Different Beliefs Of Sawan :-
1. The importance of Shravan (Sawan Ka Mahatva) is considered highly in the scriptures because Savan is the most beloved month of Lord Shiva. The belief behind this is that Mata Sati, the daughter of Daksha, gave up her life and lived a cursed life for many years, after that she was born as Parvati in the house of Himalaya Raj. Parvati performed severe penance in the entire month of Shravan to get Lord Shiva as her husband, due to which Lord Shiva fulfilled her wish, due to which Lord Shiva was reunited with his wife. This is the reason why this month the virgin girl prays to Shiva for a good groom.

According to the religious belief of Sawan, there was a churning of the ocean in the month of Shravan, in which Lord Shiva took the Halahal poison that came out, due to which he got the name of Neel Kanth and thus he saved Shrishti from this poison and all the gods poured water on him. That is why water has a special place in Shiva Abhishek.
4. In the fourth season of the rainy season, Lord Vishnu goes into yoga nidra and at this time the whole universe becomes under the control of Lord Shiva. Therefore, to please Lord Shiva in Chaumasa, human beings do many types of religious work, charity, fasting.
