WHAT ACTUALLY STANDS OUT TO MEEEEEE is his peacock symbolism. his entire color scheme is peacock-esque, and his earring and the band around his hat invoke the imagery of peacock feathers

and i somehow almost forgot to mention the various adornments on his coat that also look like feathers. the back especially!!

in the 19th century, peacock feathers were one of the many things gay men used to subtly identify themselves as gay, and now the bird just kind of serves as a gay symbol in general (on top of symbolizing things like wealth, vanity, luck, and on the more spiritual side, rebirth - all of which do equally apply to aventurine)! and it's further emphasized by other characters likening him to a peacock. the writers Really did not want this particular symbolism to be overlooked at all

also he does literally seem to have interest in men specifically. i don't really want to single out him calling sunday handsome because that's like... he was playing up his usual ingratiating smarmy businessman attitude to "affirm" sunday's (racist.) biases and assumptions about him - it was less genuine flattery and more so part of the mind game they were playing with each other. but it is there i guess.......

all in all very much in line for how hoyo writes their queer characters. on the subtler side, but prettyyyyy undeniable if you're engaging with the game as a Story and not Self-Insert Generator #5463753895430
