Hello lovely! I just wanted to say thank you. Your brotherhood and bullets stories have given me and others so, so much joy. Thank you for being wonderful and sharing your work with us. ❤️
Anon, I have had this sitting in my inbox for a few days now, and I haven’t answered as fast I normally would because it doesn’t feel real. Every time I read this I start tearing up (happy tears) because I can’t believe that something I have done something and I have created something that is bringing anyone as much joy as it does.
And every time I try and find words to try and express my gratitude for such a beautiful message, I can’t. It just doesn’t work. So, to save me rambling, I’m just gonna say, from the bottom of my very big heart - thank you.
You are the reason that I share my works, and you are the sole reason I stay motivated. Your kind words are now printed out and pinned up on my pinboard for whenever I feel like my writing isn’t good enough - because if you enjoy it, I’ll be damned if I quit and take it away from you.
I am sending the warmest and squishiest hugs with some forehead kisses your way, no matter where you are in the world. 💗

Random screencaps from Life is Strange
Tumblr media
One of my many everyday moods too, Max.
Tumblr media
I hope those pizza slices are not like four days old. Also, I’m guessing from all the pizza boxes we see in Chloe’s room in Episode 1, when she gets the munchies, it’s pizza time, bitches.
Tumblr media
It’s probably not clear in this, because yay Tumblr making these screenshots small, but that’s a postcard with the words “Seattle, Washington” on it. Hmm...interesting. (I think this is episode 1, can’t remember.)
Tumblr media
Just noticed there is a full moon on Tuesday night (same day as when Kate...you know...), which throws another monkey wrench in there about something fucking weird going on, because remember that solar eclipse that happened earlier that day? The only time that happens is when it’s a new moon (when the moon is in between the Earth and the sun); a full moon and a solar eclipse could never happen on the same day. Definitely something funky going on there with Max’s timey-wimey traveling powers!
Tumblr media
The real reason they snuck into Blackwell: to make out in the Principal’s office.
Tumblr media
Chloe absolutely ordered that sign from somewhere online, because duh, she’s still Chloe even in the alternate timeline. Gotta love our fave punk girl.
Tumblr media
I love you, Max, but I think you’re being just a little unnecessarily salty here--I get the feeling like alt!Chloe was at least happy to see alt!Max enjoying herself and going on adventures and sharing those funtimes with her via her favourite hobby: photography. If it upset Chloe to see Max having such happy times, then she probably wouldn’t have asked her parents to pin it up on the pinboard. Then again, I might be missing something as usual.
Tumblr media
I’m not sure, Max. The teddy bear could’ve been from anyone, and I don’t think a plush anthropomorphic hot dog counts ;). I wonder if it’s some of Max’s own assumptions and so on about people who are at least severely disabled like alt!Chloe is? Hmm...interesting. Might have to write a think post on that, especially as I’m a person with a disability myself. Not now though, brain’s too lazy.
Tumblr media
She looks so cute sleeping like that on Chloe’s bed, but all I can think is, “that looks so uncomfortable, she’s gotta be sore sleeping in that position all night.” I’m guessing it’s probably not safe to actually get IN bed with Chloe (much as I’d like to see that--Pricefield snuggles!), as a) it’s not that big a bed, and b) Chloe’s got an IV drip and a ventilator in her, and it’d probably be way too easy to knock that by accident when sleeping with them. Then again, Max is a tiny cinnamon roll so she might be fine anyway.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only important dialogue exchange in the entire game. Good to see some things never change, like Chloe flirting hardcore with Max, in the alternate timeline.
Tumblr media
“Ass-kicking robot leg” - Chloe, no doubt. And if so, had she written it? Because that would imply that note had been stuck on the fridge for 2 or so years straight.

rises from the dead like mushu hullo it’s nora ( gmt, she/her) n i’m sorry didnt do my intro yesterday, i woke up in a bath, happy new year. anyway bridget is a mess, the angsty socialist leftie liberal who gets fucked at the pub and goes off on one about immigration or the welfare state or the pay gap. very talkative n bubbly, carefree but also.... cares too much. always in docs but only the vegan ones. usually in a beret with an anarchist symbol painted on it. wears a long green trench coat covered in badges for alt punk rock bands or a red denim jacket that she hacked into a crop jacket with a pair of kitchen scissors. film nerd. got in on a partially subsidised scholarship and works in a bar and a fast food place to pay for her accomodation.
heres a pinboard. everythin else is below this cut, like this post n i’ll smash that im button for plots x
it might be HER SOPHOMORE year but I still think BRIDGET MATUSIAK looks exactly like MARGARET QUALLEY and sometimes I think the FEMALE is actually them. Of course I’m wrong, as they’re TWENTY and studying FILM while living in FIDELIS here at Lockwood. The ARIES can be rather CANDID and GARRULOUS, but also kind of FICKLE and ERRATIC. Their most played song on Spotify was NOBODY REALLY CARES IF YOU DON’T GO TO THE PARTY by COURTNEY BARNETT, so I think that says a lot.
bridget n her mum alice were more like sisters growing up, probably because of the closeness in age. alice should’ve known that you couldn’t have a thirteen-year-old-daughter at 27 without everyone knowing you’d been one of those girls who gave it away fast as a hot potato, and maybe bridget should have known that she’d inherit more than her mother’s wide eyes, that things had a way of circling back, that at fourteen she too would lose it on the floor of a swimming pool changing room, soggy back, poka-dot nylon pulled down to her ankles.
her parents met in high school. her mother alice was a roman catholic – uneducated in matters of safe sex, mother mary around her neck, bras hanging over wooden crucifixes – and willing to give it to the first boy who seemed interested enough, gift-wrapped or not.
i say they met in high school, bridget’s dad wasn’t actually in school, they met at the high school. he was the father to a girl down the road. alice knew nothing of the girl besides her name and the few encounters in the corridors facing a stoney stare that screamed homewrecker. it only happened once, but once was enough. soon the pitter patter of tiny feet sounded along the hall of the home for wayward women, alice’s parents having thrown her out as soon as they knew a child was growing in her womb.
gilly (referred to as junior) was born two years later, the son of a mechanic and handyman named gilbert “gilly” senior, who - while a slow-witted man – was likable enough. alice, gilly bridget & junior lived in a colorado trailer park and whenever she wasn’t at school bridget would be in gilly’s workshop doin her homework surrounded by parts of exhausts.  was raised in a workshop basically.
like her mother, bridget fell pregnant barely out of her gingham print dresses, hair in two plaits down her back, teddies still lining her bed. unlike her mum, she was not box-shipped out to a home for fallen women but rather booked into a clinic, given a pill, just like taking your vitamins.
her mother flaked out when bridget was around fifteen and junior was twelve, leaving gil to adopt the two as legal guardian and raise them in the forge. she’s lived with gilly ever since. they’re not sure where their mother went. some say she rededicated herself as a virgin and joined the convent in penance for her sins. some say she works in a las vegas strip club and sells pills to minors.
used to do sponsored silences and hunger strikes for kids in third world countries. was that kid in school who was always raising money something. i mean its kinda cute but also she just wanted the acclaim and attention so.... and most of the time it didn’t even make it to the disadvantaged kids she was raising it for cos her mom needed rent money or to buy the kids new shoes n they could barely afford much themselves
she’s a strident feminist, an activist for human rights and animal rights, a vocal vegetarian and an all-round soapbox sadie. catch her in the quad shouting about human rights through a megaphone.
aesthetic: cuffed jeans, thrifted or stolen. white converse, more grey tbh through years of wear. crop tops and plaid shirts tied round her waist. a long green trench coat with loads of badge pins for alt-rock bands and independent films. red denim jacket, also covered in badges n pins. smudged mascara. glitter smeared over cheekbones from the previous night. cigarette smoke shrouding you like a veil, the red string of a thong peaking out purposely from jeans, roller blades, cut knees, not eating your greens, smiling with a mouthful of blood, and piercing your own ears with a safety pin when your dad wouldn’t take you, kate moss posters lining the walls of a teenage bedroom, thumb holes poked through the cuffs of your sleeves, feet pounding the earth until your soles bleed crimson, sleeping in a cherry lip balm and scrunchies to keep the wild locks from your eyes.
an aspiring screenwriter. she has a very image-based view of memory and experience. always doing a screenplay or shooting film. her style has a lot of catholic iconography (think virgin suicides styler or baz luhrmann’s romeo + juliet if it was done on a super 8 camera) bcos catholicism is one of the few things she remembers about her mother. she’s never actually tried to find her mum / find out about her, jst…. occasionally channels that energy into her work.
hypersexual and kinda manic-depressive (though not diagnosed) probs bcos her upbringing was a bit unstable, she started life in a house that was literally designed to rehabilitate “fallen women” and she was a looked after child for a while when the adoption papers were still going through… struggles a lot with feeling unwanted, especially since her grandparesnts refuse to acknowledge her existence cos she was born outside of marriage….. so she craves feeling wanted,, like despite being a real women’s rights activist ad hating objectification, at the same time to bridge there’s nothing better than someone sizing you up with hunger in their eyes
she’s queer, but i guess she favours women, and is incredibly vocal in her support of the lgbt+ movement. often at ralleys. has done a face-sitting protest. really is that bitch
there’s a degree of anger for anger’s sake in bridget. she likes passionate, angry music – particularly garage rock, punk and riot grrrl. she loves the slits and skinny girl diet. viv albertine inspired her to take up bass guitar.
working two jobs to pay for uni currently !! works at the bowling alley polishing the shpes and fixing the bowling lanes, and also is a burger flipper at mcdonalds. a lot of her time is spent in the record store, plugged into a set of headphones, head-banging in the corner to a scratched record. music, for birdie, is a form of escapism. that and dropping acid in parking lots lmao.
massive film buff. is majoring in film at uni also spends a lot of time at the movie theatre n probably has like a season ticket. is one of those pretentious film nerds who’s like “what do u think of goddard’s work?” but also just really into shitty horror movies
she spends her evenings in downtown bars willing away her boredom, trying to find something that’ll jerk her out of apathetic lethargy. she toys with the idea of becoming a stripper — it certainly pays better than fixing bowling lanes — but she lacks the energy to dance for several hours a night.
she loves b movies and slasher flicks. at parties, she’ll occasionally try to make a horror of her own, on a super 8 camera in someone’s basement, very paranormal activity, but she’ll inevitably get bored, or too drunk and give up, like she does with most things in her life. she lacks drive and motivation. she’s bright but there’s no hunger in her.
writes shitty poems on the back of napkins and quotes dead philosophers she’s never read. romanticises herself a lot. like will be standing there in a ripped t-shirt and her undies smoking a cig like “hmmm… i bet someone is falling in love with me right now”
is vegetarian for environmental reasons but snorts coke at parties ?? sis, it don’t add up
loves dirt. ate a worm once because someone dared her too. shamelessly disgusting.
she’s slightly obsessed with true crime, up late watching documentaries on the manson family murders.
she’s fickle and enigmatic. one moment she could be your best friend, the next, she’ll behave like a total stranger. bridget’s unpredictable because she’s still unsure of her own identity, frequently flitting between different characters, like snake skins, before she grows bored of being bubbly and eager and becomes spiteful again. her core personality traits are probably forthright, impulsive, restless, thrill-seeking, selfish, melancholic.
an awful person, really
feel free to im me if u wanna plot, here are some plot ideas i stole, or, like this post and i’ll hit u with a message!

Watermelon Sangria

Watermelon Sangria
Tumblr media
Watermelon Sangria is one of my favorite sangria recipes for the summer! Made with fresh watermelon, oranges, and limes, it’s a refreshing, tasty cocktail! Sangria Recipes are the perfect cocktail to serve to friends and family! I like to serve them along with Pineapple Mango Salsa and Mexican 7-Layer Cream Cheese Dip! What is SangriaSangria is a punch made with wine. It’s traditionally a red wine mixed with fresh fruit and juices. Sangria, as we know it, is from Spain. The first sip we got in the U.S. was a red sangria at the 1964 World’s Fair in the Spanish Pavilion. I can only imagine that was the busiest pavilion!Ever since that summer, we’ve been making lots of different sangria recipes based on the first sangria recipe! During the summer months, I love sipping on white sangrias. White wine, orange juice, and any other summer fruit make the most refreshing drink! How to Make SangriaSangria is one of the most simple cocktail recipes to make! Start by pouring your favorite wine, red or white, into a large pitcher. Add in your favorite fruit, like apples oranges or seedless watermelon and a fruit juice like lime juice to the pitcher and stir to combine! Some people will add a simple syrup but I like to taste to see if it needs any additional sweetness. Generally, you want to make sure you can let the sangria sit for 4 to 8 hours before drinking. This makes sure that all the flavors can mix together. If you can make it the day before it’s even better! Just let it sit in the fridge until you’re ready to serve it up!Watermelon Sangria RecipeLike this recipe? Pin it to your Cocktail pinboard!Follow Real Housemoms on Pinterest What Do You Mix with SangriaWatermelon Sangria is simple to make with just seven ingredients. You probably already have them your kitchen during the summer! I used Moscato wine to make it a touch sweeter without having to add simple syrup. Then mixed in vodka, triple sec, seedless watermelon, sliced lime, and oranges.Other great ingredients you could mix in are;Berries– Any summer berry would be delicious but my favorite would be strawberries, blackberries or both!Grapefruit– This would add a bit of a tart balance to the flavor. I would probably do this and mix in tequila in place of the vodka.Rum– This would replace the vodka. I love rum drinks in the summer.Tequila– Tequila is another spirit that screams summer to me! I would add a bit of lime juice as well.Bubbles– I love bubbles with my sangria! You can use sparkling wine, club soda or a lemon-lime soda. Sparkling White Peach Sangria is one of my favorites!Easy Entertaining with Sangria RecipesAs soon as the weather warms up I love heading out back to hang out with friends and family! We like to have people over to play cards while we snack and sip on yummy drinks! One of my favorite tips for simple entertaining is to have a big batch cocktail, like a Moscato sangria on hand. One of our favorite sangria recipes to serve is Tropical Moscato Sangria. I love the summer flavors AND the fact that my friends can serve themselves! That way you aren’t stuck in the kitchen or bar making drinks and your friends are more likely to make themselves at home.Watermelon Sangria is another long-time summer cocktail favorite! I love that it’s filled with fresh watermelon, oranges, and limes! Those flavors just scream summer fun to me! It’s hard to find a person (other than my niece) that doesn’t like watermelon! Summer fruit takes the cocktail to the next level! I’m Having a Summer Party What Drinks Should I ServeSummer parties are so fun! There is no reason they need to be a lot of work! Keep it simple and you AND your guests will have a great time! These are our favorite Sangria Recipes to serve;Delicious Appetizers to Serve with Sangria RecipesIf you’re hosting a summer party and keeping the drinks simple with sangria, you definitely want to keep the food simple too! I love making appetizers that can be made the day before and just pulled out or popped into the oven right before my friends get there. Some of my favorite make-ahead appetizers are; Helpful Tools to Make this Watermelon Sangria RecipeGlass Pitcher– You want to find a pitcher that will show off the amazing color and fruit in your watermelon sangria and be big enough to hold all that delicious boozy fruit!Blender- I got my Ninja blender a few Christmases ago and LOVE it! I have been so happy with the sharpness of the blades and the size of the container! You’ll love it!Long Cocktail Stirring Spoon– I have these and LOVE them! You think, why would I need that, I can just use my wooden spoon. Then you go to stir your fruit-filled Sangria and realized the that you can’t get it down through all that fruit and if you do you spill all over the place! Trust me don’t go spilling your watermelon sangria and get these amazing spoons!Mesh Strainer– You don’t want to skip the mesh strainer if you can help it! It will make the texture of the watermelon sangria much better. Mesh strainers are great to have on hand for so many things in the kitchen, including a lot more summer cocktails! *Watermelon Sangria Recipe Original Post Date May 10, 2013* Watermelon Sangria RecipeWatermelon Sangria is one of my favorite sangria recipes for the summer! Homemade Dog Treats ⋆ Real Housemoms
Tumblr media
This post is sponsored by Mirum, all opinions expressed are my own Check out these easy homemade dog treats with whole wheat apple sauce and peanut butter! The best healthy treats to reward your favorite furry friend! If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll already know I have two pups who are my pride and joy (aside from the kids, of course). I consider their happiness and well being almost as much as I worry about my own kids, which is why I’m always looking at what I feed and give to them.I hated not knowing if any store-bought dog treats were actually okay for them to have on a regular basis, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I’m officially one of those dog moms who make homemade food for the dogs. With how simple and healthy these homemade dog treats are its a no brainer compared to feeding them the junk food dog treats from the store.HOMEMADE DOG TREATSLike this recipe? Pin it to your PUPPY pinboard!Follow Real Housemoms on Pinterest How To Make Homemade Dog TreatsLike I said before, this recipe is a breeze to get through. You’ll just need to combine all of your ingredients into one bowl and stir until combined. Once combined, use a rolling pin and roll out the dough onto a lightly floured flat surface until it’s about 1/2-inch thick.Using a bone shaped cookie dough cutter (or the shape of your choice) cut out desired shapes and place them onto a prepared baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake until the edges are golden brown.Let the treats cool completely.Place into an airtight container or sealable treat jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 months. These homemade peanut butter dog treats will also last up to 8 months in the freezer. Just be sure to let them thaw completely before feeding to any pups! Keeping Your Dogs Happy & HealthySince it’s been established now that my two Boston Terries (Sam and Ollie) live the good life, of course, that means they get to run to their hearts content outside and often go for runs in the woods, which they love! What I don’t love is how their time in the woods make them prime candidates for ticks and fleas. We’ve definitely been there done that a few too many times with carefully picking off ticks, and stocking up on flea treatment products after a good fun-filled summer day in the woods, so don’t feel bad if you have to too!Clearly, from my willingness to home bake their own homemade dog treats with pumpkin, I don’t want to make them sacrifice their happiness for the sake of their health. So, instead of depriving them of their love for the woods I started protecting them with PetArmor Plus, a vet quality formula that assists with killing fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, ticks, chewing lice. Make Tick and Flea Prevention Easy with PetArmor PlusI used to always forget flea and tick products because we aren’t at the vet that often, and would always run out before our next visit was due. Once I found out that PetArmor Plus is now sold at PetSmart, it was a no brainer! I can conveniently pick it up while I’m getting new toys and food for the pups, because who doesn’t love when errands can be made into a one-stop shop!?Now I can stop making unnecessary trips to the vet and start caring better for Sam and Ollie myself at home since PetArmor Plus is so easy to apply yourself. Applying PetArmor for DogsRemove product tubes from the package.Separate one tube from the others.Hold the tube with notched end pointing up and away from the face and body. Use scissors to cut off the narrow end at the notches along the line.Invert tube over dog and use open end to part your dog’s hair.Squeeze tube firmly to apply all of the solution to the dog’s skin as a spot to the dog’s back between the shoulder blades.Keep treated pets apart from each other, other pets and children for 24 hours after treatment and until the product is dry. This helps prevent pets from ingesting the topical by licking or grooming one another. Reward Your Pet With A Homemade Dog Treat! We all love our pets and want to keep them safe, but that safety might not always be fun for them, so my best advice for making treatment time less painful, is to end it on a sweet note by rewarding them with one of those freshly baked healthy homemade dog treats. Before you go out and get your own PetArmor Plus don’t forget to snag this $5 off coupon for PetArmor Plus for Dogs or Cats, 3ct valid March-September 2019 with this PetSmart-specific Ibotta offer! This post is sponsored by Mirum. The opinions and text are all mine.Don’t let summer fly by without doing anything exciting. This FREE printable summer bucket list will have you making sweet memories all season long! Summer can go one of two ways, it’s either spent slowly losing your sanity with nothing to do but count the days until everyone is back at school and not screaming “I’m bored” every two minutes, or it’s spent with every week having a new an exciting activity to look forward to making great memories along the way. This year I’m breaking out the summer bucket list so we make sure to do everything we love before our oldest starts high school. While summer is all about relaxing, it’s also about making the most of the extra time you have with family. Classic Homemade Lemonade is the epitome of summer! Sweet, tart, and refreshing, it’s perfect for lounging with friends on the porch, and backyard BBQs!Summer isn’t summer without a big pitcher of the best homemade lemonade in your fridge at all times. Made with only three ingredients – this classic lemonade is so refreshing! At this moment we’re packing up our home to move to Canada. Packing and moving boxes is an exhausting job. Making a large batch of lemonade was the best thing I did for us. Even though it’s not too hot outside yet, all the hard work makes us pretty tired, and the lemonade is just so refreshing,  it recharges our batteries right away. For later I plan on making my favorite Mint Julep Lemonade, this is an adult beverage but it will be just what we need after a long day!HOMEMADE LEMONADELike this recipe? However, if I don’t have space in my fridge, I put together the lemon syrup and keep it in a smaller container so I can make lemonade whenever I want by diluting the syrup with water. I also prefer to add some lemon zest into my syrup to enhance the lemon flavor! But don’t worry the lemon zest is strained out of the syrup after it has been made. Adding that zest adds more lemony goodness, so make sure not to skip that step!In the recipe, I have recommended up to 8 cups of chilled water, to mix with this lemon syrup. The outcome will be a delicious lemonade that is sweet and tart, with a balanced lemon flavor. Although, if you’re like me, and you like lemonade extra strong – then I would only add about 6 cups of chilled water. How to make the lemon syrup I like to add the lemon syrup in two different steps. First, half of the lemon juice is cooked with the sugar to make a lemon syrup. Once this lemon syrup cools down, the rest of the lemon juice is added. I do this because I like the freshness of fresh lemon juice and the concentrated flavor of lemon syrup in my lemonade. Here’s another trick to making sure you get ALL the juice from the lemons you use. Roll the lemon on a counter with a little pressure this will help release the lemon juice also making it easier to squeeze! How to dilute the lemon syrup for the lemonadeThe easiest way is to mix the lemon syrup with about 6 cups of chilled water first, and then add more water as necessary until you’re happy with the taste of your lemonade. You can also add ice to this lemonade too! Just keep in mind that as the ice melts in your pitcher, the lemonade will become more diluted. You can adjust the water level, or add more lemon syrup to compensate for the melting ice. Mix your lemon syrup with some rose syrup, to have a floral-infused rose lemonade!Add some lavender to the lemon syrup or some herbs, like thyme, or even a small amount of rosemary. Serve the lemonade with all natural color changing ice, to make a phenomenal, and magical Galaxy Lemonade that CHANGES COLOR when you add the lemon syrup! It’s a hit at children’s parties. For more lemon recipes like this homemade lemonadeTools used to make this Classic Lemonade recipeLemon Juicer –  Makes it much easier to juice the lemons. Lemon zester –  Zest is an essential ingredient in making this classic lemonade. There’s nothing I love more with brunch than a mimosa and these pops are perfect with champagne! I fill up a glass, add an ice pop stick side up, and let it melt into my drink. It’s completely delicious and the presentation is fun so I get to feel all fancy. Happy Mother’s Day to me!What are Ice Pops?Ice pops are a frozen snack on a stick. Usually, they are milk or water-based. The liquid is poured into an ice pop mold with a stick is inserted in the middle or into an ice pop bag and then frozen. There are so many flavor options out there, but I love using fruit juice for our pops. Florida Orange Juice is my favorite ice pop starter. It tastes great, is packed with Vitamin C, Folate, Potassium, and there’s no added sugar! That’s what I call a nutritional benefit win. These homemade ice pops are also a great way to help our family get their recommended daily fruit intake of 8 ounces for adults and 4 to 6 ounces for kids. While Florida Orange Juice is fantastic by itself, I like to sweeten this ice pop recipe just a touch with some pineapple juice. The fruit juice combination works perfectly with fresh summer berries. How to Make Ice PopsRinse and chop fruit. Place in ice pops molds or ice pop bags.Mix together Florida Orange Juice and pineapple juice. Pour over fruit until molds are full.Insert handles or sticks and freeze for at least 6 hours or until set.Remove from the ice pop mold and enjoy! When my kids were younger I’d help them by chopping the fruit and pouring in the juice. They would fill the molds with fruit and stir the juices together. These days, they whip up a batch of Florida Orange Juice Ice Pops all on their own. All I have to do is tell them how delicious I think they are. Florida Orange Juice has provided a nutritional foundation for my family for years and will continue to do so for years to come.My family loves the taste and color contrast of red berries like strawberries and raspberries in our Orange Ice Pops, but sometimes we mix things up. These are some of our favorite fruits to add to our 100% orange juice pops.Ice Pop Fruit Add-InsstrawberriesraspberriespeacheskiwiblackberriesapplespineappleWhether you’re relaxing on to porch during the summer, or spending time with mom for Mother’s Day, these homemade ice pops are the perfect snack for any occasion! Can’t get enough fruity goodness? Post sponsored by Mirum.  All opinions are 100% my own.Your kids will think you’re extra cool when you learn How To Create Fun Mealtime Memories! Whether they’re 2 or 12, these meals will become a fond memory!I am Mom to two very opinionated, very carnivorous boys. It seems like no matter the time of day, they are always hungry and they never seem to want what I am snacking on. That is why I am so glad I have Yummy Dino Buddies on hand to tame the hunger beast. With easy mealtime options and fun dinner ideas, you’ll know How To Create Fun Meal Time Memories with your kids they’ll treasure for years to come.HOW TO CREAT FUN MEALTIME MEMORIESLike these tips? Pin them to your DINNER pinboard!Follow Real Housemoms on Pinterest Ever since I can remember, I have always kept a steady supply of Yummy Dino Buddies on hand in my freezer. When my boys were smaller, they were picky eaters. Some picky eaters will at least take a bite of new foods before deciding they are not a fan. Not my boys. They kept their mouths on lockdown at the very sight of any new foods. It was challenging feeding my little guys. Sometimes they would decide that they no longer liked a food that they used to eat without any issues. Luckily, I discovered one food they always gladly came to the table for, Yummy Dino Buddies.I always feel good about feeding my boys Yummy Dino Buddies because they are made with boneless, skinless, white chicken breast meat and are packed with protein and Omega-3. My boys absolutely love eating Dinosaur-Shaped Chicken Breast Nuggets and I have a lot of fun plating their meals. As an adult, you do not get a lot of opportunities to play with your food, so I take advantage of every chance that I get. I would use broccoli and carrot sticks for dino-sized trees and vegetation and my kids would even get creative with the ketchup squeeze bottle to draw a prehistoric background before strategically placing the Yummy Dino Buddies into their new habitat. My Picky-saurus’ always eat it up, literally. As my boys got older, they used to ask for the Yummy Dino Buddies on a blank canvas and they would compete to see who could create the most picturesque Dino scene. Judging the competition and selecting a winner was always difficult, but watching them lick their plates clean after was always worth it. Even now that my oldest is a teenager, he still loves Yummy Dino Buddies and always asks for their Maple Waffle Chicken Breast Nuggets which are so good that I usually make a couple extra for me.When you have a to-do list the size of a dinosaur, you deserve a convenient, high quality, healthy option to serve your children that can go from the freezer to the kitchen table in minutes. I love watching them rush to the table for lunch and knowing that they will leave satisfied and happy. Every time I stroll down the freezer aisle of my local Fry’s I make sure to stock up on #yummydinobuddies and you can find your local retailer by visiting the Yummy Dino Buddies store locator so you and your kids can have fun and #playwithyourfood too! Mint Julep ⋆ Real Housemoms

Grab your best bottle of bourbon, some fresh mint, and whip up a tasty Mint Julep! Served at Kentucky Derby parties, but equally refreshing all year long!Springtime brings with it all kinds of happy feelings, doesn’t it? The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and the brunch crowd is back it.  While it may not scream summer to you the way a Mint Mojito does, this Mint Juelp is definitely a refreshing sip on a warm day! Made with only 3 ingredients – 4 if you count ice – it’s a simple 18th-century creation that is most often enjoyed during the Kentucky Derby, a horse race and the first leg of the American Triple Crown.MINT JULEPLike this recipe? Pin it to your DRINK pinboard!Follow Real Housemoms on PinterestDid you know Mint Juleps were actually originated long before the first Kentucky Derby but still got their start in the South? In the 1700s, it was actually prescribed to people with sour stomachs as a type of relief, thanks to the mint! I feel like their recipe for mint juleps may have been slightly different than the modern one we drink today. But the Southerners have it right with this cocktail and my favorite Spiked Mango Iced Tea! The julep is loosely related to a family of drinks called “smashes” (other examples are the brandy smash, the mojito, and whiskey versions like my Blackberry Peach Bourbon Smash), in which fresh mint and other ingredients are muddled or crushed to flavor the drink. In the early days of the Derby, the mint julep was a cocktail exclusive to the wealthy. Ice is one of the main ingredients in the drink and was hard to come by before the 20th century. Juleps are also traditionally served in a silver cup – an uncommon possession to most. Luckily, now you don’t have to have a fat bank account to enjoy these strong drinks! What is in a Mint Julep? There are only 4 simple mint julep ingredients:Bourbon WhiskeyFresh Mint LeavesSugar (either simple syrup, agave, or maple syrup)Crushed IceHow To Make A Mint JulepFirst, place mint leaves and simple syrup (or powdered or granulated sugar, agave, honey, etc.) in a julep cup or highball glass. Muddle the leaves gently to release the mint oils.Next, add the bourbon and fill the cup almost to the top with crushed ice. Stir briskly with a cocktail spoon until the glass is cold and frosty. Finally, top the cup with a dome of crushed ice. Garnish each drink with a sprig of mint and a lemon peel or wedge. What Are Some Other Twists On A Mint Julep recipe?Making your own custom mint julep is so easy – they’re such a simple, basic drink, that any flavor you add to it will be delicious!Strawberry Mint Julep – Muddle some fresh strawberries with your mint, then mix away for a pretty pink drink!Mint Julep Iced Tea – Wanna give some substance to your cocktail? Cut the amount of bourbon in half and stir in a cup of black tea. You’ll be able to sip them all day!Vanilla Bean Mint Julep – Add a bit of vanilla extract or the scrapings on a vanilla bean to your cocktail for a smooth, almost dessert-like drink.Champagne Julep – If you’re craving something a little fancier for your Derby drinkin’, splash a bit of your favorite champagne in. It mellows out the bourbon a bit, in case you’re not a huge fan of the strong whiskey flavor.Whiskey lovers will adore these recipes!Tools used to make this Mint Julep recipeJigger: Every home bartender should have a jigger for measuring their cocktail ingredients. This one has a no-slip grip and is marked with increment measuring lines so you can make the perfect cocktail every time.Muddler: This classic bar tool is a must-have for incorporating fresh ingredients into your drinks. This muddler also comes with a bar spoon for stirring your cocktail to perfection.Julep Cup: Serve your Derby drinks in style with this traditional cup!Cocktail Spoon: When you want your drinks stirred, not shaken, reach for this cocktail spoon!
