ahhhh that is wonderful news!!! welcome to the Doctor Who fandom πŸ₯°πŸ’– hahaha, loads of people are starting the show for the first time because of Mr. Ring-A-Ding, or coming back after many years of not watching it!! i grew up with Doctor Who, fell out during my late teens/early twenties, and came back in 2023, so i have a few suggestions for you on where to start πŸ˜‰ (a little note! Whovians separate Doctor Who into three eras: Classic Who (1963-1989), NuWho (2005-2023), and...we don't know what to call the current era (2023-now) πŸ˜‚) βŒ› Lux (series 15 [or series 2 of the newest iteration] episode 2, 2025)!! this is Mr. Ring-A-Ding's first and only episode to date, and it is absolutely incredible πŸ‘€ Doctor Who is the longest running sci-fi show of all time that's been on since the 60s, so there's nothing wrong with throwing yourself in at the deep end wherever your interest is! i think Lux is a great introduction to the ideas behind Doctor Who, and seeing your new favourite villain will definitely keep your interest πŸ₯° plus, you meet our current Doctor (the Fifteenth Doctor played by Ncuti Gatwa) and you get a little bit of info on the Pantheon of Discord (spoilers!) βŒ› The Star Beast, Wild Blue Yonder and The Giggle (the 60th anniversary specials, 2023). back in 2023 we got three special episodes to mark the show's 60th anniversary, starring David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor (yes, he is also the Tenth Doctorβ€”don't worry, all will be explained πŸ˜‚) and Catherine Tate returning as companion Donna Noble!! lots of folks got back into the show at this point, and it gives an excellent catch-up on what's happened in Doctor Who. Russell T Davies returns as showrunner (who ran the NuWho Revival from 2005-2010), and we get set up a fabulous storyline which is very relevant to Mr. Ring-A-Ding (+ the introduction of the Fifteenth Doctor)!! my personal favourite episode is The Giggle...if you enjoy chaotic camp godlike beings and complete madness in an episode, you're going to like that one!! but honestly they're all really solid DW eps πŸ₯° βŒ› Rose (series 1 episode 1 of NuWho, 2005). this is the classic place for most people to start, as it's the Doctor Who most folks on this site grew up with: the Ninth Doctor played by Christopher Eccleston, and companion Rose Tyler played by Billie Piper!! super fun introduction to the show for new fans with a fabulous Doctor, and very watchable. of all the episodes, i think this is the one that most folks remember as being NuWho πŸ‘€ before the 60th anniversary eps, i started binge-re-watching from here, and loved every second πŸ˜‚ βŒ› or...you could pick a Doctor/character and go from there! πŸ₯° don't be intimidated by how big the show is: there are 888 episodes to date with 97 missing and a crazy bit of extended universe-lore. very few fans have ever seen all of it, and no one knows everything!! i think the best is approach is to go where your interest is. maybe you could ask for everyone's favourite episodes and try them out! for a while, i was in a Doctor Who server and we'd watch an episode from a different Doctor every week πŸ˜‚ that's my gigantic recommendation list!! if i had to pick one...my favourite episode is The Giggle, and it would definitely prime you for where Doctor Who is now. but wherever you start, i hope you have the most fantastic time :3c

this is the best day of my life. they created Mr. Ring-A-Ding with such severe Tumblr Sexyman energy that he's fully escaped containment and has people who've never seen Doctor Who or haven't watched it in years wanting to try it again. WHOVIANS. WE'VE WON πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
