Wait I had a thought about your one sided beeftho

So like Beef is content just loving from afar, knowing his love will never be reciprocated, but then someone comes along and finds out and is like “you gotta tell him *heart eyes*”. And beef is just “…um, no” but this person is really persistent and determined to play matchmaker for the two to the point they start pointing out everything Etho does for Beef as an act of love and gets in Beef’s head about how maybe he does actually like him back and they could be together and happy if Beef just confessed which, admittedly, Beef falls for pretty easily because after years of repression he just wants some real, some more. (This person isn’t malicious btw, just delusional… unless…?)

So Beef does, after years of shoving his emotions into a box, he lets them out and tells Etho that it feels like the sun shines a little brighter when he’s around, that colors become more vibrant when he smiles, and the wind feels warm and comforting when they touch and Etho… doesn’t feel the same. At all. Not even a little.

And they stand there in silence as Beef realizes what he’s done, how right he was before all this. The painful satisfaction in knowing that he knew his friend better than anyone else. His heart aches in a way it never has standing this close to Etho now.

He thinks Etho just made a joke, something to break the tension, but the blood rushing through his ears are deafening. He laughs anyways. It’s all just a joke.
