bonus facts about kris that I never touch on in the bio nor are they immediately relevant, but are Fun Facts(TM). 1. Kris' mother is a doctor who works at a minor hospital in Cherrygrove. She went to school in Kanto and lived there for a brief time before moving back home to Johto after Kris was born because money. 2. Kris has never met her dad and really has no interest in it. He kind of dashed after he got his gf knocked up. Real stand up guy, that one was. 3. Kris is half Galarian.

despite having relatively little interest in the battle part of the league, Kris does still have her old gym badges displayed in her lab, along with her original pokédex. All 15 of them (she never did go back for Viridian...) The pokédex is pretty dinged up, but it holds a lot of sentimental value for her.

part of the purge I did yesterday means that nobody knows what I'm referring to when I say this but in the past I've stated that Kris isn't terribly computer science-literate but I don't think that's true any longer. Granted, she's no programmer, but she's studied up on a fair bit and has probably some above-average knowledge on data decryption, computer processes, and the like. She's more interested in the mathematic side of it than anything, but it's definitely a rung or two above average. If you ask her to fix your computer she will break your arms though.

"The question feels a little too philosophical for me, if I'm being honest." Or maybe she's too prone to overthinking. One could argue very little, given the number of routes she had available to reach where she is now.

"A fair amount, I guess? Getting here was challenging. I could have given up at a lot of points, or taken longer to reach this position, but I opted for this track. That counts for something."

23.) At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive?

"The day I opened my own lab in Goldenrod!" Her eyes go bright at the memory. For all the burdens of being Johto's professor, it was nevertheless an ambition she'd spent most of her life working towards.

"It felt like all my work over the years was finally paying off. It was a bit sad to finally leave the New Bark Lab, but establishing my own was a whole new world of possibility. I chose a great location, too. With the daycare and the gym so close by, I have an easier time adopting out pokémon to trainers and finding ones to raise for research purposes. And being in the city certainly has its conveniences."
