20 weeks of language blog challenges: week 1

Yes finally got around to starting my own langblr challenge, and even managed to start within WEEK 1 of the year. See the challenge here. This week’s challenge is: Introduce yourself in your target language and explain why you are studying this language. 

Moi! Olen Lily. Olen opiskellut suomea toistaiseksi noin 3,5 vuotta. Vitsi, onko oikeasti ollut 3,5 v? No ainakin muistan, että joskus vuonna 2017 tiesin 100 sanaa suomeksi (silloin olen oppinut lähinnä lainasanoja: poliisi, pinkki, violetti, ambulanssi, jne). No, miksi opiskelen suomea? Minulla on ehkä todella tavallinen/tylsä syy opiskella suomea: minun puolisoni on suomalainen. Suhteellisen aikaisin meidän suhteessame halusin yrittää opiskella vähän suomea. Ainakin muistan joskus minun poikaystäväni sanoi, että suomeksi hänen nimensä taipuu, ja kun hän selitti, kuinka paljon hänen oman nimensä voi muuttua ... no jostain syystä silloin suomen kieli vaikutti todella mielenkiintoiselta.  Olen nyt asunut Suomessa vuoden. Käytän suomea päivittäin (luultavasti usein todella huonosti) ja yritän vielä opiskella suomea niin aktiivisesti kuin mahdollista. 

Hi! I am Lily. I have studied Finnish so far for about 3.5 years. Has it really been 3.5 years already? Well at least I remember that sometime in 2017 I new about 100 words in Finnish (at that time I had learnt mostly loan words like: police, pink, purple, ambulance, etc.) Well, why am I studying Finnish? I have maybe a very common/boring reason: my partner is Finnish. Relatively early in our relationship I wanted to try to study a little bit of Finnish. At least I remember at some time my boyfriend said, that in Finnish his name can be conjugated [how do I even say this in English?] and when he explained how much his own name could change... well for some reason I thought Finnish seemed really interesting. I have lived in Finland for a year now. I use Finnish daily (probably often very badly) and I am trying to still study Finnish as actively as possible.

en pääse siitä yli et ite käytän “kokoomusnuorta” täysin aina 100% dissauksena ja vähän aikaa sitten puhuin itteni kanssa poliittisesti samanhenkisen kaverin kanssa joka sano persufaijansa sanoneen sille et “pidä sit hauskaa kokoomusnuortes kanssa”. koska sillekin kokoomusnuoret on vitsi. oletan et eri syistä mut silti. maybe we’re not that different after all

1. Are you named after someone? Nope, unless you count the fact that my second name is kinda a "running thing" in our family. My dad has it and i think my granddad had it too. lmao.

2. When was the last time you cried? today, was with my friends and because we watched Interstellar (which i've seen like 7 times already and still cryfest.png)

3. Do you like your own handwriting? yeah, when i really 

4. What is your favourite lunch meat? uhhh.... what.

5. Do you have kids? lolno

6. Do you use sarcasm? never have i ever.

9. What is your favourite kind of cereal? if muesli counts as cereal, that.

13. What is the first thing you notice about people? i've noticed that is the way they speak. weirdly enough. otherwise its just some odd detail here and there.

15. What is your least favourite thing about yourself? im anxious af and i get sad over nothing so uhh.

16. What colour pants are you wearing right now? adidas sweatpants bcs lazy and i need to meet the weekly slav quota.

17. what was the last thing you ate? a sandwich.

18. What are you listening to right now? some Purity Ring bcs im boring ok.

19. If your were a crayon what kind of crayon would you be? the crayon with a really weird and obscure name.

20. Favourite smell?   coffee? maybe?

21. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone? my friend bcs i asked him to open the door.

22. Favourite sport to watch? hockey.

23. Hair colour? light brown-ish kinda sorta maybe idk.

24. Eye colour? green.

25. Favourite food to eat? i really like to eat chicken wok bcs its easy and cheap and easy and cheap.

26. Scary movie or happy endings? Happy endings, i rly can't handle scary movies, since i've only seen one like 1,5 years ago or so lol.

27. Last movie you watched? Interstellar.
