How can there possibly be a CP problem on a site as banhappy as Tumblr? I’ve never encountered it myself, so I’m skeptical to believe such claims. Though, I don’t exactly go looking for that filth.

I’ve reblogged some posts regarding it, but I can’t find them all. the one I do remember is one about a blog called christinalein, which will shows up a decent way into the /tagged/maid section of tumblr (link there) which has a lot of questionably-aged girls doing sexy poses in adult dresses (no nudity, if it’s perverted it’s definitely softcore or lighter) and like you mentioned, I don’t look for that so I don’t see it. But I’ve seen screenshots of discussions in the notes of some posts about liking children in a sexual way. Also, the pedophile community may’ve been alerted that they’ve been discovered by the general userbase, so maybe they’ve gone into hiding and are on the downlow.

Just remember, tumblr doesn’t vet its content at all. This is great for freedom of expression (although being banhappy AFTER things are done is at odds with that) and they don’t have any obvious algorithms for finding bannable offenses (otherwise it’d have a banning controversy on par with the demonetization shitstorm on Youtube). I doubt tumblr execs or moderators are using their own website to browse CP, and just like us they don’t seek it so they don’t see it.

The only way to get that shit out of here is to find it and report it. Thing is, I’m no e-sleuth so I can’t prove if christinalein is just some weirdo who likes to toe the line of what’s legal with suggestive children or someone involved in CP or human trafficking, and I can’t say for sure if their content technically counts as porn (although I would say my sensibilities certainly say so).

but I’m just a conspiracy memer, don’t take my word for it. If you can find any leads and you wanna make a difference with this, follow the trail - just make sure you have a note saying that if you die in a couple weeks you didn’t commit suicide.
