Sometimes all you ever need to survive is one person. Peter Cadoc had his one person in his older brother, Damien. They may not have had parents or any family besides each other, but that was okay. Even as they were bounced from foster home to foster home, Peter always knew that he was safe because his brother was with him. Peter was always small in stature, nerdy, and quiet, so he often attracted bullies at school. Sometimes he tried to hide it from Damien, but sometimes he didn’t or couldn’t. One of those times, when Peter was eleven, his brother came to his defense and killed the bully for him. And then Damien disappeared and Peter was left in foster care, scared and truly alone for the first time in his life.
The foster homes were rough, full of hate and uncaring people. He was an easy target without Damien around to protect him. When it came time for him to go to a new foster home, Peter fought them as hard as he could, insisting that he had to stay so that Damien could find him. He was forced away anyway. The months turned into years and as Peter grew, he remained on the small side, quiet, and nerdy but learned how to fight back - at least somewhat. It was just after he graduated high school, when he was 17, that his werewolf gene was triggered. He had been kissing a boy from his school in an alleyway, for fear of being caught, when a man saw them and began angrily yelling homophobic slurs. The man and his friends had clearly been drinking and wasted no time in attacking them. They were grabbing both of the boys and hitting them repeatedly, but when one of them pulled out a knife and moved towards the boy Peter had been kissing, Peter lost control, getting free of the hold he was in and disarming the man before killing him himself. The other men ran immediately, as did the boy, and finally, Peter fled himself, leaving town and never looking back. It wasn’t long after that the first transformation occurred.
Terrified and alone, Peter fought to find a balance within himself, hitchhiking to Washington State. He lived on the streets for a while, and finally managed to move into a broken down apartment, working horrible job after horrible job as he tried to make ends meet. Roommates came and went, but no one ever stayed, and Peter eventually accepted that that was how the world worked.
Everything changed when Peter was 22 and became roommates with another young man named Travis. Travis was a nymph, the first supernatural that Peter had met since Damien. They got close, bonding over their abilities and the fact that they were both LGBTQ (although Peter was far from out in the open about it after what had happened to him before). Eventually, Travis told him about a place that he had heard about called Romulus. They began making plans to go, saving their money and Peter finally allowed himself to dream about finding his brother. But then when Peter was 22, Travis was shot in town. While Peter had no concrete idea as to what happened, his own experiences led him to believe that it was another hate crime. No matter the reason, however, Peter was on his own again but he refused to let go of the hope of seeing his brother again. Desperate for a piece of hope, for a chance, he made his way to Romulus, slowly, taking buses and hitchhiking when he felt that he couldn’t afford a bus. He spent his 23rd birthday alone in a rundown motel with the last bit of his money, and it was only then that he let himself cry about losing Travis, about the knowledge that Damien probably wouldn’t even be there in Romulus, that Damien too might be dead.
However, he found his brother in town after all and the two became roommates, with Peter getting a job as a barista at the Sweet Spot. He hit it off with Ivy Sloane immediately, the two becoming best friends until they became more. Over the summer, Peter took a job at the library, among the books that he had always loved so much.

◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ & ღ & ♫ bc ur a slut for music ; & ✮ (i want explanaTIONS ...gET META W THIS SHIT )
◈ — share some head-canons you have for a muse of your choosing, but x4.
[ elijah kane ] ◈ — all efforts to get him into studying how to make robotics like hyacinth have resulted in a lot of miniature woodland creatures able to sprint across desks. it’s not exactly what anybody had in mind, but hey, you never know if ilya might not want to send in an actual animal for something he has going on. they can call up sugar kane industries ( big face-palm here ) to take care of the job. ( wyatt voice: seriously, you couldn’t think of anything better than sugar kane. ) / hyacinth kane has a nice ring to it. elijah has tested out several different nicknames: sugar kane also for them, mistah k, ( missus k? ), cinthy ... cindy ... ( sean: yeah! cindy k! like cindy crawford! / who the fuck is cindy crawford? / wyatt — / how old are you. ) / he’s had a life-long dream to be able to go scuba-diving off the coast of — some exotic island he can’t remember the name of. beforehand, it was one of those things that he was too afraid to do, but full-out war changes your perspective. in truth, he’s always been a water baby, growing up going swimming in the local rivers and running pellmell down the dirt lanes. he grew out of it, and then grew back into it. whether or not he’s going to be able to do that without monroe tagging along ( and then by default, ilya, and then probably hojin will want to come, and then ravi will have to, and then oliver will want to watch over them and then jinho will buy a whole yacht with his dumb vampire money — ) — ah, well, there’s worse people to spend an extended holiday with. his father will come along too: sit on the deck in a lawn chair and drink a virgin margarita as he deserves after putting up with this whole extended family. and with his son being a you-know-what.
[ alice bedi ] ◈ — there was a time where she was interested in wigs. she had percival sit down on her shack’s bed and watch as she perused through at least fifteen different styles of wigs. each one got a firm head-shake: too rough on your complexion; lilac looks good as a colour, but the style is horrid; why did they think it was a good idea to make a bob that length? a tough customer. she returned back to wearing veils, her preferred style being that of mantilla, or the veil that’s worn to chapel over a jade comb. due to the volume and length of her natural curls, she rarely wears the combs at all, but will if it’s a particularly formal occasion, like that time she accompanied percival to a ‘high-society event.’ ( translation: they crashed a party because he was bored, and she had a bad feeling about him going alone. ) / as the local librarian’s assistant, she’s the first to get in the way when someone is overtly curious: why are you asking so many questions? hmm? the irony is that she herself asks just as many questions — she insists that the difference is: she reads the room and knows when it’s inappropriate to ask them. ( and if she knows it’s inappropriate to ask them, and instead chooses to risk asking them regardless, it’s because she knows it’ll smooth out in the end. / despite what she wears daily, one of her most favourite colours is moss green. there are a multitude of reasons. moss is her favourite foliage. it’s similar to algae, another favourite foliage. and it reminds her of someone who she says is her sister; however, anybody who knows her, knows that she has no blood-siblings. one or the other might be a lie, or both might be the truth. when she’s in a mood, she’ll smear the moss at the base of her neck like a perfume, a splotch of green beneath white.
[ huang shen ] ◈ — he designed an irrigation system to work, specific to his farm, to be able to make rice paddies despite the surrounding environment. it’s a southern crop in the united states, but there was no way he was going to move to the south just to expand the business. his entire family was so relieved about it that they danced through the sprinklers and set off fireworks — and none of them are really into that kind of thing. it’s particularly incredible due to the area they’re in, being very prone to sometimes too much drought and too much rain, and both are responsible for driving out selling numbers of crops. his plan is to switch into an agricultural degree, and perhaps even expand it into engineering, so that he can continue helping this way. / one of his surprises for algernon was learning sign language. for the longest time, months even, shen made it out like he had no idea what was being said, and let damien, as surly as ever, be the translator when algernon was unwilling or unable to speak. in the background, however, he was working with a tutor and seeking to understand better what it meant to be both HoH and mute. then, when algernon’s birthday came around, everyone went silent ( holy god he was so nervous ) and he gave an entire romantic, long speech entirely in sign language. he’s sure that some of it got lost in translation due to how hard his hands were shaking, but the way that algernon kissed him afterwards, it didn’t seem to affect much. now, they communicate constantly on this even ground. / he’s started up horseback riding again — and has roped tobias into doing it alongside him. tobias might have grace on the stage floor, but certainly not on the back of a horse; he somehow ended up upside-down beneath the horse’s belly, and then fell down in a tangle of limbs. shen has taken to the western side of things, re-learning how to barrel race and rope cattle; but he and tobias have had to separate their lessons due to these antics. lucas isn’t allowed to come to any of them; his stupid remarks send them into fits of laughing. ( bold of us to assume he doesn’t just sit in the truck and shout anyways. )
[ deok bae ] ◈ — due to the empire no longer supporting his upgrades, nor looking in his general direction, he has had to find other ways to obtain new modifications. this is including, but not limited to, going and pulling them out of other people’s bodies as catharsis — but usually, he defects to yuri and silas to fix him up. to his chagrin, the LED-light in his forehead has absolutely no use whatsoever, only displaying his brain’s processing as a symptom of installation. he pulled it out himself via the tip of a knife’s blade. the next time that he’s seen by those who haven’t seen him in quite some time, he might be unrecognisable. i am not deok bae — perhaps deok bae is no longer himself either. if there was no connection to eli in his head, he would forget that; perhaps he would merely succumb to the machinery, perhaps he would succumb to the wolf-dom. there are several pairs of teeth in his mouth awaiting for their moment to bite. / when he was a teen, his version of ‘sneaking out’ would be to wheel his chair to the gardens at the back of the temple, where he would sit and think for hours and hours. his father would come and find him there; sometimes, master jhcor would instead. his father would return him back to where he needed to be, but master jhcor would sit beside him and gaze serenely until bae felt the need to speak what was on his mind: his angers, his fevers, his rages. one time, he was surprised to see that it was not master jhcor, nor master deok, but zan coming to sit with him. his heart had sat in his throat the whole time, half-expecting zan to laugh at him or say something particularly piteous. instead, the conversation was — well, looking back, absurdly normal, all things considering. when bae blinked tiredly, zan rose and took the handles of his chair and took him back. he hadn’t intended to ask him to do so, but it was done anyway. / bae drinks a lot of soda. it’s somewhat fitting, if you believe all that talk about how coca-cola can double as a cleaner due to the high carbonation and way it’s made. he does seem to get shiny after several cans — it’s also convenient that he can’t experience sugar-highs nor malfunctions of the liver or stomach due to too much consumption. he considers himself to be a soda connoisseur as a result. he offers a lot of hmm, that’ll taste disgusting comments that annoy the shit out of the others — but then kisung takes a drink and bae ends up being right, so there’s no regrets.
ღ ━ favourite canon ships for your muse(s). are there any you dislike?
there’s ... none that i dislike. there’s moments of come on, but that’s bound to happen. i think the favourite ships are the ... guardian / princess vibes ( whether it’s literal or not: akane / the samurai, quinn / sehrin, jian / elaine ). i also love the growing from previous immaturities towards each other ( grey / tobias, jihoon / wyatt, playboy / jordan ) — and himbos of course ( hojin / ravi!! ) there’s also the whole ... tsh, vampiric aesthetic that we get ( minzhe / yongha ) ... the ones like jisoo / mingfei, cyrian / ulysses, cadoc / pestilence ( exploring violence against but without the stickiness ). of course, if i keep going, i’ll end up listing all of them and then where would we be.
♫ ━ a small playlist for a muse of your choice
for nam jungsoo, because i actually once did make a playlist for him:
1. brand new — sic transit gloria ... glory fades 2. within temptation — what have you done 3. iamx feat. imogen heap — my secret friend 4. florence + the machine — shipwreck (the odyssey) 5. crown the empire — hologram
i mean, the songs are still kinda relevant considering his current character ...
✮ ━ top three favourite muses that you’ve played
but is it possible to pick three favourites ... that’s the real question. maybe. jianguo, because of catharsis, because of cultural exploration and similarities. grendel, because of the depth, the personal torment, the surrounding family. jinho & julius, because of exploring that darkness. and famine — man, now that’s something. there’s a lot more than three though. like blood and jisoo and tobias and arthur. but. the questions INSIST THAT I CHOOSE.

Lethe has a way of housing lost souls and Jack Danvers is one of the many new faces searching for something in life to hold onto. Born in Chicago, Jack was removed from his home at a young age due to having parents who were unfit to ever raise a child. His grandmother who was his only other living relative moved him to Detroit to stay with her, so that he wouldn’t have been taken by the state. The shift in family dynamics had a huge impact on Jack, causing him to believe it wasn’t about the amount of people that were family but  the quality of what you have that mattered most in the end. While he wasn’t inherintetly a troublemaker, trouble had a way of finding Jack. Due to living in the poorer side of the city, he would hang out with a bad crowd but had tried to be the voice of reason. While he didn’t hate the idea of learning, being at school all day just wasn’t holding his interests. The only time he would pay attention in class was when he shared English with Bridget Cadoc. He was instantly smitten with her, but believed that she wanted nothing to do with him considering their vastly different social classes and high school dynamics.  However, it was her who approached Jack before he had a chance to come up with a reason to talk to her. The pair fell in love despite the misgivings Bridget’s family had. To them, Jack was not the type of guy they saw Bridget ending up with. They only saw him as trouble and a kid from the wrong side of town. While still in high school Bridget got pregnant with their first child, Damien and it only magnified to her family that Jack only brought trouble. Her family cut her off completely, despite the fact she would have chosen Jack and the family they made with him over her own. Jack dropped out of high school to get work and while they struggled financially at first, Jack knew Bridget was going to be the person he spent his life with. As soon as he got the money together, he was going to marry her and give everyone the life they deserved.
After the birth of their second child Peter, plans were put in motion but nothing ever stayed perfect. In 1997 the pair were involved in a plane crash, killing Bridget and injuring Jack. He survived, but was badly scarred and had been mistakenly reported dead. By the time he was able to go home, his sons had been taken into custody and put in foster care. Jack had lost the love of his life and his only family left, his children. Due to several complications  Jack was unable to find where his sons had been moved and he quickly spiraled into depression and anxiety. His slide into emotional upheaval turned out to be his undoing when his werewolf side had been triggered during a bar fight gone wrong. He had been in a fragile state due to the stress of trying to find his sons and the growing psychological strain of the situation and killed a man trying to pick a fight with him. The fallout left him a werewolf but also sent him on a path to trying to manage his depression. Forest Hawthorne had been a witness to the altercation and helped Jack pick up the pieces in his life once.. The pair became fast friends and someone Jack could lean on when things become difficult. After a period of adjustment, Jack started to try to put some semblance of a life together. He covered his scars from the accident with tattoos, eventually went back to school and used  music as a way to deal with thing’s since he always believed music had a way to heal. Meeting Milo Adkins during this period also seemed to prove that despite having no blood family left he still had others to lean on as friends. Despite moving forward in many ways, Jack always had one foot in the past. Bridget was never far from his thoughts nor were his sons. He could never fully get out of the rut he had been in despite how much he seemed to be getting thing’s together. He was creating a life for himself, but he was doing it without his family. Milo and Forest truly started to become his second family which was why he felt motivated to join them in Lethe and open TriBeCa with them. The life he had now was something Jack had never thought he would have after losing so much and he was grateful he had something to pour all of his energy into.
Since the move to Lethe, Jack has felt like the town is incredibly strange. For a place that seems like such a safe haven for supernaturals, there seems to be a copious amount of disasters and strange happenings. The riverborn in particular seem to be something that gets to him. He knows he’s lost a lot in his life but knows losing his memories would be his worst nightmare. All Jack has from his life before are his memories of Bridget, Damien and Peter. He couldn’t bear to ever forget any of the good no matter how short lived it all was. He knows that he should move on now, but how do you put to rest someone who changed your life for the better? It had been over twenty years and there is a part of Jack that is still in mourning. He didn’t think he wasted his life at all knowing that his hard work with his friends was for something, but it wasn’t the one he had thought so long ago. Over the years managing his depression didn’t seem as hard, but his constant state of worry has never subsided. He’s become rather cautious because he knows that anything good can suddenly disappear. Little does he know that fate has actually thrown him a bone and his sons are currently living in Lethe now that he’s moved in. So much time has passed however that its certain he wont recognize the wonderful adults the pair had become. He’s lost so much time that is seems like there seems like no logical way to bring it back.

No dice, as always. No sign of Peter fuckin’ Cadoc anywhere online. Cadoc wasn’t a common name, he should be easy to spot if he had any form of social media, but maybe Damien’s distrust ran deep enough to penetrate his brother’s state of mind. It was a shame, because two months after being out of the horror show and still no leads. Sometimes he itched to get out of this town and go back ‘home,’ but at least here he was recuperating, learning things, acclimating back to society. With a sigh, he turned off the library’s computer and ventured outside to his normal thinking spot. However when he came upon it, some youngster in sunglasses was sitting under his favorite tree. He supposed there were others, but god he was irked and tired and just wanted to catch one single break today. “You’re in my spot, little lady,” he said without malice, almost a hint of confusion as to how she found his rather obvious spot. Still, it was his first time seeing anyone else sit there. That was the good thing about this small town, he supposed.

Peter is only just learning about everything going on in town, but he feels uncertain about how much has been going on lately. With the murder of Patrick and Friedman on the loose, Peter isn’t sure that he feels safe, but he isn’t about to run away from it. He’s been around violence enough in his life to know that he can handle it and come out okay, but he worries about Damien, knowing that he couldn’t survive if something happened to his brother. He would kill or die for him in a heartbeat, determined that now that he has him, he won’t lose him again. As for the Riverborn, Peter’s heart goes out to them. His past is such a big part of who he is, whether he likes it or not, that he can’t imagine it being taken away. He’s weary of them instinctually, but overall willing to mingle with them after dealing with the discrimination that he has. Mostly, he hopes that the town will be safe and that his brother won’t be in danger if they stay there.
