I'm actually pretty syked I managed to post everyday. I couldn't quite make it last year, and I did not think I'd have more than 3 days to contribute when the week began. I was literally writing until the moment I posted on these, so it was pretty exciting! I learned a lot about what I can get done if I really push, and don't worry about perfection (or whatever my version of that is lol) So, I have this story and Greener Pastures to finish, along with another installment to Transparent (Opaque). Which would you like to see first? I'll see what i can do.
And for those of you screaming WTF? FINISH RENDEZVOUS ALREADY! or UPDATE VICE; don't worry! I did not abandon them. I was just trying to get through this week, and then I swear I will get back to those. Sometimes space from a story makes it better, and i think you're gonna be glad i let it settle.
Thanks for reading!  I have a ton to catch up on.
Oh yeah, and Feudal Connection is having their Inuyasha awards rn on Tumblr. So you can go vote for the fics and art you like for a bit longer.

my whole trajectory's toward you, and it's not losing momentum (call it anything we want)
Summary: Anthony had expected a certain amount of trouble when he took over managing the Danbury campaign. He didn’t imagine this amount. He didn’t imagine that it might at some point become something other than trouble.
There was mention of rival political campaign managers Kate and Anthony and even though I couldn’t quite get there - or make a scene happen which directly featured Newton 😔 - I did manage rivals and political campaigning. So here’s something to serve as incentive, congratulation, or brief respite depending on how far @thesokovianaccords has gotten in her grad school application process. Sorry if it’s a bit OOC, Livia - maybe it’s just the right degree to make sense in a modern AU? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tumblr media
A week into running Dr. Danbury’s campaign, Anthony realizes that he has made a grave error in allowing himself to give in when his mother requested “a bit of a favor.”
At the time she’d asked, he had just gotten the news that his previous candidate was dropping out of his own race for health reasons, and of course, Dr. Danbury has been a fixture for his entire life so he might well have stepped up merely because she needed help (despite knowing that the reason she needed the help was that she’d fired her entire previous campaign team). Besides that, he has rarely been able to deny his mother anything, and that’s even before she brings up the number of hours she spent in labor with him (twenty-two, as he well knows by now) but still...he damn well should have ignored all that this time.
For his money, the most annoying part of not being listened to by the candidate is that her instincts have mostly served her well. Three days after he started, she ignored the common wisdom of maintaining decorum and not insulting the opposition which he had reminded her of before she went on camera, and had only benefited from it; apparently the majority of the constituency agreed that the particular candidate she had been asked about was indeed a “first class wanker who should pray nightly for the brains God gave a goose.” At least she had heeded Anthony’s advice to refer to the man as “my opponent” rather than using his name and giving him free advertising in the soundbite as it was played on nearly every news broadcast for the next several days.
“Well, we seem to have come out of this one all right,” she says, sipping her coffee and looking just the slightest bit smug - he doesn’t lie to candidates, so he had been obliged to report that the latest polling numbers actually went up after the incident. “Anything else, Bridgerton?”
Swallowing the speech he wants to give about how easily things could shift during a campaign, not to mention the difference between what people told a pollster and how they actually cast their votes, he says, “Perhaps we might look to hire a policy director, ma’am? To help...guide the campaign a bit more?”
“If we did, I should wonder what I had hired you for.” She looks at him over the tops of her glasses as if she can tell he is dreaming of responding that ah, well, it seems he is unnecessary, and perhaps he will just excuse himself from the position now. He makes sure his expression remains neutral and finally she waves a hand. “Well, let me see some names and CVs after the weekend, and I shall decide then.”
“Very good.” He extremely purposefully does not sigh until he is out of her office and striding along the corridor of their campaign headquarters. There are plenty of people who will take a call from him on short notice and who will back him with the candidate. Yes, if he can’t quit altogether (and he can’t if he wants his regular seat at Christmas dinner) then having someone in his corner is just the ticket.
He arrives for work on Monday even earlier than his traditional first thing in the morning, wondering to himself whether it will be better to simply present his top applicants or if he should throw in a decoy or two to make his choices shine even brighter - although perhaps that’s just the sort of ploy that the candidate would sniff out in a heartbeat after a career of wrangling university students. Still debating, he turns the corner toward his office, only to find Dr. Danbury in the hall outside, speaking with someone. Anthony doesn’t recognize the person from the back, can only see a fall of shiny, dark hair, so he guesses it is one of the volunteers, perhaps someone new who has arrived early for orientation. He hopes that Dr. Danbury isn’t being too intimidating.
“Ah, Bridgerton,” the lady in question calls down the hallway, and something about her tone makes Anthony’s spine go straight. “Good morning.”
Still, he clings to his good mood as he greets her. “Let me put my things down, and then we can go over your schedule for the day. And I have those CVs you had requested as well.”
“Nevermind those,” she says, and the little smile on her lips makes every one of his nerves stand on end. “Did you know that your mother and I went out for a drink on Friday evening? Oh, yes, we had a wonderful time, and your brother Colin came around to escort us home. Such a lovely boy, had some delightful stories about his trip to Greece - and so interested in the campaign. In fact, he had a brilliant thought when I mentioned your idea for bringing on someone new to help shape things alongside the two of us.”
Whatever virtues his brother Colin might possess, interest in the campaign is absolutely not among them. Skin humming all over, Anthony manages a casual, “Oh?”
“Indeed, and luckily I was able to organize it all over the weekend so you wouldn’t have to do a thing.” She gestures toward her companion, and with a sick swoop in his stomach, Anthony knows who he is going to see before she shifts around.
“I believe you two have met before?” Dr. Danbury says, voice fading just a bit beneath the static in Anthony’s ears as Kate Sheffield turns to face him.
Tumblr media
They have not actually met before, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t know of each other.
The first time Anthony heard her name, it was her sister saying it - about twenty times in a row, if he’s being honest. He met Edie Sheffield two years back at one of his mother’s galas. Edie ran a different prestigious kids charity than the one Mum was fundraising for, so he’d wondered if inviting her was somehow inviting the enemy or maybe bragging. But Edie was sweet, and passionate about her job, and looked absolutely gorgeous in sapphire satin, and he settled into a night of getting her drinks and chatting her up, despite the fact that she didn’t seem as interested in speaking with him as she did in mentioning that he really must talk with her sister.
He’d stayed the night in the hotel where the gala had been held (alone, in one of the rooms which had been set aside for guests from the event; he’d put Edie in a car at about 11) and was planning on taking his mother to breakfast after she came down from her own room. When he went to check out, however, the desk attendant handed him a message which had been taken down for him on hotel stationary.
Dickheads like you shouldn’t try to get with my sister. Don’t do it again.
KS
“Is there anything else that I can assist you with?” asked the attendant, holding onto her poker face remarkably. Perhaps they taught that in hospitality programs.
He’d crushed the note in his hand before smoothing his own face placidly and handing over his credit card. His mother was all smiles and chatter during breakfast, but his mind was still on the note, which seemed to have burned itself behind his eyelids.
Dickheads like you - oh, so only other types of dickheads need apply? And get with? Were they twelve years old and couldn’t use grownup words? Not to mention the signature, such as it was. Trying to play mafia boss, expecting that he’d know who had sent it. He did, but it took a lot of bloody gall to assume that he would.
Not as much gall as Don’t do it again. He couldn’t even think of that part, the demeaning certainty of it, without a certain vein beginning to throb in his forehead.
In the two years since, he found himself falling back into analysis of the note - it was barely more than a dozen words, so how could there still be so much to parse? - whenever her name came up, which became more and more frequent as she moved from nothing campaigns in the most forgotten corners of the country to deputy deputy whatever on somewhat more consequential ones. She was gaining a reputation among his peers. They said she was smart and canny, that she had a knack for looking at the bigger picture and acting on her instincts.
(Someone who’d once worked with her had also mentioned that it helped that she didn’t have a high opinion of her looks, didn’t flaunt herself the way some women did around the office - she certainly didn’t have a reason to do so, but sometimes that didn’t stop them.
“Oh, be fair,” said the other man. “She does have quite a nice—”
They’d shut up when he’d walked into the room - everyone knew better than to talk that way around him, and it wasn’t just because of “all those sisters” the way some people said. Eloise had been interning with the campaign that summer, and for the rest of the day while he’d talked with human resources, he’d let her make mistakes on all of their lunch and coffee orders and give them the wrong data for their reports when they’d made her look it up instead of doing it themselves. When he’d fired them, he spread the word on why, but left the particulars out of it.)
The note returns to his mind whenever someone new has their one experience of suggesting Kate Sheffield as a potential hire, or when he thinks he’s seen her in the background of some press conference or event for another candidate, or if he runs into Edie at another charity function, where he absolutely does not flirt with her just that extra bit harder while part of his mind thinks Your move directly toward her sister who he has never actually met in person.
Until now.
“We’re acquainted,” he tells Dr. Danbury, managing to remain polite by avoiding Kate’s gaze. He leaves it at that.
Tumblr media
They’re the first two in the conference room for the all-staff the next morning, and somehow he’s not surprised.
“Good morning,” he says as he comes in to find her over by the coffee. She’s doctoring it significantly, clearly already familiar with the quality to be found in a campaign office. He always buys his own; he can’t stand the amount of milk and sugar and oddly flavored creamers required to make the other stuff palatable (and don’t even get him started on the alleged tea).
Tone cool, she replies, “Mr. Bridgerton,” and takes a sip from her mug.
It isn’t as if the staff goes around calling him “Tony” or “boss,” and only the most knock-kneed newcomers call him “sir.” He’s Anthony to most. He has no inclination to correct her.
He works to keep his tone casual and courteous as usual when he introduces her to everyone (“And this is Kate Sheffield, who will be doing some consulting for us”) but something about it must catch Dr. Danbury’s attention, because she raises an eyebrow at him from her end of the table and rests both hands atop her stick.
The fact that the candidate is aware that something is going on between the two of them makes it all the more exasperating when two days later she signs off on Kate’s media and advertising plan over his own. He shows up for dinner with Daphne and Simon that evening as planned, knowing that Daphne would be completely willing to pull the pregnancy card if he tried to get out of it, but she sends him home before the waiter has brought the dessert menus because he keeps muttering about how more people travel by tube and railways and for longer distances but are more likely to take more individual rides on buses and what that means for posting print ads.
(The numbers are seared into his mind, considering she’d included a full breakdown with three kinds of graphs and bloody footnotes in her presentation.)
Getting released from the restaurant early gives him extra time to go back to the office for a bit and put together a preliminary get out the vote strategy. He calls in several favors as a part of it, including one from an old friend of his father’s who asks incredulously, “Really? For this?” clearly wondering whether Anthony’s reputation is deserved if he’s pulling out all the stops for something so routine.
It’s well worth it, however, when Dr. Danbury raises an eyebrow as she looks over the document he’d put together, and tells him, “Well done, Bridgerton, very well done indeed. I think this shall do nicely.”
He does not even glance toward Kate; there really isn’t any need to gloat.
Well, one tiny peek won’t hurt.
Her jaw is set and her eyes are flinty, but she gives him just the slightest nod, as if to say that he might have won this round, but she’d like to see him try the next one.
Tumblr media
Just before three in the morning, he wakes himself, panting, from a dream that makes him think he might have to report himself for workplace sexual harassment.
“I would have hoped you’d have better self-preservation instincts,” he says aloud to his body. “Or at least better taste.”
Collapsing back against the pillows, he pushes his mind toward images of ex-girlfriends and celebrities, but no, there is Kate, strong and challenging and gorgeous above him, a vivid afterimage that refuses to go away, and he sighs and gives into it, trying to set himself to rights so he can get past this and find at least a bit more sleep.
Tumblr media
Anthony has never been the sort of boss who shouts at people in the office - he has always tended toward cold anger and “you know what you’ve done, now fix it” stares, and doesn’t intend to act differently now. But as he stalks over to Kate’s desk, he finds a fiercer anger taking over, just a bit.
“You changed my media statement,” he says, voice silken with it as he leans his palms down on her desktop and rests his weight on them. He is speaking low, the words just for her, although his eyes roam over the others moving busily around the main space of the office.
She turns her chair slightly, so that he feels the brush of her hair on his forearms where his sleeves are rolled up; it shifts his attention fully in her direction. Her hair tie had snapped earlier, and the thick topknot she tried twisting for herself has collapsed, leaving it free around her shoulders. He snaps himself back from examining the shining curls as she says, “Yes, I did.”
Part of him admires her straightforwardness, that she takes responsibility without even trying to deny it. The other part...well, the anger hasn’t exactly disappeared.
In a level tone which would have his siblings looking over in alarm, he says. “I had worked that statement out with the entire communications department.”
“The entire communications department does what you tell them to do. It’s what you pay them for.”
“And what, exactly, do I pay you for?”
They are facing each other now, their bodies a bit too close for it. She is looking directly at him, voice sharp and clear as glass. “I was hired by the candidate, to help run the campaign that she wants. Your statement was just a polite walkback of her words.”
He has the sudden thought that the brown of her eyes could be warm, that her gaze probably is warm when she’s looking at her sister or the dog whose photo she has framed on her desk (a plump, panting little corgi wearing a bright blue bow tie, absurd), but he’s never seen her that way. He’s only ever gotten this, annoyance and disdain and perhaps disappointment.
Still, he responds, “Her words need to be walked back if she wants to someday be more than the candidate. In this constituency, colonial reparations aren’t a popular enough issue to increase turnout for those who weren’t already interested, and it’s exactly the sort of thing which will put off those who were on the fence. We’re trying to flip a seat by reminding people of what their current MP is doing wrong; we have to stay on message, not muddy things with topics too few understand. Sending out a statement moderating the comment is the right move.”
“But that statement isn’t what the candidate believes, and her future constituents should know what her actual position is - they likely aren’t as stupid as you seem to think. And besides that, she has the right stance in the first place.”
In the weeks since she arrived, he’s found that the things people said of her were true: she is smart, perhaps too smart for the good of either of them, and decisive, easily seeing what’s been done and what needs to be and acting on it, the exact sort of person you would want at your side as you plot a course forward. But he hadn’t realized that she was a believer.
There are fewer idealists in politics than one might think, or at least who have risen to her level. He always finds them a bit off-putting, and it startles him even more with her - he had thought he recognized in her a sharpness and pragmatism which reminded him of his own.
“Don’t do anything like this again,” he says, trying to temper his own abruptness even as he is somewhat unsettled by the conviction in her. “Or I’ll fire you, and I don’t care what the candidate says about it.”
“I think she would have quite a lot to say in that circumstance,” Kate tells him, but she turns back to her keyboard and doesn’t argue anymore.
At least until the next day, when they end up nearly nose to nose in his office as Anthony maintains that they can’t get anyone’s hopes up with a promise of immediate action on climate change, especially considering the priorities in the party platform and the likely makeup of the next parliament, and Kate practically shouts that they’re showing people where their convictions lie and that Dr. Danbury will fight for them if she gets the chance.
When Anthony dreams of her again that night, they are not talking about policy at all. But when he wakes up, edgy and aching as he is, he finds himself hoping one day to see her smile at him the way he did in his sleep; he wants to know if her eyes really are as warm as he imagined.
Tumblr media
On Saturday, there’s such persistent nagging in the older sibling groupchat that Anthony finally gives in and agrees to leave the office for a night out. Forcing him into some allegedly relaxing activity is a time-honored tradition when they’re coming into the final stretch of a campaign; he’s certain the others have been discussing tactics in one of the numerous other chats that are always going on. (The last he’d glimpsed, the sibling group which didn’t include Gregory, Hyacinth, or himself - but did, irritatingly, include Simon - was named “Anthony’s Scary Forehead Vein.”)
“Please tell me that we aren’t going to paint ceramics again,” Anthony says as he walks, hands in his pockets, beside Benedict. Their group is too large to all move together on the sidewalk, which is a bit of a relief. “I don’t think I could put up with another night of Eloise reminding me that there are stencils if I need them.”
Benedict very narrowly and very obviously avoids laughing at him. Now that Anthony thinks about it, actually, his brother had spent that particular outing using a dozen colors to intricately decorate a mug, spending so long on it that they had nearly closed the place around him. Their mother drinks her tea from it frequently, however. “Thankfully there won’t be any pottery or painting tonight.”
“And it’s not—”
“Not a club,” Benedict assures him, then grins. “Can you imagine Simon trying to make certain no one came within a foot radius of Daph on the dance floor?”
Anthony shakes his head, looking ahead of them to where his sister and brother-in-law are walking together, not holding hands, but so close that they might as well be. He still feels a bit strange about the two of them together, especially after all the drama on the way, but he can see that they’re in love each other, even if he can’t really imagine why anyone would want to be, and they’re extremely obviously happy, so he’s trying to grow accustomed to it. He can also absolutely see Simon working himself into knots playing mosh pit bodyguard.
“So where are we going, then?” he asks, but before Benedict can answer, Eloise, broken away from her friend Penelope, tosses her arms over their shoulders and wriggles her face between them.
“You’ll just have to see,” she says, and Anthony doesn’t have to look at her to know that she is twitching her eyebrows at them. He probably could get it out of her if he tried, but he actually is finding himself feeling a little lighter being out with everyone, so he just waits and ten minutes later, they’re entering an already fairly crowded pub. Colin and Eloise go over to register them as a trivia team - or more likely to bicker over what name their team should have. As if realizing the same, Daphne squeezes Simon’s hand once and pushes over to join them.
(Her stomach is still flat, even for someone looking, but Anthony notices that she places a protective hand over it as she walks through the crush anyway.)
The rest of them go to claim a table and start putting together an order for drinks and appetizers. Anthony is leaning across, shouting a promise that if Penelope doesn’t finish her chili loaded potato wedges, they’ll certainly be taken care of, when someone behind him asks, “Excuse me, can we borrow this chair?”
“Sorry, there are more of us coming,” he says politely, turning to face the woman. She’s thirtyish and tall, but that’s all he takes in before he spots, over her shoulder, the rest of her group. They’re all chatting with each other, wearing matching T-shirts in a variety of bold colors which declare them the Quizzie Bennets, and in the center, her hair up in a ponytail and definite warmth in her eyes, is Kate. Edie stands beside her, picture perfect nose crinkled in a teasing way, but all Anthony can notice is that he’s never seen Kate in jeans like this, that the odd, bright purple of her shirt looks electric instead of ugly against the dark of her hair, and all he can think is that he never imagined her as relaxed as she is, weapons laid down.
She seems to detect his gaze then, and as she meets it he expects the weapons to be picked right back up. There’s certainly surprise, a guardedness to her eyes as they meet his, but then she narrows them in his direction, as if saying game on.
So that’s how she wants to play it, he thinks, then turns to the others and says, “No alcohol.”
Benedict blinks. “What do you mean by that?”
“In solidarity with Daphne,” Anthony offers.
“Daph does know that it’s pub trivia,” Simon says. “And she’s not—”
“Fine,” Anthony interrupts before the compliment train can get rolling. He sets his jaw. “I mean that we need to keep clear heads if we’re going to absolutely trounce everyone here.”
Penelope looks a bit alarmed by the vehemence in his tone and Simon quirks a brow, but the others are game enough - Bridgertons have always had a competitive streak, and apparently the rest of them actually chose this particular trivia night because it’s done aloud, infinite bounce style, instead of on paper.
“We play with live ammo around here,” Eloise declares gleefully once she’s returned and been updated on what she missed.
“Damn right we do,” Anthony mutters to himself, glad that he is seated with his back to Kate so he can resist the temptation to see how irritated she looks just now, or how face might be a little flushed and her ponytail loosened from the heat of everyone packed together inside…
“Who exactly do you keep looking for?” asks Colin, who’d plopped himself into the chair Kate’s teammate had asked about. He cranes obviously around, and Anthony turns firmly back to the table before his brother can follow his line of vision.
For all that they didn’t pick their team in order to be serious contenders, they do cover the bases fairly well. Anthony has politics and current events, obviously, along with history. Penelope plays backup there as well, and covers literature alongside Colin, who handily takes on geography too. (Anthony has always inwardly wondered how reasonable it was to build a career around wanderlust and Instagram and freelancing for travel magazines, but if it brings them victory tonight, he will never question again.) Benedict apparently took in more about nature than any of the rest of them who grew up in the Kentish countryside, and knows quite a bit more about art and art history than Anthony had expected. Daphne, unpredictably, knows a lot about sports - she claims that it’s what happens when you spend your life being rambled at as “another one of the boys” - and, more predictably, music.
Anthony hadn’t expected Simon’s skill with numbers to be particularly helpful, but now he’ll have to buy him a drink at some point, both for doubting and for pulling them out of a sticky situation involving Bernstein's constant. He wishes that Francesca wasn’t too young to have come out with them - there are several instances where they could have used her chiming in with quiet calm about anything related to economics or science, but they instead have to all give questionable contributions in that regard. They all chip in for pop culture, too, although Eloise is clearly the master - she actually yawns as she announces that of course the country where Monica’s boyfriend Pete Becker took her on their first date was Italy, and Anthony has never been more grateful that he lets everyone sponge off his Netflix login (although would it really kill them to not be using all the screens on the rare occasions he actually has the time and inclination to watch something?).
The trouble is that there are plenty of other teams who are clearly regulars, and they were put together in order to be serious contenders. The questions and answers are flying through the air, the quizmaster, a skinny older man with big hair shouting “Correct! For ten points,” more often than not, and most importantly, the Quizzie Bennets are availing themselves nicely. (He should have guessed as soon as he saw the matching T-shirts.)
Questions his team can’t answer correctly bounce to them next, and he can’t help but toss Kate an incredulous look after she not only answers that Angela Merkel was voted chancellor of November rather than October 2005, but also rattles off the margin for and against. Her eyes meet his as if she was expecting his glance, but she just shrugs before wrapping her lips around her straw and taking a dainty sip of her drink. He has to look away then.
Still, Team Quizerton (apparently the name that both Colin and Eloise had hated enough for Daphne to negotiate them to agreement) has done well enough that Anthony feels confident as they move into the final round.
“And what will the twist be tonight?” the excitable quizmaster asks, although he then just presses a button on his phone rather than spinning some kind of enormous wheel. His face lights up as he announces grandly, “Ah, the ladder!”
He quickly outlines the rules: each team will have five questions selected for them in ascending order of difficulty, with point values from ten to fifty. For each correct answer, they will receive the corresponding points and the option of requesting a related bonus question for half the initial question’s value. Wrong answers mean a point deduction, double for bonus questions, and the end of play for that team. You can also pass, choosing another team to answer and forfeiting further questions for yours but freezing your points where they stand.
It’s more like a game show than any trivia night that Anthony is familiar with, but he actually appreciates the strategy element; he can understand why this would be Kate’s preferred contest.
He considers giving a pep talk to the table, but all of them - except for Simon, who’s looking somewhere between vaguely amused and bored - are dialed in, ready to claim victory, so he settles back and readies himself for it too.
It happens in the final round. Anthony is just allowing himself to feel the slightest bit smug at having earned them another 75 points by not only correctly responding that Sri Lanka was the first country to have a female prime minister, but answering the bonus of her name (Sirimavo Bandaranaike) and year of election (1960) as well. The quizmaster nods, turns, and reads off the next question: “This famous playwright’s last words were reportedly ‘I knew it! I knew it! Born in a hotel room and, goddamn it, dying in a hotel room.’”
There’s a strange, deep silence, then a buzz of whispering among the Quizzie Bennets, and Anthony is struck by the realization that they don’t know the answer. He certainly doesn’t either, and a glance around at his group tells him that they would have been screwed had they gotten the question, but it doesn’t matter. Excitement licks up his throat, victory so close he can taste it…
And then Kate’s head comes up from the huddle, and her eyes meet his, and he knows exactly what she is going to do before she does it.
“Ten seconds!” says the quizmaster.
“Trust me,” Kate mouths to her teammates, and then says aloud, “We’d like to pass, and give the Know It Ales a chance to answer.”
Anthony’s mouth goes dry. Stupid team name aside, they’ve been confidently answering questions all night, and this time is no different. Their leader is nearly bored as he immediately says, “Eugene O’Neill.” And Anthony can barely hear the room around him over the blood rushing in his ears as they answer the follow-up too.
When the quizmaster declares the Know It Ales the champions for the evening, Kate slings her arms around her teammates and cheers as if he’s announced her name instead. The other Quizzie Bennets look puzzled, but when she stares defiantly at Anthony, chin raised, beaming, glowing not like she’s in the spotlight but like she’s the light itself, he somewhat suspects that she’s the winner indeed.
“Isn’t that—” Colin starts somewhere close to Anthony’s ear.
“No, it is not,” Anthony tells him firmly, and wrestles him off to pay their tab.
Tumblr media
Later that night, after he’s somewhat successfully distracted himself with work and somewhat less successfully distracted himself with looking for something to watch (why isn’t everyone asleep, and even if they are up, could they really not leave him one available screen?) he finds himself sitting on the edge of his bed with his work phone in one hand and his personal one in the other. And even though he knows exactly how bad an idea it is, he very carefully references the campaign contact group and keys one number into a new text message in his personal phone.
Sorry that this didn’t seem to be your night. Best of luck to your team next time.
He shoves out a breath and stands as soon as he’s sent it, forces himself to start getting ready for bed; she’s probably asleep now, or she might read it as rude or sarcastic and choose not to respond, and the text is just going to sit there, awkward and interminable…
There are plenty of ways to be lucky, thanks very much, and I think we found one - although I look forward to reclaiming my rightful title someday soon. See you on Monday, Bridgerton.
Regardless of what he tells himself, he can’t quite get the stupid grin off his face as he shuts off the light. He’s under no illusions about who his dreams will feature tonight.
Tumblr media
Monday night before the election, Anthony leaves the office past eleven. He rubs his eyes as he walks past dark cubicles and conference rooms - unsurprisingly, he’s the last one around - and decides that what he needs more than sleep is something to eat, and not whatever cup noodles or single egg he might come up with at home. No, he needs comfort food, something generous and hot and greasy as Benedict’s face the year he was thirteen (not that his at fifteen was much better).
His favorite hole in the wall is open until midnight, so he stumbles over there and buys the biggest order of chips he can, the enormous burger nearly an afterthought. The place is tiny and not the sort of spot that has ever even heard of ambiance, but he’s tired and the idea of waiting to get back to his flat and eating in its emptiness isn’t particularly appealing. He turns with his food in hand and finds Kate looking up at him, startled, from one of the three tables.
He could take one of the others, leave them to eat in awkward peace, or he could pretend he had always intended to have his food to go. Instead he comes over and asks, “Can I join you?”
Her capable hands moving just a note too slowly, as though giving him time to reconsider, she collects the documents from the opposite side of the table, tapping them into order as he waits patiently. She folds her fingers atop the neat stack in front of her once she’s finished, watching as he dives into his meal; he should probably be embarrassed about it, but he doesn’t really have the energy.
They talk about inconsequential things - how the weather forecast might cause trouble with voter turnout, the unfortunate office incident with Johnson and the speakerphone last week, mutual political acquaintances - and Anthony realizes that it’s the first time they’ve ever done this, just made small talk without disagreeing. Kate doesn’t lose her sharp tongue simply because they are in casual conversation, but it’s different when her remarks aren’t directed at him; hearing her pert analyses of other candidates and campaign staffers actually makes him laugh.
She’s left half a piece of cold fish and polished off more than a few of his chips (completely unthinkingly, he’s sure) when they’re informed that closing time’s come and they have to clear the table. It would be completely natural for them to part ways and see each other in the morning for another round of sparring, but he finds himself saying, “I think I might go get a drink,” and finds her answering, “I think I might join you.”
He regrets it just a bit when he’s balanced on the bar stool (he really is exhausted; this is the earliest he’s been out of the office in days) but then Kate raises her wineglass and says, “To the homestretch,” and smiles just a bit as he touches his glass to hers. The light falls cozy and dim around them and he can still see exactly how long and competent her fingers are, wrapped around the stem, the places where strands of hair have escaped their pins, trailing down to rest against her exposed throat.
Right, he thinks inanely to himself. Right, excellent, this was a good choice, and belts back his scotch before signaling for another.
“Those were your siblings?” she asks, taking a sip of her own drink. “At trivia the other night?”
“Some of them were...are…” He shakes his head, trying to straighten out his own meaning. “It was some of my siblings, the oldest four, and my brother-in-law, and my sister’s best friend.” Then, before he can stop himself, he adds, “I saw your sister was there as well.”
“Hmm,” she says, taking another sip of her cabernet, and he can see her spine stiffening, armor reasserting itself.
For the first time, he realizes that she could easily hate Edie, her younger sister - her younger half-sister, even - who is sweet and accomplished and more apparently pretty, the one people’s eyes turn to when the Sheffield girls are around, but what Kate displays is no begrudging love.
It would probably be better for him to change the topic, get them back on safer ground, but though he might be smart, he’s not necessarily wise, so he tosses back his second scotch and asks, “Why did you warn me off her the first time? You didn’t even know me.”
“Yes, but I knew of you,” she says. As always, she faces the comment head on, doesn’t even pretend not to remember exactly what he’s talking about. “I was starting in the industry, I needed to have an ear to the ground and at least a general sense of the players, and I didn’t like the sense I got about you. It didn't make me think you were the kind of person to trust with my sister.”
“I’ve never—I would never—I don’t think I’ve—” he says, stumbling, slightly stricken. He knows that there are whisper networks about the people - the men - in their field, knows exactly who some of the whispers are about and has done his best to be the type of person who helps make those whispers into shouts. It would kill him a bit to find out that he’s done something that would make someone feel the need to speak about him that way.
“Not necessarily on a personal level,” she says, suddenly gentle, then circles her finger around the rim of her glass and amends, “Well, not that way. People actually said you were very smart and a good employer, but when I learned more about your history, the jobs you’d worked on in the past, it didn’t feel like there was any principle to your choices. As if you were just willing to sell yourself to whoever asked, or at least whoever looked good on a resume. Edwina deserves more than that.”
She is looking at him extremely frankly, as if she hasn’t just shrugged away the idea of the career he’s built, but with the way she says her sister’s name, the softness of it, how she somehow makes the full, old-fashioned version more personal than the nickname - he understands that sort of devotion. Hearing it from her steals the irritation beginning to build even as she continues. “I could never even entirely figure out why you went into politics rather than something else. You’re reasonably intelligent, you could have done any number of things if you weren’t particularly invested in the issues.”
Somehow, instead of the protest he was expecting, that he was intending, what comes out is simply, “It’s the family business.”
“I’m sorry?”
“The Bridgerton Group. My father started it.” By her expression, she doesn’t think that two generations exactly makes a family legacy, but for once she holds her tongue, and his, loose with drink and exhaustion, can’t hold back.
“I grew up playing under the table at a dozen campaign offices across London and having poster mock-ups as my placemats. When I was a bit older, I was allowed to volunteer, and I loved seeing him there, in his element, listening to proposals and then telling everyone, ‘Well, here’s what we’re going to do.’” He swallows. “He—My father died, just after my first year at university, and I wasn’t old or experienced enough to take his place. The staff went off to work for other people, and all I could think about was how disappointed he would have been, to see this thing he’d built, this thing he loved, fall apart so easily. The entire time until I graduated, while I was getting experience with other consulting firms and working on other campaigns, I was just waiting until I could do justice to what he left behind for me.
“He nearly called it ABC Consulting, but my mother told him that it sounded too juvenile. My parents had me and my brothers fairly young - he was still a student when Benedict and I were born - and he wanted to name it after us.”
He realizes as soon as he’s said it that he’s only ever admitted that once before, to Simon on a similarly drunken night during their final year at school, forgetting the way that Simon and his father were, or weren’t, with each other; his friend’s face had closed up as soon as the words had left Anthony’s mouth, and they’d never talked about it again. But Kate’s face is open, listening, more than he thinks he’s ever seen from her, in such a way that he thinks he could reveal anything to her.
He could tell her about the trouble he and his brothers got up to as children, or how he likes watching baking shows to relax even though he’s not worth a damn in the kitchen, or that he can’t stop himself from adding another mile to his morning run each time he finds a gray hair. He could start talking about how complicated his feelings have grown regarding the man who was once his best friend, or about the way his entire chest had burned as his mother placed a squalling Hyacinth into his nineteen-year-old hands before closing her eyes and about how he never wants either of them to know that he’d tried to force himself not to tremble and had trembled anyway. But this isn’t the time for any of that, so he continues.
“I wanted to put it back together for him. There were candidates I took on in the early days who were stepping stones, necessary to building a reputation but who I wouldn’t work with again now that I have the reputation and the choices that come with it. And I have my own opinions on the issues - some of which might match yours more closely than you’d expect - but I’m there to make sure that the candidates who hire me succeed in getting where they want to be. I’m good at that, and I’m committed to it, and I’ve never run a campaign I wasn’t proud of. Sometimes, though, being around you, I wonder if you're going to eventually talk me into a different philosophy.”
His glass is full again though he isn’t sure when that happened, and a group of middle-aged men with ties undone and suitcases beneath their eyes fumbles past the bar behind them toward a booth, but the only thing he is paying attention to is Kate’s considering gaze on him as she absently swirls the wine remaining in her glass.
“I have the feeling,” she finally says, “that when you say a different philosophy, you consider it a more naïve one. And I’m not certain that our opinions on the issues would really match up considering that you grew up with family money.” Her voice is not arch or insulting, though, and he would certainly know.
“We were...comfortable,” he admits. She raises a waspish eyebrow in response.
“No one who’s actually middle class would ever put it like that,” she informs him. “You most definitely have a trust fund.” But she actually smiles at him, and for once he knows what it’s like to have Kate Sheffield look at him with warmth in her eyes.
He’d quite like to have that again.
Tumblr media
“Do you think—?”
“That we should dignify the remarks with a response? No, I absolutely do not.”
Anthony glares down at the article he has pulled up on his phone, then looks over at Kate, striding down the hall beside him, eating slices of peach out of a reusable container. For a moment he’s distracted from the rumormongering on behalf of one of their opposing campaigns; he thinks of Kate’s hands carefully working the knife around the fruit, of the way her tongue flicks over to catch the juice when she takes a bite…
“I could reach out,” he says, too loudly, before he walks into a wall. “I know the head of the campaign over there, I can remind him about the spirit of fair play and all that, especially this close to the finish line.”
She looks over at him incredulously, snapping the top onto her empty Tupperware. “I don’t care if you were the best man at his wedding, he’ll laugh you off the phone. I’ve had at least three listicles of our candidate’s best insults toward her opponents forwarded to me just this morning.”
“I had the feeling that wouldn’t work.” He pinches the bridge of his nose. Just three days left, for better or worse. “Fine, so we say nothing and hope that it passes out of the media cycle quickly and doesn’t do too much damage to the absentee votes.”
“As I said from the beginning.”
“You are far too determined never to let me have the last word,” he says, just the slightest bit amused, as they circle around the desks of the main office, edging their way over to hers.
She snags the toe of her ballet flat on a computer charger trailing across the floor, stumbles, but he catches her hand just in time and sets her upright again. She continues walking as if it hadn’t even happened, raising her voice enough to be heard over the chatter and buzz of phone calls as she teases, “What would be the fun in that?”
Aghast, he says, “We aren’t here to have fun, Sheffield.”
“Oh, did you actually want to win?” She tosses the empty container onto her desk as she drops into her chair, then looks up at him, swiveling slightly from side to side and shaking her head. “You really are a cliché.”
“Yeah, well, here’s another one: get to work.”
“I’m not sure that’s technically a cliché, but I suppose I could do that,” she says, with a shrug and a grin, turning toward her computer. He watches her for another few seconds, and then takes himself off to his office before he becomes too much of a cliché himself.
Tumblr media
Despite the phone call he had earlier with his mother promising her that he wouldn’t, he falls asleep on his desk the night before the election, startling himself awake hours later.
“Too bloody old for this,” he mutters to himself, grimacing as seemingly every joint and muscle in his body quite firmly announces itself when he stands. Scrubbing a hand through his hair, he gathers his things and makes his way through the darkened office.
Except it isn’t as dark as he’d expected. He scans the desks to try to figure out who left their lamp on, and finds Kate with her head resting on her arms, essentially imitating him from ten minutes prior.
Briefly, he stands there, not entirely sure what to do, but then he walks over, hand hovering by her shoulder before he gives her a light shake.
“Kate,” he says softly, crouching so he’s closer to her level. Her loose ponytail drapes over the burgundy of her blouse, quite close to his hand. He had not realized that he would recognize the scent of her, clean and straightforward with a subtly delicate edge; he should have known - he’s been smelling it in his dreams for weeks. He swallows and shakes her once more. “Kate, you should go home.”
“That was meant to be my line,” she says, far more lucidly than he would have expected. He shifts back as she stirs and sits up, massaging her fingers over her eyes. “I had the feeling that you weren’t going to leave at a sensible time, so I was planning on reminding you before I went home, only apparently I can’t leave at a sensible time either.”
“No, I suspect that sensible times to leave the office don’t involve the letters A or M,” he agrees. “Not that I would know anything about that.”
As she readies herself to leave, he tries to remember that the way she stretches out her back or takes down her hair, how she swings her bag over her shoulder, the quick, assessing way her eyes cover the room to make certain everything is in its place: all of that should be unremarkable. But there’s a moment, just the tiniest sliver of time, when she’s flicked off her desk lamp and they begin to walk out together in the glow of the emergency exit signs and the dim light of windows from other office buildings - she glances over at him, his hair rumpled, tie and briefcase dangling from one hand, and he thinks that he sees her swallow in a way that he recognizes all too well.
And then the moment is gone, and they’re out on the sidewalk, about to go their separate ways, the car he’d called for her already waiting.
“Big day tomorrow,” he says over the top of the door, holding it open as she climbs in. “Are you ready for it?”
“I’m always ready.”
He laughs, soft as the night around them. “Yes, I suppose you are. Good night, then.”
She looks at him one last time in the yellow beam of the streetlight, still a bit sleepy-eyed but no less aware for it. “Good night, Bridgerton,” she tells him, and drives away, and he can’t help but wonder about what if she hadn’t, what if he’d said something or she had made a choice, what if she didn’t drive away from him again.
Tumblr media
The day of the election is always the worst for him - all the work behind him, nothing really to be done but let the people vote. He’s in the office earlier than usual anyway, early enough that he isn't certain it was worthwhile going home, but this, at least, he can control. He manages to keep himself busy throughout the day, but it’s all just a countdown to that night.
Somehow, despite - or perhaps because of - the sleeplessness and planning and stress, it isn’t one those contests that drag on. Dr. Danbury is brought on stage at about a quarter to one alongside the other candidates; the results, when the returning officer announces them, are decisive.
She’d brushed away his offers to help or choose a staffer or hire someone to work on her speech with her; instead she’s written it herself, and although brief, it’s as firm and irreverent as she is. He suspects that no one will ever pack as much sarcasm into referring to certain colleagues as “the right honorable.”
He makes some calls and receives congratulations from his mother and siblings, who have long since ceased to find these sorts of things interesting enough to attend but who make certain to keep up from home. As Dr. Danbury frees from handshaking and small talking, he makes his way over to her.
“Congratulations, ma’am.” He holds out his hand, which she eyes with a lifted brow.
“Anthony Bridgerton, I’ve known you since you were charming people from your mother’s arms, and considering that - not to mention all we’ve been through together over these last months - I think you can stand to give me more than just a handshake.”
He hugs her, which feels odd and tells him more than anything that the campaign is over. When he pulls away from her, she pats his cheek. “Now, go celebrate. You’ve earned it. I’m certainly going to.” And she winks.
The campaign staff is making plans for drinks and dancing and even just going home to raise a glass with loved ones. He wades into the group, patting backs and shaking hands, speaking briefly to some of them, smiling all the while.
And then he sees Kate, toward the edge of the crowd, chatting with one of the young guys from finance. Edwina is beside them, likely not as inured to the excitement of the night as the Bridgertons.
Kate, the taller of the two, spots him, leaning over to say something to her sister before weaving her way over. He tips his head toward a quieter little hallway, and they go over together, leaning against parallel walls.
“Congratulations,” they say to each other at the same time, and then immediately after, “I only wanted to say—”
He nods at her to go first. It’s only polite. But there’s an unusual sort of trepidation about her face, a pause that he doesn’t expect, that makes him wonder if she wishes that he’d taken the initiative. Still, she’s Kate, so she takes a breath and comes out with, “Edwina is here tonight, and if you still wanted—Clearly I misjudged you, and so if you were still interested in her, I wouldn’t say anything.”
“Oh,” he says, and that is all he can manage for the moment, standing frozen and watching Kate force her shoulders back and her gaze to his.
He does not know precisely how to communicate the depths to which he has realized that he does not want to date Edie Sheffield, that he never wanted to date her, that his interest lies entirely elsewhere. What he says instead is, “I had wanted to ask you to stay on with the Group. Permanently. You’re very, very good at what you do, and I think that...You know, your perspective and your clarity during the campaign was extremely helpful, extremely valuable, to me.”
He can picture it plainly, has been picturing it already: Kate taking him to task about every little issue, forcing him to remember the things outside of the campaign itself, the bigger things. Kate, with her hair swept up and her eyes bright and furious, challenging him to be the best version of himself, or at least to want to try.
But then she looks up at him and says, “I’ve actually had another job offer recently. The candidate—I’m sorry, the MP-elect wants me to be her new chief of staff, and I was already inclined to accept.”
“You’re going to be incredible at that,” he says immediately, blank shock quickly giving way to sincerity then laughter. “I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner. Maybe I just didn’t think that Parliament was ready for it.”
“That’s probably for the best, though. Element of surprise and all.”
Her voice doesn’t trail away but as his laughter does, so does her smile, her animation; the air seems to fall thin and still. He doesn’t know that there’s ever been a beat of awkwardness between them like this, not even when they have been at their most prickly with each other, but it’s there now, in her eyes as she looks across at him, in his gut as he wonders what to say next.
“I’m glad you got another job offer,” is what comes out, and there is her unamused, interrogative eyebrow, hovering upward.
“So you weren’t serious with yours?”
“No, of course I was, it’s only that...Well, I’ve been your boss up until now, regardless of how much you might believe it should be the other way around.” That even gets him a slight returning smile, enough for him to ignore the dryness in his mouth and the franticness of his chest to say, “And if you had taken the job with me, I would have continued to be your boss. Which would have made it rather unacceptable for me to ask you out.”
In the space of that breath, with the silence heavy between them even as they stand right beside a crowded room, even as Dr. Danbury’s voice crows easily above the others, still practiced from projecting through the university lecture hall, he wonders if she is going to leave him like this, cards on the table, only the fall below him.
“Well,” she finally says, slow as anything. She is looking up at him, considering and careful, but he knows that her mind must be working at triple its already remarkable speed. “If I’m going to be around the city, and there’s no conflict of interest…”
He doesn’t entirely like the way it is turning into something neat and logical in front of him when he’s never felt anything close to that around her. He doesn’t like the way she looks tentative, pushing back against the edge of something more than caution - fear, perhaps, as if this might be a trick, as if the idea of allowing herself to crack open is unbearably terrifying, and it looks wrong on her face, so bold and familiar, he never wants to see that expression there again. He reaches out across the space, and when she reaches back, he takes her hand.
“Kate,” he says. “You are the most infuriating person I’ve ever known and possibly the smartest, you are wildly, overly principled and somehow make me want to be the same, you never let me have a moment’s peace, I can’t stop thinking about you, and I’d like to go on a date with you.”
“Well, that does sum things up nicely, Anthony,” she tells him, and despite herself, he can see a little snatch of a smile just there, the warmth growing in her eyes as they look right into him, the fear working its way from her. Still, she tries for nonchalance as she says, “My contract with the campaign doesn’t end until Friday. We can do Saturday night, if you’re up for it.”
He’s up for it. He takes her out Saturday night for dinner, hides a smile as she pokes fun at his shoes, gets into an argument with her about education funding, and goes to bed more distracted by a half hour of pressing her against her front door (and then onto her sofa for another twenty minutes) than he has any right to be considering he isn’t fourteen. He spends Sunday night with her too, and on Monday they go to see a movie they both hate but can’t stop talking about, and he is fairly certain he is going to spend essentially every night with her for the rest of his life.
It isn’t peaceful - and only likely to get busier once they both really get back to work - and her dog is a nuisance and Colin tries to take credit for the whole thing, and they’re so happy that neither of them cares.

Ep. 13: “I Need To Make Moves Here And This Is A Big One” - Mikey
Tumblr media
JENNET
guilt tripping everybody that voted out sammy bc that was such a weird move and shows how weak everyone really is. idk it made 0 difference to me, i honestly could care less about this round. if i get immunity, mikey is playing the idol on himself if he gets immunity im getting the idol so it really does not matter
JESSICA
Woo the plan worked and Sammy is gone! He seemed sad because he said he wanted to stick with me but his actions didn't really align with that. My goal is still to get Jennet and Jones out. I feel bad because Jennet is now in a position where they’ve been targeted every round of merge and a lot of that is for little to no reason. I don't really know why Lovelis tried to vote for them, or why their name came up when Daisy left, and the round Sam went home I only said their name to try and protect Lindsay. And last round their name was a decoy.... but still! They have been through a lot and I feel bad. But unfortunately because of this, they are definitely winning if they make the end. They haven’t betrayed a lot of the jury, they now have this great underdog story if they make it, and their whole game is about loyalty and honesty and all that stuff betrayed jurors jut love to vote for. Which I will say.......... it's easy to be loyal and honest when you don't align or overly strategize with half the team. It also leaves you super vulnerable to being a target sooooo I feel bad but I also feel like that's the reality of blocking yourself off to so many people. Since Sam is sadly gone, my new ideal final 5 is Lindsay, Shane, Mikey, and Jake. That will get awkward because I feel like it'll fall into 2 vs 2 and they'll all expect me to stick with them. That would be the downside to my strategy of "align with everyone and make everyone feel like you're their option" buuuut I think I'm saved by the fact that asides Jennet, I feel I can beat everyone left at the end. I don't think it's a guarantee; I'll definitely have to do a good FTC. But Shane and Lindsay have really bad social games -- Shane fights with everyone and betrays close allies for no reason and Lindsay apparently doesn't even talk to half the people left. Yesterday, Jake and Mikey both said they thought Shane would win at the end because "he's made so many moves!!!" which is ummmm not very feminist because I think everyone credits him with doing a lot more in the Daisy vote than he actually did. I feel very much like the Natalie White of this season because my relationships are really what is holding everything together. I just have to be careful that people don't see me as keeping Shane around when he's an obvious threat because that could definitely damage my chances of winning. However.... there is something that could upset that f5 and that is if this round, Jones/Mikey/Jake/Jennet all want to vote out Shane or Lindsay (again). I'm not actually that opposed to this happening because it would be very useful for me to have a close ally on jury to tell them what I did. It would also mean I don't really have to "decide" who to pick at f5 but I would still be relatively protected. However I also worry that if Jennet gets through even one more round, Mikey, Jones, and maybe even Jake will just refuse to vote them out like they did before. Mikey admitted to me he knows Jennet will win at the end but if he feels like he has no shot, he might just keep them around because they're close and that is not a great sign for me! I guess we'll see what happens with immunity. Also go me for being the last person left with no votes against them :~)

something about a white man yelling over me last night when it was my turn to speak doesnt sit right with me... i dont want to make it a race thing or a “gender” thing but .... idk its kinda taken me out of the game i dont even feel like campaigning to stay tbh...
(a little later)
soon as shane won immunity here go jessica pming me saying she hates that he won... pls that is ur ally u love the fact that he won... just admit it tired of these people playing in my face but i dont wanna play into that role that i know i fall into fairly quick
(after taking a beach stroll)
this may be my last week i fear 🕴🏾
(after taking the camera and running into the woods)
jess must think im a fool every round she “leaks” info to me and then she does the complete opposite of what she says she will. im sorry its pathetic at least this round she told me shes voting me pero its like now shes asking me if i have any alternatives that i can convince her into doing and im like... girl its one of my allies and like 5 of urs left dont play me like im some dummy .... so that u can tell them im pushing for them and give more reason for them to want me out? she not getting my jury vote for sure

LINDSAY
jennet is the target. if they have an idol i will probably go home. i have crippling anxiety 🤩 im sorry thisbis so short there's not much to report on. there was a miscommunication between everyone that mikey caused but nothing rly came of it. im just you know how sometimes when youre abt to fall bur you catch yourself your stomach does thise little flips? thats me for the past hour. i have a bad feeling abt this, but i also have crippling anxiety so shocker
JESSICA
me yesterday: If Lindsay or Shane got 7th, I wouldn't be sad! me now: ummmmmmmmm no stop being silly Anyways we are all voting Jennet as of right now. I told Mikey that we were splitting votes on him and Jennet potentially (so that I could get Mikey to vote Jennet, meaning Shane or Lindsay could throw 1 vote on Mikey in the event of an idol) but then Mikey went and told everyone I said that??? Which was a weird move, I don't know if he was hoping it would blow up on me but I just admitted to everyone what my strategy was. Now it seems like they just don't trust Mikey. Which is useful for next round, if I can make it there. I also told Shane and Jake that Mikey asked me if they were threats and I'd said yes. I told Shane and Jake this so that in the event Mikey went to them, they'd already have a heads up and wouldn't be suspicious (because Mikey leaks almost everything and I felt like that would definitely happen). I also accidentally implied to Jake that Shane was targeting him?? Not really sure how that happened but there was this weird temporary blowup where Jake went to Mikey and Shane and said he heard they were saying his name. Obviously I was NOT excited for this because I was worried it would come back against me instantly so I tried to smooth things over with Shane and Jake + told Mikey it's not cute to leak info! I'm hoping that the three of them are pointing their daggers at each other and haven't turned on me but it was definitely scary for a minute. I also told Mikey Shane originally wanted Jake to go when Daisy left AND that I thought Shane/Lindsay would vote Jake out next. I can explain both of these away pretty easily to Jake (1. That vote was a long time ago and he only wanted to do it because Jake was saying Lindsay and 2. I was just saying they'd vote him out next to make Mikey comfortable) but he isn't online to give me the chance to do it and I don't want to bombard him with messages. But here's where I am 2 hours before we vote...... I'm ultra paranoid Jennet has an idol. And she knows she's going tonight. Everyone was like "don't tell her she's leaving!" and I was like???? She knows?? I'm not wasting her time pretending like I'm not considering voting for her. So now....... should me, Shane, Lindsay just vote out Mikey (or Jake?) instead? I'm hesitant to bring this plan up to anyone for a few reasons: - None of these people can keep a damn secret!! - If we flip and Mikey does vote Jennet (and there's no idol), it will be 3-3-1. Really not liking that - I don't thiiiiink Jennet would idol me out if they were to idol anyone. I'm afraid to bet on this too heavily but I really, reaaaaally hope because I'm being honest with them this round, they would see me as someone who would maybe work with them at f6/f5 (as opposed to Jake, who has lied to them and Jones who flipped last round, and Lindsay who she says she wants out). I originally!!! Thought that Mikey would never vote for me but I'm honestly not sure after today - Jake is completely MIA today, same with Jones. Jake SHOULD trust me since I've warned him whenever I've heard his name but I'm worried after the shenanigans of earlier + him not responding that he's now sketched out by me - I don't want Jennet in the f6 (sorry Jennet!) because I think if we lie to the others about who we vote, they are more likely to go to rocks for them if we vote them next time. Like right now, Mikey is not going to a rock for Jake (or vice versa) but I think both would do it for Jennet if they felt they were their only path to the end. If people go to rocks for Jennet like we might as well all pack it in now and let them win because that just shows!! How good their relationships are. The reason I'd want to switch the plan is because if Jennet has an idol,  they are absolutely playing it tonight. If they don’t have it, they don’t have it, but that means Jake or Mikey could. So like.... why not do a fake out and have a higher chance of getting the merge idol out of here? Plus if Jennet doesn't play it tonight, we can vote them tomorrow with much more ease. I'm worried people are too aware that I'm really moving things behind the scenes and are going to come for me this round. Here's where I'm hoping my strategy of be everyone's BFF / an option for everyone will help me out -- Lindsay is a bigger threat than me and has done a lot less of that work so in the event Jake and Jones DO decide to turn..... I think they'd vote for her over me. But that's not really ideal because going into a F6 with only 2/3 of my end game trio is not the look! Despite what I delusion-ly thought yesterday!
JONES
fukjlkjdsflakjsdalfskdfja i have a rlly bad gut feeling i'm going home bc its like ,, , too quiet and too straight forward, i think jessica should be going this round ? either she'll be idoled out or voted out 4-3 ya feel,, i'm just ,, my stomach hurts i need jessica to get voted out she's like ,, my only competitor in terms of gameplay style >? ya feel ? i'm not excited for whatever happens after tribal,, so maybe i throw up, maybe i get voted out , either way i'm free
JAKE
Yeah so that last move was a mistake lmaooo I thought Mikey and Jennet were tighter with Sammy than they actually were 😬 so now I’m just trying to regroup from that. Seems like Jennet is the target but I feel terrible voting her out so I’m sort of at a loss. I also don’t want Mikey to be left out again so just trying to figure out what’s best for me eek 🥺
MIKEY
OK SO. Me Jake and Jennet are voting jessica, jones is voting jennet and Im gonna play my idol on jennet. I need to make moves here and this is a big one. Sorry JESSICA!

Episode 2 - “AHAHAHAHAHA 😂 -screams -” -Jessie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My plan worked, mostly. Czern left and I felt bad but it’s survivor. Raffy (I believe it was Raffy at least) voted with Czern which I don’t like tbh. Raffy has a lil target on my back and I’m sitting pretty with me being the least likely to go home at this point on my tribe. 4D chess, I don’t play chess but it’s hot. I hope my tribe and Liam’s tribe don’t lose any more challenges so we can dominate. I miss Liam 🥺🥰.
Tumblr media
Originally I'm from tengaged so the way a social game is played and how you communicate with people is really different. Unfortunately I'm bored with a lot of people on my tribe. Austin is someone I like... I want him to view me as someone new and someone who'll make a good sheep. I can kinda sense he's gonna be trouble in a way, he doesn't seem super trustworthy. Jessie is a big question mark for me. IDK where I stand with her but I think we can get along but I also think she feels comfortable. At first I didn't like Dylan all that much but now they're really rubbing off on me. Dylan stans Avatar, I stan Avatar so in my eyes Dylan is a good person. Paolo is super friendly, he's also new to the ORG community so I feel him & I could make a good duo. Zach is probably my favourite person on the tribe idk why I just feel a good energy from him and I like it so I feel like if Paolo, Zach & I could link up and form a tight 3 and just knock off someone like Jessie that would make me feel good. I really wanna prove myself with the scavenger hunt challenge I feel like I've done a lot with the challenge but I feel like I can do more so I'm ready and willing to fight to keep my tribe safe.
Tumblr media
Omg okay so I never made one of these but I will right now! So basically I like my tribe. I know a few people on here and the other ones seem nice. I would LOVE to avoid tribal, as I think I am not in the *best* standing, but I think if I attend tribal I mayyyy be able to survive. I LOVE THAT THERE IS NO TWIST THANK FUCKING GOD. Here are my thoughts on my tribe: Brien - I have hosted Brien and he is super talkative 24/7. He is a great guy and I really want him to trust me, but I have heard he created an alliance without me. I think if I just have some more activity we might be in the clear w him. Eve- I LOVE EVE. I played with Eve in BBPokemon and they were an incredible force. I know they tend to be villainous and make a splash every season, but hopefully I can them on my side and I won't be at the receiving end of their chaos. Cameron - Don't know them and will hopefully make them the first boot. Gizmo- Awesome! They are super nice to talk to and I can tell they are a good ass player. I want to align with them on this tribe, but I am not that passionate about it. Keegan- I. LOVE. KEEGAN. Keegan is super a sweetheart and such a good guy. He is SO good at orgs and I want to go far with him. Def my #1 fav on this tribe!
Tumblr media
UM HELLO TRIBE WHERE ARE YOU ? Legit only me and Liam are submitting for the scavanger hunt and the clock is tick tick ticking . Like guys we aren’t winning if only two people submit . Do they not realize two tribes go to tribal ? It’s literally as quiet as the movie the quiet place . On the bright side maybe me doing stuff for the tribe means they’ll keep me because wow I’m active !
Tumblr media
Here's the problem: my tribe is half inactive. Ben and Alex truly do not give a fuck whether we win or lose. This means they will be very easy vote offs during this phase of the game, but I don't want to risk having to repeatedly go to tribal over and over again. I am starting to get frustrated. They are literally not responding to any of my messages at all. I've tried reaching out to Ben twice now, and he hasn't replied back to either of those messages. I am so sick of it. For Alex, I don't know what his problem is either. This tribe truly is cursed in part due to them all being men. I need a swap to happen soon so that I can actually be put on a competent tribe. I am terrified that we are going to lose the challenge because it doesn't even seem like Ben or Alex know that it's even going on. Ugh. I'm so over this.
Tumblr media
This scavenger hunt has been fun. I was thankful to already own most of the items between my apartment and my parents house. What I didn't have I had to drive around to find. What gave me the most trouble was the Magic 8 Ball. I ended up finding a mini 8 ball that was fully functioning. Given that 2 tribes are going to tribal counsel, and the current state of our sheet, I'm pretty sure Good is going to tribal council. I hope I'm wrong! But hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I think I'm safe this vote. I seem to be in the majority so long as I can trust them. I just hope we are all loyal until at least tribe swap or merge, whatever happens first. If we go to tribal, I'm pretty sure Eve will be getting the vote, but who's to say.
Tumblr media
I do not believe we are winning this challenge. But I don't think I'd be the one voted out in any case. Alex and Ben both seems like they're not even going to submit for the challenge, so I will just ride this tribe out until we get rid of the both of them. I predict that there is a swap after this round because then it will be 15 which is the perfect time to swap into 3 tribes of 5. If not, I believe that we'll go till 14 to swap into two tribes of 7. Then, we'll merge at 11. I predict that Mac, Jay, and I will be able to survive till swap, but I'm not sure how I could begin to survive a merge. Maybe if I'm put on a tribe with either Dylan, Paolo, or Austin. I can make a pull on pre-existing relationships, but I will definitely have to give up control to them.
Tumblr media
My tribe is filled with people who never learned how to read rules properly. Alex really said "I didn't know I had to put them in a doc." Like,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I am exhausted. Why can't people rise to my level? Is that too hard to ask? And! Alex said something in the tribe chat which means he's actively ignoring my messages and for why? This doesn't make any sense to me at all. Are they purposefully throwing their social games down the toilet? This is what I get for being on a tribe with all men.
Tumblr media
There’s an hour left in the challenge. I feel like we have a chance but also think we will lose. I’m worried but I know if we go back to tribal I’m the least likely to go home. That’s king shit. ✌️😙
Tumblr media
I am sad because I know Czern wouldn't have disappointed me like this. Jay told me that Mac or Alex allegedly said that Ben was good at challenges. Where is that? Such bullshit.
Tumblr media
Also Alex really didn't even attempt the videos nor the high point items, huh? Ugh
Tumblr media
Yay we flopped again x IM GETTING TRIGGERED FROM MY LAST SURVIVOR ORG!! Anyways. I am the swing vote without people realising which is hot. I’ve decided Ben needs to leave since he costed us the challenge by not submitting. I have to break it gently to Alex since he’s good mates with Ben. This also means people won’t see me as playing both sides. Woohoo. I’m not going home.
Tumblr media
Ben is leaving because he didnt do the challenge and he doesn't talk to anyone and if Raffy wasn't on this tribe I honestly have no idea what I'd do. Pls swap soon thanks
Tumblr media
WE WON AGAIN. wow I’m so proud of this tribe. I truly did not expect us to not go to tribal just because it’s a double tribal. Wow I’m just so proud of us. I feel like we are a very cohesive tribe too. We really vibe.
Tumblr media
WE WON IMMUNITY *Happy dances* I feel really good about my tribe now! I really like Jessie now which I didn't think would happen but we've clicked finally. We made an agreement not to vote each other out for now. Zach is such a sweetheart and I love him. Paolo is a lil inactive because he's busy but I love his determination to contribute. Dylan is a literal fucking genius They are super intelligent and I'm so impressed. Austin is like a big ? for me if we lose I'll probably vote for him... I'm praying for a swap right now, I would like to meet new people and make more bonds before merge and then I can make some moves!
Tumblr media
AHAHAHAHAHA 😂 -screams - so after me complaining a lil last confessional about my tribe being missing in action they came out of no where and we snagged the win. I’m currently vibing with Liam who seems to be as big of a book nerd as me . I love just finding people I get good vibes from . Still searching everyday for advantage items I’ll never stop looking for those because I never know when people will decide I’m no longer an asset. I will keep trying my hardest in each challenge 💕 we got this Tituba tribe . I’m lowkey proud of us all for snatching the win . Also my hair smells like milk I need to shower .
Tumblr media
So we have to go to tribal I’m a little nervous bc there is always a chance you can go when you’re at tribal but it gives you the rush you crave. I have my 4 person alliance with Gizmo,Cameron and Keegan leaving Eve and Lukas in minority and I would love to stay loyal to it if they are loyal to it as well. I trust Gizmo he seems like a stand up guy Keegan seems sketchy but I trust him more then Cameron tbh. I know Gizmo has a good relationship with Lukas so I’m hoping he can keep Lukas from saying my name. I was wanting to Target Eve this tribal however I’m sure things are bound to get messy and with me and eves history she might just be petty and try to get the votes on me but I told her that if the vote is based on the challenge it should be Keegan and hopefully Keegan is the Decoy vote and gets 1 or 2 votes but ideally right now the 4 person alliance sticks together and votes Eve and Lukas can vote with us too so we can look unified and everyone can feel unified going into a potential swap. I’m gonna keep my options open come swap time bc the only person I trust 100 percent on this tribe is Gizmo idk if that’s his social game being so good but I don’t think he is playing me. So right now it’s looking like Eve will go but I’m sure if eve even has an inkling that she is getting votes then she will stir up trouble and I’m ready for trouble
Tumblr media
Well everything has been super slow since we keep winning lol. I mean k love winning but it sometimes doesnt show where you stand really on your tribe. Jessie I trust 100% and I wanna work with liam and dylan too. I know zach paolo and dylan all know each other tho so I wanna break that up if I can before swap guess we will just have to see what happens after tribal
Tumblr media
My alliance is voting out Ben. It is the easiest and least complex vote. I do not believe anyone would want to do anything else. It's really just that simple. I doubt this boy is even going to vote lmao
Tumblr media
Tonight is first tribal. I hope everyone *sticks to the plan.* Eve is supposed to go home as far as I know. I had to lie to their face today....I don't like it. But! Its how the game is played. Its not personal, its drag.

Ep. 7 - “my dreams are never wrong - Zoe
Tumblr media
Stephen
Odd round, Merge, yay, then immunity, double yay. But everyone being really quiet and not a lot of drama? Makes me wonder if the drama is happening away from me, and about me :/ Joseph seems to be the vote, and im hoping that its the right move, i just worry that john and zoe are in an alliance with people from the other og tribe. Just a feeling.
Maynor
So the target tonight is going to be Sierra. But Sierra thinks that the target is Joseph. It kinda sucks but I dont see Sierra being a good ally for me because a little paranoid. Like i heard they told Joseph they were the target. Who tells the “target” they are the target? There are many alliances that i may not be in but I love that Timmy is in them cuz he tells me everything and i tell him whats happening on my side. No one really knows we are actually working together. Like Dylan forgot Timmy was in Kalokairi 😂😂 only person who would be a huge dangerous threat is Stephen because he knows of me and Timmy playing together in Kuwait. Right now the first two targets are Sierra and Stephen. Stephen saved himself by winning immunity. Congrats to him. I feel like he could be a good number but at the same time he’s a play that “goes with majority cuz doesnt want to vote in minority” so he wouldnt want to make a risky game move when it has to be done. I need people who are willing to.
Dylan C
andjskdbakdb this is late af because I’ve been at a family event all day but anyway. Uhhh short version is that there’s the Sierra vote, with Joseph as the decoy that got kinda messy but I think it’ll succeed in the end? Every time I messaged someone outside Mental Gymnastics I just outright lied and played dumb, and acted like no one had told me anything about that vote. Idk how many people believed that, and if it was actually useful but that’s what I did.
Raffy
I am glad that Sierra left and that the vote went smoothly. Apparently, Sierra was really pissing John off at the latter half of the round. They were calling John and Zoe suspicious and shady which is true, but they don't need to know that. Not only that, but Sierra was giving me fake info and tempting me into saying a name the whole day. I was giving them basically zip and keeping my mouth close. They were definitely trying to rat me out. So, I am glad that they are gone. Finally, Joseph was apparently paranoid till the end. So, I need to keep an eye on him.
Stephen
Yeah johns a snake :/ basically he didnt get to vote out sierra when cormac went, and now he flipped at merge, basically handing the other tribe majority. Now, I’m not a tribe-loyal maniac, but i must say itd be kinda dumb for him to flip without a solid alliance already established. So either johns an idiot as well as a snake, or hes always been a snake, but there are snakes on the other tribe too :/
Raffy
I decided to pair up with Timmy because I feel like we could work well together in this challenge. I am concerned with Stephen and Joseph, however. I definitely do not want them to win, at all. It would boost their egos, plus if Stephen wins then he'll dodge the vote again. Also, I don't want Zoe/John to win because they would be the most likely to get idoled out instead of me if Stephen uses one. So, there's that. Here's to hoping I win this challenge. Sierra dropping does not concern me in the slightest. That's just another person who I don't have to worry about coming back into this game.
Dylan C
On call with Mental Gymnastics. ideally if things went our way, out next boot order would be Stephen, Joseph, Ellie, and then Keith/Maynor (no one really specified. probably Maynor first). Assuming people don't get immunity at inconvenient times lmao. Also, it's gonna be fun when we get someone back from EoE. It'll probably be Jack, who will probably have grudges against old Melrakki so us old Ulfur can manipulate that hatred to our advantage (wink wink, nudge nudge). and all of this is assuming that this alliance actually holds solid through the rounds. Will it? And then we have to vote each other out? Or will we turn on each other? All of this is subject to change round by round as in any game.
Raffy
I can imagine that Stephen is going to stay pissed at Zoe and John since they blindsided him pretty hard. Hopefully, that'll keep me safe for a few rounds since they will serve as meat shields.
Maynor
It’s a little wild how im able to make people believe that I’ll do whatever they say. Zoe told Timmy, “I have Maynor. He’ll do whatever i tell him.” Im like so you think. Hopefully Im able to get people to get rid of Zoe soon. This is why I want to win immunity so i can save Stephen because if we lose, he’ll be the target and I need him to stay in because only one i know that would go after zoe and john.
Raffy
Yesterday, I received some interesting information from Joseph. He sees John and Zoe as a power couple, and he is thinking about voting against them in this round if they do not win immunity. To me, this is a good sign as this can be used for whenever I decide to turn against them. I also see them as a power couple that is dominating the game currently. I guarantee that if we did touchy subjects, one of them would receive Most Likely to Win. However, I do not want to make that move right now. I am sitting in a comfortable majority, and, if I turn my back on it, I belong to no side, becoming a pariah. Which mean, if no one wants to stir the pot, I would be the easy vote. I know that they have Keith and Maynor. I know that I could convince people on Ulfur to vote with me, but it needs to be at the right time. Especially if EoE is still in effect. The only person I've told this to is Timmy, and, hopefully, that information stays sealed. I don't want John to freak out on Joseph and a) create a bigger target for himself and b) shift the target from Stephen who I do not talk to.
John
today has been damage control time. stephen got burned by me especially on that sierra vote, and i need for him to feel secure with me moving forward. granted, he is a threat, and probably will be targeted if he loses immunity, but hopefully me going to him before the challenge is over is more believable than had i approached him after the challenge.
Maynor
Ill start by saying ❤️ Jay. So i finally finished the idol hunt and in the last puzzle i saw Dylan’s name cuz they were signed into their account. So im like 👀👀 dylan might have found something. So need to be careful there. And the challenge i hope stephen’s poem will get us the win. 😊 i really dont want him to go. My roommate says Hi.
Stephen
Me, looking at Maynor doing very little for this challenge >:( Google translate: Great Lovers I’d never thought I’d say this but I think Google Translate is shipping Me and Maynor. We’re Google Translate’s OTP
Raffy
John claims that he is doing damage control with Stephen. His plan sounds legit, but I doubt it would mean anything. Giving people a false sense of security makes them bitter towards you in the end. Ellie says that Joseph still believes I voted for him which sucks, but I wouldn't trust Joseph with a baby doll let alone my game. So, I guess this works out in the end. I am affirmed that Ellie is working with me because she was going on about how no one realizes that we are working together.
Joseph Collins
Me and Kieth were on this metaphorical sit-out bench which could mean trouble for us. People might think I’m comfortable which is when people go home. Womp womp
Stephen
So this game has gone weirdly for me. I dont tend to function well in large groups, so the one world twist did not benefit me much. For others, it definitely worked, and I would be absolutely stunned if John Zoe Raffy and maybe Timmy did not have an alliance that had been around for a while. They’re just too confident and votes have seemed too spontaneous to not be planned by a strong alliance. So what do I do? I try and lay low, not force a new alliance or search for tea to be spilled, i sit and keep chatting and wait for someone to spill the tea on their own terms and try and pull my vote. Its risky, because if my name comes up I have no protection, and its also not a play im used to. But, if i dont try something new its unlikely ill ever win a season right?
Raffy
I'm so happy I won this immunity. It's the greatest feeling in the world to know that all my hard work paid off. This means that I do not have to concern myself too much about this vote, especially considering that we are splitting the vote 5-3 on Stephen and Joseph, respectively. Then, it does not matter who they vote for or if they have an idol. I think this is a great plan because I do not trust Stephen and I definitely do not trust Joseph. Our plan is this: Votes on Stephen: John, Me, Timmy, Ellie, Maynor Votes on Joseph: Zoe, Dylan, Keith Even if Maynor is not 100%, I know that Ellie and Keith will be. This means that the split vote will work no matter what with either Stephen or Joseph going. My job is to tell Ellie about the vote and get her on board. I think I can manage that. Zoe is talking to Keith, but I am also in his ear to make sure things go smoothly. I do not believe that he knows that Zoe and I are working together. I feel like a lot of people in this game think that I am someone who is in no alliances and just lost for the most part. That's wrong. I'm the person who's going to sneak their way to the end by playing dumb. In that way, people will underestimate me.
Joseph Collins
People want to blindside Stephen as if they power duo of John and Zoe doesn’t exist. We’ll see. I’m gathering my troops
Raffy
Ellie confirmed with me that she is voting for Stephen which is good. I talked with Keith, Maynor, and Joseph throughout the day. Keith knows about the split vote which I thought was weird because I thought we weren't telling anyone outside our alliance, but that is fine. I just played dumb because I do not want anyone knowing that I am working with Zoe or John at the moment. Maynor and I talked about the vote a little bit. I was just trying to confirm what Zoe and John told me about him wanting to vote Joseph. What I found is that this was true for the most part. I'm playing up the part of the person that's unsure and out of the loop to him. He told me Zoe mentioned both Stephen and Joseph. Honestly, I wish EoE would just be over soon because convincing both Keith and Maynor may be harder than I thought considering that Zoe has them wrapped around her finger. I am attempting to tell Joseph that Stephen threw out his name which is true. I'm hoping that Joseph will take the bait and vote out Stephen instead of his little plan to vote out Zoe/John.
Timmy
A whole lot has been happening this round. So Raffy’s plan is to get Stephen to go and then split the votes between him and Joseph. Maynor wanted Zoe or John gone or to get rid of Joseph instead which is what it looks like it’s coming to. Sometimes I hate being in the Mental Gymnastics alliance because I think I’m on the bottom, so bc I’m in it I’ll be seen as a goat in the end since I’ve been quiet. My org mistake is being a crackhead too early but someone is still coming back so idk what might happen. If Dylan R participates, he has a good chance at coming back since he’s good at challenges. Who knows what will happen after tribal but I expect no matter what that things will be wild.
Maynor
I have become a crackhead. This tribal is going to be an interesting one. If this vote goes according to plan then. 👀 EllieApparently Zoe wants and Stephen-Joseph split with more on stephen. Guess who’s gonna be on Joseph damage control again!
John
this vote could go so wrong hahahahaha. i really wish it was joseph that was the target instead of stephen. but, i had to do it for the alliance. too early to go rogue.
Dylan C
God I'm so bad at confessing in this game. Oh well. My alliance is coming up with a plan to vote Stephen, but is splitting votes onto Joseph in case of an idol play. I don't actually know what is going on too much because I've only been skimming the messages and haven't been talking strategy with other tribe mates as much as I should have. But also? I've been out here living my life and hanging out with friends so it's worth it.
Dylan C
expect a video confessional some time soon when I actually get the chance to film and upload it
Maynor
It looks like I might be out for the count. Joseph isnt responding to me but he’s online. He is also being very shady. Feel like he leaked stuff and it is going to be me tonight. Might just be paranoid but everytime i feel like this i get voted out and it has happened everytime. Ill be sad if i am voted out. I tried so hard but o well. Im still hoping plan works out and everything would be okay but josephs behavior isnt helping anything. Just in case. One last ❤️ For Jay.
Timmy
We gettin out Zoe tonight! It's lit peeps. Honestly I'm definitely screwing myself over with this, but that's the fun of survivor....gotta take shots and regret taking them rather than regret not taking them to know what happens. Truly it's the crackhead in me. All credit goes to Maynor on this one because he really supplied the crack today to make a move and i couldn't be prouder of him. With that information and everything set, I made the alliance to make things solid and so I can get further along in the idol hunt :)
Timmy
I FOUND AN IDOL!!! AND I DIDN'T HAVE TO DO SLIDE PUZZLES!!! I feel so much more comfortable with my cracked energy now because of this. I feel a sense of safety, although that could also be because I'm immune tonight due to the challenge. So yay! But this secures my safety for if I come in last for a challenge again.
Maynor
It might be happening. Im crossing my fingers. Im scared. 😳
John
raffy scares me. yeah i’m in an alliance with him but he’s really showing he has mental prowess in this game. and that’s dangerous.
Zoe
I'm feeling so paranoid. I had a dream last night that Raffy orchestrated a blindside against me, and everyone on the tribe was on board with it. He must have triggered some strange internal awareness in me because I don't trust him at all anymore-- and my dreams are never wrong.

Episode 13 - “We can only really try to protect them for so long unless they actually start playing their own game” - Matt S.
Tumblr media
Me and Timmy being a duo is awesome becuase i feel like no one wants either of of us so thats will make sure we will make it through this vote. I feel bad for Trace. He had one split up with throwing Owen’s name out to Kait and caused our alliance to target him. Ian and Corey also wanted Trace gone. The good this is that i still have my steal a vote which i hope i wont need to use it until later in the game when i need the numbers by one vote. Im hope Timmy and I could do well in the challenge cuz immunity would be nice.
---
All I have to say was Fuck that logic pizzle. It was like so hard, but if im being honest though, I actually kinda had a little bit of fun. But overall frustrating.
Tumblr media
Just sitting here waiting for information from the 6 person alliance to be leaked to me, I soooooo just want to be like, Devon. I fucking know. If Corey and I can get through this without burning an advantage that would be epic, but if an advantage gets burned I need it to be his double vote... to get Matt and Kait in the retrograde. I have very strong feeling I'm not going to get what I want this round. I can't, can't burn my idol on chips and Thomas. If it has to be played my foot is going down on it to be Matt and Kait. To sum it up, if an advantage has to be played I need Kait and Matt in retrograde, if no advantage needs to be played I want Chips and Thomas. If Timmy and Maynor go then I'm gonna have to pop my idol soon rather than later. If it's Devon and me in a blindside... Whelp, I have to win a challenge and lose an ally. A lot more bad than good can happen for my game this round.
Tumblr media
The ‘vote’ is Chips/Thomas but IMBS alliance is thinking of separating Devon/Ian. Like i both of them and it will be burning a bridge of who ever comes back from retrograde. Its crazy to finally be like halfway. Ive been really enjoying this season. I hope I can beat my placement of 9th from guyana here. Im trying my best and im playing my own game instead of playing for someone else because i wanted to have fun that season and help friends make it far and win.
Tumblr media
So this round is very interesting, I have a 1/5 chance of receiving votes which makes me incredibly nervous and I feel like it’s not far’fetched to assume kait and I may be targets. People want to vote Thomas and Chips which is hilarious because we can only really try to protect them for so long unless they actually start playing their own game. I think at this point there’s a pretty solid group of us that want to target Devon/Ian but I know Devon will feel betrayed by me. Kait always seems to think I’m naive which is kind of frustrating to me, but everyone thus far seems to actually trust me. Devon teased the idea of Corey’s name and she thinks I’m being tricked but considering I’ve been to infinitely more Warzones and have always voted correctly... we’ll see who’s the real trickster
Tumblr media
This twist...mess. I am so happy to be partnered with Maynor though. When the post was made I was immediately going to message him if he wanted to be my partner but when I get to his PMs I saw that he already messaged me the same thing, so it worked out really well. He is definitely the person I want to go to the end with (that could change because he is really likable so who knows). But from a game standpoint I think we're very similar. I'm sad we lost immunity, but he put a lot of work into that because I was at work so I'm proud of him. The vote seems to be Devon/Ian which I am happy about because they are big comp threats. It's upsetting as well though because I have been talking to them and I like talking to them both but obviously they will have each other over me so having one of them go is beneficial. The other will be mad, probably at me (moreso Ian than Devon if he comes back) but that's a bridge I'll have to cross when I get to it. Also I finally respectfully made jury in TS which is exciting because last time was Virgin Islands and everyone was on jury in that game.
Tumblr media
So very tricky day especially with the duos. It seems there is a consensus but that is too easy so there is something bound to happen and I do feel in danger. I have found that ian isn’t very well connected with a lot of people, which puts us in danger. I am thinking we may need to start being an aggressor in the next few hours.
Tumblr media
youtube
Tumblr media
Matt, you always knew what was coming for you. I was always coming for you. Good luck in retrograde. This is my tribe now. Let the mighty kids be finished, let the age of the undesirable be born. Oh and kait, sorry girl I'm sure I'll see you back, but you voted for me so like... maybe don't be so protective of a goat at f12
Tumblr media
Kait is paranoid because everyone is quiet but like calm down, your name has never come up once this game...which is concerning but not for the current moment...like you are fine just stick to the plan it is fine. Like our alliance is half the votes tonight so it's fine. We are all sticking around tonight so calm down and just be happy.
Tumblr media
The vote is locked for Devon/Ian. I feel so bad voting Ian but its what my alliance wants and im in good standings with all of them that i think they would take me further. They are both comp threats so its good one is getting knocked out. This game is getting more chaotic and more game movey and i like it but it can be a double edge sword cuz it can easily be me as a target.
Tumblr media
I want to retrograde just to show em all I'm not half-assing this game but whatever happens happens
Tumblr media
Ep 13 I have never been happier to be immune. Those idol plays were crackedt, and I only knew one was happening tbh. I’m crying in the club about Corey being gone. And by the club I mean the tub. I was in a bath for the entirety of tribal BFJSJDN. I’m really worried about how everything is gonna work out now. Either Corey being gone is going to take a huge Target off my back, or it’s going to make it bigger. Also my phone autocorrected target to capital T and that should show you how much I shop at Target.
Tumblr media
Ep 13 So I know I keep saying I'll make a full length confessional and failing to do so while it's on my mind and I'm trying to remember to write this one I'll do my best. Anyway, last round I was told that (once again) me and Thomas were the vote. And I think it's because Thomas was my partner. Which is lame that he's always the decoy vote but here we are. So anyway I'm told that it's between my group or the group of Ian and Devon so I'm convinced to vote that way. Then the voted get read and they're all for Kait and Matt which is cool because it means I'm definitely in the minority since that plan was not communicated to me. Neat. Anyway, both of those groups play an idol and then it's a revote between Cullan and Corey, my group, and Jimmy and Maynor so obviously my group stays because we have the scapegoat. Anyway, that's what you missed last time on - Glee! And I swear I will sit down some time (probably tomorrow...) and type out a legit confessional that is the length of leading up to and including merge as like a "summary of where I am now and what's going on" - I know you probably don't care too much but that's what I'm here to do give you information that's pointless or has already passed.

AOS 4x12:  AKA FANDOM DOWN...I REPEAT THE FANDOM IS DOWN!
So....that happened.  How are we doing!  I for one am freaking out.  Lots of theories coming into play here including one that is very near and dear to my heart.
My ask box is blowing up and I think we are going to break the record of 70 post Singularity easily.  So bear with me as I go tomorrow.  I will combine where I can and will get to them all.
Tumblr media
Spoilers ahead!
Real May:  We didn’t get to see her.  And she is sadly locked away in the Superiors submarine.  The earliest I see her rescue is 14....but brace ourselves it might go on longer.  The...bit....of good news is Radcliffe doesn’t want her hurt and will have AIDA keep her safe.  I can also see them using her as leverage at some point.  Either to bring Coulson into a trap, make a trade, or to get away.
Robo May:  Well that went about how I though it would.  I had though we might see more conflict but Radcliffe’s programming was too strong.  Radcliffe is ‘done’ with her, but she’s still in play.  Whether Radcliffe tries to reactivate her or Shield uses her against Radcliffe is yet to be seen.  One important pick up I got is she sees herself as May.
Coulson:  Well what we saw in Closure was likely a bit of a warm up for what he’s going to do to get May back.  He’s going to leave no stone unturned to find her and we know from the synopsis that will involve digging into Radcliffe past.  As he did with Ward, see what makes him tick.  No matter how you ship Philinda he’s going to do everything he can to get the woman he cares about back.
Philinda:  Is the Philinda fandom okay?  They kissed!  Though a lot like Fitzsimmons first kiss it was a bit bittersweet.  It was based in real emotions but one of them was an LMD.  But  that moment did confirm is that there are feelings on both sides.  And that speech of Coulson’s in the promo gave me goosebumps.  When he gets her back its going to take time for her to heal and we’ll just have to wait and see where they go relationship wise from here.
Daisy:  Well done Daisy, interrupting the kiss like any good surrogate daughter does.  She was awesome, I LOVED her interactions with all the Koenig’s, just fantastic.  We did see she is still not a fan of the Quake mantle and still getting used to it.  And we’ll see her continue to grow as that public, hero face of Shield.  And next week we’ll see her in some serious action.
Mack:  Mack was in a big brother how dare you hurt my little brother crack heads now ask questions later kind of mood this whole ep.  Next week it will be a crack heads and ask questions later in order to help find May frame of mind.
Mace:  Was kicking it up in his office or something.  Next week he goes into battle again....I worry this won’t end well for him.
Fitzsimmons:  You guys okay too?  Was that not wonderful?  That was exactly what I wanted, it was perfect.  I just....so happy with this.  This is what I wanted to see from them.
Jemma:  Right what I predicted.  Supportive, protective, and helped get the breakthrough about Robo May.  I am a happy happy girl.  I feel woman on fire coming...I really do.
Fitz:  So...yeah...those theories we’ve had...since 3.02....  Guys really...It took me a good 2 hours just to stop shaking.  Papa Fitz is totally on the table now.  Papa Fitz IS coming.  Man I even had Radcliffe knew him on my list!  The only reason they would have put that backstory AND that much of it is if it was going to play a MAJOR role.  The seeds were planted and look for them to explode for the C arc...possibly as early as 15.  Give me a bit to process further, we’ll dust off the Descendant Theory and go forward (things like Fitz catching Ward looking at the picture of him and his mom back in play...it is all connected after all).  But look for Fitz to be a HUGE target from here to the end.  If he doesn’t want to meet his father...meaning Papa Fitz is going to come calling and soon....we just have to wait and see who is telling the truth...IE is Papa Fitz a bad guy or did he leave to protect his family (though Papa Fitz does not seem like a nice guy right now).
Side note...I think one of those BIG guest stars they are teasing us about will be whoever plays Papa Fitz.  I know we have our wish list started.
Radcliffe:  Man is is a good bad guy.   And very dangerous.  He is manipulating everyone to get what he wants.  And will continue to do so.  The fact that he not only knows Papa Fitz but has been in contact with him....Recently!  I need a minute again.  I think there is a lot more to this and this could go beyond a passing acquaintance to that they were/are partners (think dark twist on Fitzsimmons).  We also have to watch that he had Radcliffe get closer to Fitz so he could swoop in when the time was right (Radcliffe getting exposed to the Darkhold likely derailing the original plan).  He now has the Darkhold, he’s got may, he’s got a whole bunch of muscle to protect him.  Next week we should get a bit of a look at what the book is having him build.  We should also watch to see if The Darkhold has derailed a larger plan.
Misc:
The Koenigs were all awesome but I vote for LT to come live at the Playground and be part of the team on a regular basis.  They were part of the the original LMD program and they still teased a bit of mystery.  Poor Davis.
Superior, he is our big bad Russian, the guy with a collection of military toys...which we’ll see more than a few next week as part of the team gets attacked.  He’s also a decoy Baddie, he’s not our overall big bad but will be a formidable foe in his own right.
We need to worry about him seeing the appeal in AIDA being a weapon to him.
He’s got his sites set on Coulson
He’s the source of the money
Shockley, the new Guyiera.  The nasty minion with a nasty weapon that we can’t wait to meet his icky end.
Papa Fitz
DESCENDANT THEORY LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Something we noted a long time ago was Fitz is not a common Scottish last name, its means “son of”.  So WHO he is the son of is substantial.  Even more so was the rest dropped for some reason?
His father was always telling him he wasn’t good/smart enough.
Radcliffe went to school with Papa Fitz....saw Fitz’s baby pictures....possibly knew exactly who Fitz was when they came to him for help with Daisy.
Radcliffe has been in contact with him....RECENTLY.  Papa Fitz wanted him to pass a message along.
Someone had to put that crazy programming into Robocliffe and I think that was Papa Fitz.  That speech in Latin wasn’t from Radcliffe, I think i was a message.  And a huge thank you to @blake-wyatt as she helped translate that little speech.
The first bit was from Cicero and the  Laelius de Amicitia  Throughout the book, Cicero emphasizes the importance of virtue in friendship and how true friendship cannot exist without it.
The Second bit we are still working on.
Finally ...  alea iacta est .... THE DIE IS CAST ....  an event has happened or a decision has been made that cannot be changed.  The point of no return AKA the event horizon AKA Singularity ... which is where we met Radcliffe.
Did Philinda’s mission in Glasgow all those years ago tie into this?  After all the writers could have used ANYTHING but they used Glasgow.
Okay, its late, and I’m crashing from my theorizing high.  I’ll pick up and formulate more as I process the asks and do some more research.

TRENT’S RESPONSES
Tumblr media
Michael:
I am the sole survivor because I came into this season ready to play the game. I have played this game since Day 1. I have been in alliances and made moves to guarantee that I would be at the end of this game. I was on two minorities (3 if you count the final 5 as still vets vs newbies) and I survived all of them due to relationships I formed, and moves I made. You were on the calls when I came up with and shared these plans and moves. For example, when we blindsided Owen. You were there when I pitched the idea to blindside him but use Stoner as the decoy target, for fear of idols. It was this plan that we used over and over for the rest of the game. Even after I found the idol  (the morning after Owen was voted out) and I figured out how to read the torches, I continued to let our fear and paranoia of idols exist because it made us 5 Nuchaya work closely and trust each other.
.
Owen:
I’m going to start by answering your last question first, because I feel like there are some misunderstandings about Jess’s and I’s relationship. Jess and I were not friends before this game. I knew of her, just like I knew of you, just like I knew of matt, etc, but I never once had a one on one conversation with her until she was an infiltrator in this game. Yes we had a connection through both being friends with Alyssa, but you and I shared that same connection. So this perceived notion that Jess and I were close friends and a tight duo before this game started is completely incorrect.
When in this game did you make a difficult decision?
The most difficult decision I had to make in this game was choosing between my newbie alliance or my Nuchaya alliance. I really enjoyed playing with the newbies, and I loved the story we had of starting on Day 2, getting split, all 5 of us surviving, and then coming back together. But once I saw how close Chris O was to you and Stoner (through him leaking Anabel’s desire of getting Stoner out) I knew I could no longer work with them. Once I realized that I knew I had to stick with Nuchaya. But voting out Lorelei as a result of that was an incredibly difficult decision because I enjoyed being with that group so much. You say that sticking with Jess was a foregone conclusion but it never truly was until I had to make a decision between the newbies or Nuchaya.
When in this game did you do something unexpected?
This is pretty much the same answers as above. I don’t think anybody in the newbie alliance expected me to turn on them. But in that moment of the game I had two separate paths I could take. And no matter which I took It was going to be unexpected by a group of people. After that move I had no reason to do something unexpected. I had a tight 5 that I could get to the final 5 and doing something else unexpected would have completely ruined my game.
What about this game was hard for you?
I’m not sure if you mean hard as in a difficult move I made, or like emotionally hard, so I’ll just answer both. The hardest move I made was right after the Lorelei vote. You messaged me immediately asking why I lied. I had to play this off like I was tricked and I didn’t really know what was going on in this game. I had to do this because I needed you to believe me for the next vote.  Knowing you’ve played so many of these games and done very well at them, I was worried you would see right through it.
The most emotionally hard moment in this game was by far voting off Olivia. Throughout the season I truly have grown to respect her and her game. So emotionally it was truly heartbreaking to have to turn on a friend like that.  Yes it was 100% the right game move, but that did not make doing it any easier.
were you always going to use that to be a tight duo?
I’m going to circle back around to this final part. I had two very tight duos in this game. One was with Jess and the other was with Anabel. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that these two are the other members of the final 3 with me. But no, I was not always going to stick with Jess until the end. Yes once I chose Nuchaya over the newbies I decided I wanted to go far with her, but if Olivia had won the final 4 immunity, I would have voted Jess out. I made a promise to Anabel night 1 that it was me and her until the end and I was going to stick to that promise.
Leigh:
I’m not sure if you want a reply from me or what, but thank you for not letting your opinion of me affect Mosby’s cuteness. She is a good girl. I hope your dogs are doing well.
Chris O:
Isaac- I never got to see much of isaac’s game. We were only on a tribe together for a couple days. His biggest mistake was the self vote when voting as the infiltrator. The self vote was a major reasoning in voting him out of the game.
Leigh-  Leigh’s biggest mistake in the game was practically giving up after the Owen vote. She messaged people asking to vote her out and did not want to try anymore.
Lorelei- Lorelei, as she mentioned, played with her heart on her sleeve. She played incredibly emotionally. Which in itself is not a bad thing, it just made her incredibly easy to read.
Lorelei:
I’d pick Anabel. She played better socially, she was in a power alliance that got her to the end and she always voted strategically.
Issac:
Issac- Mr. Misunderstood- Eric Church- Personally I don’t know you well at all, and this song is about not knowing someone well.
Loreli- Friend Like Me- Robin Williams- Lorelei was a joy and has a bubbly personality that reminds me of a disney song
Owen-  Shout- Isley Brothers- Owen is a great guy and fun to be around. Would be a joy to hang out with
Chris O- Nothing Suits me like a Suit- Neil Patrick Harris- Chris O is going to be a big wig at a bank one day because he is very smart and professional
Leigh- If you want to sing out, sing out- Cat Stevens- Leigh was always go with the flow and ok with everybody doing their own thing
Stoner- Young, Wild, & Free- Wiz Khalifa - Stoner has an incredibly chill personality. Here to have a good time
Michael- Till I Collapse- Eminem- Michael has a fighter's personality. Won’t give up and will do whatever it takes to be successful
Olivia- Mountains- Hans Zimmer- Olivia shares my love for movies, this is one of my favorite soundtracks because it is intense and incredible.
Chris S:
For your first question of why I continuously lied and didn’t tell you I didn’t want to work with you is because I didn't know if eventually this game would take an unexpected turn. I wanted to have you as an option in case that did happen. If i would have told you early on I did not want to work with you, and then all of a sudden I found myself needing to work with you I feel like I would have gotten the response “Oh now you want to work with me”. So yes even though I continuously lied to you about the vote, I still wanted there to be a slight chance of us working together if I needed that for my game.
As for us never connecting socially, I feel like we were just on different routines. You would message me if I was at work or asleep, then a couple hours later I would reply, then a couple hours later you would reply, and back and forth. If you ever felt that the reason was personal, then I do apologize because I promise you that was not the case. As for your request here are three things I learned about you:
You've never seen a season of Big Brother
You have a girlfriend who is 21
You smoke medicinally for REDACTED (I don’t know if the reason is out in the open but I don’t want to say it if not, so if i need to pm you to prove it I can, with the hosts allowance of course, but i didn’t want to put it out there for everyone else to see.
But if that last one doesn’t count, heres another, you are not a math person
Olivia:
Isaac: Admittedly so, Isaac and I did not have a strong connection due to the face we were only on the same tribe for a few days. But I learned that he was a waiter and was taking a break from school. We also both enjoy outdoor activities like hiking
Lorelei: I learned that she wanted to do finance but decided not to because math isnt her strong suit. She majors in cognitive science at a university in Canada (don’t want to give the name in case she doesn’t want too many people to know), she used to work at a hospital. And she recently got her wisdom teeth taken out
Owen: I learned from Owen that he has a sister that lives in Michigan, but owen currently lives in Chicago where he goes to school to be an English teacher. He loves theater and I think planning on teaching that as well. He works at a public library but also does student teaching. He loves reading and we connected over enjoying Ready Player One
Chris O: Chris O started playing orgs when he was 10 years old! He loves reality tv and is watching amazing race, but has done casting calls for Big Brother and Survivor. He works as a bank teller. He has family that are packers and Broncos fans but its a huge football fan himself
Leigh: Two dogs Daisy and Ace, two guinea pigs named Alice and Lily, one cat named miley. She used to work at a doggy day care. Leigh also lives in Chicago. Shes only played Facebook orgs before this season. She has a boyfriend. She is in school online. She used to be a paralegal but now she is a receptionist at a cancer treatment facility. Her mom works in the same clinic
Matt: Matt and I bonded over watching the Big Brother Finale and Survivor premier together, which i really enjoyed and had a fun time doing. Matt has worked in the same place the last 3 years and works in the backroom. Hes also going to school and majoring in Media and film. He is a Giants fan. Also plays fantasy football.
Stoner: Already answered in his question so im just going to copy and paste it. You've never seen a season of Big Brother. You have a girlfriend who is 21. You smoke medicinally for REDACTED (I don’t know if the reason is out in the open but I don’t want to say it if not, so if i need to pm you to prove it I can, with the hosts allowance of course, but i didn’t want to put it out there for everyone else to see.. But if that last one doesn’t count, heres another, you are not a math person
Michael: Works in customer service as a retail assistant.  Does not watch or play Big brother games. Has played previous orgs in minecraft. Plays D&D. Went to Melbourne recently for vacation. Recently broke his mic.
Olivia: Lives in California. Eagles Fan. Lost her mind when they won the superbowl. An art history major. Impression Sunrise by Monet is her favorite work of art. Loves lord of the rings, hosted a lord of the rings themed survivor. Loves every single season of survivor. Going to use her new tiki she made in ceramics as an urn for her upcoming org. Her dream job is to work as an art consultant on a tv show or movie to make sure the art is historically accurate.
Matt:
Before answering your questions Matt I’m once again going to say, Jess and I did not have a friendship before this game. Yes we had mutual friends, but Jess and I had never spoken until round 2 when she was an infiltrator. I just want to make sure everyone who brings its up, sees that this is the case. But now to your questions:
So when I say social gameplay I see it in two different ways. In one of the ways I do think it was strong, and in the other, I agree with the jury that I struggled. To me these two different versions of social gameplay are perceptions by the rest of the cast (during the season) and relationships with the rest of the cast. The reason I think I excelled in the perceptions category is because even though I would lie in a round, the people I lied to would still believe me the next round. I was good at explaining myself when caught in a lie or at least explain the reason I lied. I did this with Owen and Leigh after the very first merge vote.  To me, lying is part of a social game. Without having at least a decent social game, people will not continuously believe your lies.
Though on the other side of the coin I did struggle. I had a hard time making deep relationships with people. I had a hard time opening up to everyone. I did struggle with putting the game on pause and just being Trent. But this is who I am as a person in real life and it bled into my game. In real life I am a quiet person, I do not open up to people, I am a thinker and an analyzer. So yes I will agree that I could have done a much better job at opening up and just being real with people.
Maybe it’s because I am a newbie, this is my first real survivor game, and I’m still relatively new at watching Survivor the show, but this is why I said I had a strong social game. Whether I had the wrong definition or was just looking at it from a different perspective, I'm not really sure, but I do hope this helps clears it up.
But to answer your specific question: One example of my social game lacking was with Stoner. Maybe it was just on my side, but we just felt off. I should have done a better job at reaching out and making an attempt to get to know him.
As for my favorite moment of the game, it was by far making merge and jury. When starting this game, I had just finished BB Pokemon Galar and honestly that game kinda left a bitter taste in my mouth about orgs. I missed jury by one round due to a power, and just felt kinda over with playing orgs. Ali convinced me to do this season and I was afraid the first half of the season this would happen again. I’d get close to my goal of jury but then get out at the last second. So when I did actually make merge it was just a sense of relief that I played decently well up to that point.
