1 step forward, 3 steps back - Park Seonghwa

Dating an Idol was not easy. You knew that beforehand and you of course never imagined you would be in the situation, where you´d be dating an Idol yourself. Yet, here you were at the restaurant, for the past 2 hours, and your boyfriend was a no-show. You met Seonghwa in his pre-debut days. He was handsome and most importantly, very kind. You, were working for KQ at the time as an Intern. You and Seonghwa immediately hit it off and while at first you refused to date him, to keep your job and to keep him out of trouble, after you finished your internship and decided to pursue Law in college, and after Seonghwa convinced the manager and CEO that you´d be good for him, you decided to give him a chance. This was 3 years ago and you felt very lucky to have a boyfriend like Seonghwa. 

However, after their debut, they quickly gained on popularity, and you were not at all mad about it. If anything, you were so extremely proud of him and the boys, you adored them all. Their quick rise however, had a toll on your relationship. You didn´t get to see him a whole lot, since he was so busy and since you were equally as busy. This wasn´t what bothered you, what did bother you was that this past year, whenever you did see each other, you would always end up fighting. If you guys were at the dorms, and you were supposed to watch a movie or something, Seonghwa would eventually get up and just go clean or take care of his members and leave you alone, which led to you being upset and leaving, which then would lead to a fight. The boys had noticed the tension and they had tried to talk to Seonghwa, which worked temporarily. You guys would make up and every time you would think, you were finally taking a step forward, you always ended up taking about 3 steps back. This was the last straw. It was your 3 year anniversary, Seonghwa had made reservations for the both of you at this nice place, and you were now sitting here alone at 10 p.m. You finally gathered your things and apologized to the staff of the restaurant for wasting their time before taking a cab to your place. You walked up to your door, in the exact moment your cell phone started ringing. As you checked the ID, you saw it was your boyfriend, and just shook your head before declining the call. The last thing you wanted was to talk to him right now. You headed inside and immediately went to get ready for bed ignoring any calls or messages you got for the rest of the night.

You woke up as your alarm went off at 10, it was Sunday, so you didn´t have any classes and you also didn´t have any plans for today. You got out of bed and went to take a shower, before heading to your kitchen and making breakfast for yourself. Now, you finally decided to go through the texts you got last night and this morning. Starting with Seonghwa´s texts.

´Babe. Where are you? I´m at the restaurant?´

´Babe pick up. I´m worried. Where are you?´

´(y/n). Why did you leave? I know I was late but I promised I was coming.´

´I´m coming over.´

´Open the door. Please´ 

´Please. Don´t be mad at me, open the door ´

You shook your head at his text chain. He really didn´t see what he did wrong. the next few texts were from the boys.

Mingi: ´Hey Shorty. Seonghwa just came home crying. Did something happen? Are you okay?´

Yeosang: ´You know you are the only person I actually tolerate but what happened between you and Seonghwa?´

Jongho: ´I´m guessing you weren´t too happy about Seonghwa-hyung being late again? Please call me when you can. I am worried about you guys.´

Hongjoong: ´Listen. I know you´re mad at Seonghwa.  I know things have not been going well, but he loves you and he really is sorry. Please call me. Let´s meet up and talk about it, I wanna help´ 

You considered all their texts for a while before texting them back shortly, saying you were okay. After that you had your breakfast.

"Thank you so much for meeting me" You looked at your coffee and shrugged.

"You guys have been blowing up my phone the past 2 weeks. You weren´t exactly giving me a choice Joong." Hongjoong nodded lightly as he watched you. "Look, I am not saying I handled the situation well, I could have done differently yes. But I know myself and I know that if I had gone and broken up with Seonghwa in person I wouldn´t have been able to do it. You need to understand that, he wasn´t the only one hurting.  I have always been able to handle it all. The pain, the jealousy, the being late, but this past year....I couldn´t handle it anymore Hongjoong. I was tired of feeling like I wasn´t a priority to him. I´m tired. I don´t deserve any of it. I don´t deserve him snapping at me cause he´s stressed, when I´m trying to help, or being stood up on our anniversary for 2 hours." Hongjoong nodded along. He didn´t disagree with you, but he knew Seonghwa had just been under a lot of stress.

"I don´t disagree. You deserve better treatment, but I also know you and Seonghwa, and I know that you love each other. You are meant to be together. Seonghwa is a mess. He loves you so much and I know it doesn´t excuse anything but at least please talk to him. Have enough respect for him to give him the closure he deserves. It has been 2 weeks. Please, as your friend and his, I am begging you to end this properly if that is what you want to do. I won´t force you to go back to him, if that isn´t what you want, but just talk to him." His words weren´t wrong. You knew that you had to eventually talk to Seonghwa, it wasn´t fair for either of you to end things like this, not after 3 years. So you nodded in agreement.

You sat awkwardly, in front of your now ex-boyfriend, by the dinner table at the dorms. You had decided to come by after talking to Hongjoong, since you knew Seonghwa was alone at home. "I wanted to apologize for breaking up with you over text" You started quietly. He shook his head.

"Don´t- Honestly, you had every right too. Our relationship has been on the rocks for the past year and it is all my fault. I didn´t deserve anything else." 

"Seonghwa....Only because I broke up with you, it doesn´t mean I will let you speak about yourself like that. Sure, things were rocky, but that never stopped me from caring about you and even broken up, I will still care about you. I know it´s hard, but maybe this was just for the best. You have clearly been struggling to manage your career and a relationship so this is good for you, You can just clear your head from relationships, or not. Of course whatever you want to do is up to you " Seonghwa chuckled quietly and shook his head. 

"Even after the shit I put you through you are nice to me. I hope you know that despite us being over I am not going to go and chase after someone else to date. They aren´t you. But I would really like to be friends" Seonghwa looked at you with pleading eyes and how could you possibly say no? You nodded in agreement and smiled.

"Of course. I´ll always be here for you Silly"

It had been a few months now and despite the break up, you and Seonghwa still talked and hung out all the time. You had not noticed but Seonghwa had been making time for you. He would flirt with you, or at least try to, and he was back to being the Seonghwa you fell in love with. The boys weren´t blind, they knew Seonghwa had needed this wake up call, in order to start prioritizing himself again as well as his relationship. They knew it was just a matter of time, until you got back together. The love you had for each other was undeniable. You were at your graduation and you were so anxious. You had been working your butt of the past few years to finally get this diploma. As your name got called you headed up to the stage to get your diploma. You looked as you heard a sudden and loud cheering. You couldn´t help but smile as your spotted 8 familiar boys, standing at the back, cheering you on as if they were cheering on a rockstar. A blush creeped onto your cheeks as you went to take a seat and waited for the ceremony to be over. Once it was indeed over, you were greeted by your parents, with whom you shared a nice, loving hug. 

" Mr. & Mrs. (y/l/n). Do you mind if I steal (y/f) for a bit?" Seonghwa looked at your parents, greeting them politely before he took you away. "You looked great up there. Congratulations" His words made you blush. How could they not? You were still madly in love with him. Honestly, if he asked you to take him back you would say yes in a heartbeat.

Meeting you for the first time - Reaction (Yunho & Yeosang)

Yunho:

It was a normal day in the Ateez dorms and this week, it was Yunho´s turn to do the grocery shopping of course he had managed to persuade Mingi into coming along with him, as well as their manager. Yunho didn´t really mind grocery shopping, he would much rather do that than handle the cooking or even the cleaning. So, he had decided they would go at the end of the day, after a recording session. They wouldn´t be too tired, than if they had dance practice or had been filming something so it was just the perfect time. Yunho, was in his usual attired. A pair of black sweatpants, a t-shirt covered by a navy jacket, in order to shield him from the chilly wind outside. It wasn´t too cold, as it was end of the summer, beginning of fall. Honestly this was probably Yunho´s favorite time of the year. It wasn´t too hot but it also wasn´t too cold, just perfect. They drove to the store with one of the managers, while the other one, took the boys home.

"Did you bring the list?" Mingi questioned his friend as he looked at his phone, not having bothered to bring the list himself, as he immediately assumed Yunho had grabbed it. Yunho looked up and chuckle, knowing exactly Mingi had not even thought about bringing the list with everything they needed to buy. "Yes, lucky for us, Seonghwa made sure to remind me to put it in my bag this morning. It´s like he expects us to forget. I would never forget grocery shopping" Yunho complained before the two started laughing. It would not have been the first time, someone forgot to take the shopping list with them when going shopping. Once they had pulled up to the store, Yunho pulled his beanie over his head, to cover his messy hair, and placed on his face mask before getting out with Mingi.

The shopping itself went somewhat smoothly. Mingi had eventually disappeared so the manager had gone look for him, this was a normal thing, Mingi tended to get distracted a lot. As Yunho stood in the aisle with the cereal, a figure caught his attention. He looked over, trying to pass it off as simply looking around. The person just down the aisle was struggling to reach a box of cereal on the top shelf. Yunho considered for a second before walking over. "This one?" he asked as he reached for the box and handed it to the smaller person standing there.

You looked up at the taller boy, standing now beside you. You were feeling somewhat intimidated by how tall this man was compared to you, if you didn´t feel small before, as you were trying hard to reach the top shelf you definitely did now. "yeah, thank you so much. My brother would riot if I didn´t bring these home" you joked lightly, as you thanked the man and took the box as he handed it to you. Your eyes locked and you couldn´t help but admired how beautiful his eyes were. Yunho felt something inside of him as he locked eye with him, but he wasn´t sure what it was. He glanced at the box shortly and smiled "Oh I used to love those as a kid....well...actually I still do" he said sheepishly as he glanced at his shopping cart that had a familiar box in there. You let out a small giggle, at just how cute this tall man was. "well....thanks again for helping me...uhm sorry I didn´t catch your name" you said softly, hoping to atleast getting the name of the helpful stranger.

"Yunho. My name is Yunho" Yunho introduced himself happily to the smaller person in front of him. "Well nice to meet you Yunho. I´m (y/n)." you responded before the both of you shook hands. Yunho was pulled out of the comfortable silence by a familiar voice. "Yunhoooo" Mingi basically screamed through the store as he rushed to his friend. "come on I have to show you something!!" he said excitedly. You gave the man one more polite and thankful smile before heading off your way. Yunho watched you leave before he heard Mingi "who was that?" he asked. Yunho had a small smile on his lips as he kept looking towards where you had disappeared " (y/n)....weren´t they cute?" he said and that was how Yunho met someone who would become significantly important in his life.

How they act around you before you start dating - Hyung Line

Hongjoong:

Always extremely polite

Really sweet and caring

Will always make sure you are happy

Will invite you to hang out in the studio with him every now and then because it is the only time away he gets from the boys

Invites you once to the dorm, regrets it instantly
