woah a beast
some info under the cut vv (a lil long btw)
🖤 In a resting state, geists appear identical to a mundane human. The geist has a primarily omnivorous diet, which it supplements with human blood. A geist can survive without ingesting human blood, but it is not recommended.
🖤 The geist’s main strength is the ability to manifest a physical representation of its spirit. The physical manifestation partially engulfs sections of the geist’s body and functions as both armor and a weapon.
🖤 The spirit coat is wispy, flame-like, and varies in color, but will typically be blue, ranging from sky blue to cyan to indigo. Appearance of the physical manifestation also varies more substantially with the “type”. They are as follows:
> Tiger/Mantle | Area: primarily upper-body | Appearance is similar to a mantle of sorts, with a spiritual manifestation of an animal head  - usually feline-like - as a “hood”. The “mantle” itself extends to cover the shoulders, shoulder blades, and encases the arms completely. Each arm ends in five large claws that are capable of inflicting considerable damage. Occasionally, the mantle will extend further down the back, ending in a long cat-like tail. > Cerberus/Boxer | Area: primarily the arms | The spirit coat covers the arms, each ending in a ghostly animal head, typically canine in appearance. The spirit typically doesn’t extend much further than the arms, spreading to the neck and above the shoulder blades at most. Boxer-type geists are quick, and have an acute sense of smell. > Dragon/Winged | Area: primarily the torso | Dragon geists’ coats exhibit a large pair of spectral wings and a tail, appearing dragon-like in nature. The geist is capable of using the wings to fly, though sustained long-distance flight may prove difficult. Winged geists are noted to be very agile.
🖤 Geists that do not ingest enough blood or that don’t consume blood at all are often sickly. The affected geist becomes pale and lethargic, and will find itself unable to manifest its spirit. In the case of the geist, blood fuels the spirit, not the body, but neglect of the spirit still has adverse effects on the physical body.
🖤 Geists that consume blood regularly experience harsher “starvation” consequences than geists that are used to going without. The affected geist becomes weak and sickly quickly, and finds itself unable to manifest its spirit a lot sooner. Binge feeders may find themselves experiencing additional “withdrawal” symptoms as well, such as migraines, insomnia, and tooth aches.
