i have been hanging onto jennifer’s copy of the only good indians for months, just letting it sink lower and lower in my tbr........i’ve bought stephen graham jones’ newest book in the meantime and haven’t read that either......what i’m saying is that i’m stupid

a book that’s been on your tbr forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up:

my whole apartment is riddled with books i have been meaning to ready for ages, but one of the ones that haunts me the most is the great believers. like i KNOW i will love it!! but here we are, going on four years since i purchased it....

a book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t finished yet:

the daevabad trilogy!!!! i loved the city of brass but then there was too much down time between when i read it and when i bought the kingdom of copper and i wanted to reread the first book but i didn’t feel like i had time and now i have books 2 and 3 just SITTING AROUND arghhhhh

omg also hilary mantel’s wolf hall cycle or whatever we’re meant to call that trilogy. i’m a fake member of mantel hive. i fucking love wolf hall but have not read bring up the bodies or the mirror and the light, despite shipping myself exorbitantly priced special hardcover editions from the uk. the clown nose never comes off!

a classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read:

i am addicted to buying cheap or interesting-looking paperbacks of classic and obscure lgbt literature on abebooks and then just adding them to my obscene piles of unread books so i think there are many from that stack that would apply but the two i feel the worst about not reading yet are the color purple and maurice. someday!!!! soon!!!!!!

okay so see earlier answer about buying vintage gay paperbacks....i just got a new batch in, which includes what i think is now the jewel in my collection?? pembroke park, published in 1986, now out of print and dumb expensive, which claims to be the first lesbian regency romance. i WILL be reading this asap and reporting back

a book that inspired a film/tv adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet:

okay maybe this is a bit of a stretch but i love the show dickinson but i haven’t actually read that much of emily dickinson’s poetry outside of like one or two in an academic setting. as much as i love poetry, i don’t actually own that many collections and i feel like i should invest in a dickinson one but idk where to start???
