the bright summer heat beams down from the sky over the sunny beach resort in shimoda. it's always hot this time of the year, just as it had been the few years prior they've visited the villa, denji recalls to himself. he yawns pitifully, having been asleep for majority of the car ride before being ushered to grab their bags from the rental car by aki. out steps the rest of the comodarie, consisting of aki and new partner, angel, power, nayuta and reze. green eyes fall on his face, lips turned upwards as she follows her friend to the trunk to grab her things. denji's eyes don't linger on her for long, as the last passenger exits from the van.

denji felt his skin getting hot for a different reason now, eyes scanning the expanse of yoshida's neck available to him. he oogles at the prominent marks left there; distinct teeth marks a reminder of their previous night and along the ride there. he's not embarrassed at all about them being paraded at all, but the looks from his family and reze were sure... interesting to say the least. denji moves to grab his suitcase and duffle from under after the girls had gotten theirs and was making their way into the villa first. denji and nayuta linger for yoshida to grab his things, leaving aki with angel to secure the car and grab their items last.

“you really don't have any shame, do ya,” denji asks yoshida looking at the marks, eyes following his sister once nayuta was a bit ahead of them. “sorry for drooling on yer shoulder. there's a washing machine inside if ya wanna use it.” denji steps into the villa first a view of the beach just beyond the windows. power and nayuta already had control over the couch and tv, while reze seemed to be in the kitchen getting water. aki and angel come in moments later, the older of them sighing.

denji grabs his things, walking towards the back of the house and up the stairs. “i'm gonna go pick my room. aki, can we have the same rooms as last year,” he asks. it was one of the few rooms with a double bed, the master bedroom having a queen, and the other two rooms having a twin beds. aki gives him a look, then shrugs, following after with angel and their luggage in tow. “if you're sharing with yoshida, i don't care.”

"where do you want me and nayuta to go with you ?" ( modern au )

nayuta enjoyed her outings with denji and yoshida. with her fierce attachment to denji, and her agreement to share him with the other male, she slowly began accompanying them on weekend outings instead of being forced to play with the dumb neighborhood kids. right now she gazed at the sky and over the heads of almost everyone they walked past. being tall was amazing, she thought to herself, and hoped her genes would be on her side and give her a 180cm height too.

nayuta had her seat secured on yoshida's shoulders, absolutely thrilled to be sitting higher than when she would ride on denji's shoulders. feeling like she could do some real world domination if she were this height. she leans over to yoshida, eyes sparkling with child-like mischief, “we should buy a long trench coat! then we can trick people into letting me get on the bigger rides at amusement parks.” comes her suggestion. after all, trickery is one of the stepping stones to being the ultimate ruler.

beside the duo, denji could only shake his head, wondering when his little sister switched from wanting to be a dog trainer to world domination. his hand is securely in yoshinda's own, officially coupling them together and leaving no room or idea for anything else. denji would blush at the thought if he weren't already used to it now. “what did'ja get into her head now..?” denji mumbles, attempting not to be amused at nayuta's playfulness. she must be having fun sitting on yoshida's shoulders.

to yoshida's question, he grins; because he has held himself back from going alone or taking nayuta with him for a day like this. “there is a new attraction i heard everyone talkin' about at school. i dunno if ya heard people talkin' about it, but they got squirrels ridin' on toy boats at the mall. it sounded funny as shit shi- er... as something, so i wanted ta go 'n see.” hopefully yoshida didn't find his idea of fun too childish, but the other never gave him a reason to think so before. nayuta seemed to perk up at this, laughing hysterically. “squirrels on toy boats? that sounds so goofy; we gotta go 'n see!”

"we could go out, it'd be my treat."

back aches from the weight of maeda in class #3 ... at only 10 yen to abuse a human chair for an entire minute, it's no surprise that denji's clientele is comprised of the entirety of the school's wrestling club, eager to test the sturdiness of his constitution, to push the limits of his resolve. humans are bastards like that, he knows now. not far off from the devils he's torn through.

he'd won out, of course. coin pouch clinks noisily with each step, an easy haul from a long day of work. after this, it's rerolling cigarettes to pawn off until he's scraped together enough for a meal. hard work ( beyond it, immoral ) but rewarding nonetheless. he's been brought into a life of immorality, forced into it, held at gunpoint. regard for the rules died with his father. the school would rather he and nayuta starve than get a part time job at the mcdonalds across the way ... better to be sat on than to return to a life with the rats.

yoshida is regarded with suspicion first: a learned reaction as much as it is something innate. strange is his classmate, deserving of this reservation by his own admission. still, a meal on another's coin is a blessing no matter who it comes from.

“ fine, ” comes snapping answer, the dog of chainsaw man poorly restrained. he'll bite the hand which feeds him if he so chooses ... they both know denji's strong point isn't his head. “ let's go to that cafe place. 'm gonna order all the desserts they have. cake, cookies, bread, all of it. ” he knows no shame.

a twinge of mild discontent was felt at the added suffix , how tiresome ❛  just fami   ❜ tone firm , insistent as eyes slowly lifting from the menu resting in her hands.

maybe she should have ordered more , it was summer still perhaps something cooling would be ideal.

Nayuta hadn't been aware of this until recently, but Denji has been carrying a new scent around him. It's not like Nayuta, the inquisitive child she's grown up to be, was purposefully sniffing her older brother's clothing. She just has a better than average sense of smell. Times when she's spent hours in front of the TV with Denj she would catch that wiff, and ponder about it. It didn't smell like a woman, but it was still a delicate scent nonetheless, and for it to be lingering this long on him, this person has to be rather fond of her Denji.

Emphasis on HER Denji; and that just wasn't going to do.

So imagine her surprise when Denji brings her to the source of the smell. A young man, tall, casually dressed for an outing; a perpetual on his face. Denji introduced him as 'Yoshida'. Nayuta felt something was a little odd with this man. He treated her Denji far too friendly, offering to compensate their whole meal, hers included. Even when she asked for a rather pricey dessert, the man let her without complaint. It was interesting... Everything about him was strange and odd. Nayuta wanted to get to the bottom of it.

Wasting no time, the moment Denji was out of earshot, Nayuta made her suspicions known. "You're too nice to my Denji," Nayuta accuses, because no one is just nice to Denji. She's aware of that. Nayuta shoves a spoonful of rice pudding in her mouth. "You stare at him strange, and your smile is weird. What do you want with him? I won't let you have him, you know."

"denji-kun." he replies softly, beckoning for his boyfriend to come over. "i have lunch ready for us." it a weekend meaning that college was no longer in session & he could relax with the blonde. today, he had made them cheese katsudon with rice & the sauce that compliments it. there would be plenty of leftovers considering denji's appetite, but he wanted to do something nice since the other maintained most of the apartment so he could focus on studying. "before you make a fuss, it's just a thank you for keeping up with the chores." this time he presses a kiss to his cheek hoping he would enjoy the gesture. ( modern, college timeline )

denji looks forward to the weekends. weekends means there's no school, however this reason is moot for him since he has graduated high school with no aspirations to attend the stressful college life. he would have to thank his boyfriend and his efforts for being a tutor for him, raising his grades and giving him just enough credits to make it out of there. needless to say, it was something of a miracle he passed, but it was also duo effort on his part too. needless to say, this team work carries over now to the boys living together.

he came to live with yoshida thinking that he had nothing to offer his boyfriend besides a warm bed to crawl into after college classes had ended. very quickly did denji establish a small routine for himself to take care of all household chores and make fresh lunch, or meal prep for the week. though he did not attend college himself, he does join yoshida for lunch often at his school. four to five days of the week denji was content with playing home maker, but it's the weekend. the remaining two days where yoshida takes note of all of denji's efforts and spoils him silly by cooking for him or simply lathering on all the built up affection he couldn't properly show him.

his head swivels from the tv program he was fixated on to his lovers call. obedient, and spurred on by the enticing smell of food, denji makes his way over to yoshida. he swears yoshida is just naturally good at everything done by hand; the cheese katsudon looks good. he grunts with mild annoyance, because as much as he likes to be spoiled, he likes to contribute even more now since he's basically staying with him for free.

he won't admit how easily placiated he was by the simple gesture. “a thank you gift for me,” he murmurs taking it in. he is still awkward when it comes to acts of kindness. his lips jut out softly, “just tryin' ta make it easier on ya since i'm kinda moochin' off ya... and ta makeup for all the dates you paid for, and lunches ya brought me.” he smiles at the end fondly, a sense of nostalgia wash over him like a gentle wave. he grabs his bowl, leans up on the tips of his toes to press a kiss to his boyfriends lips. he really likes kissing yoshida, and he tastes of the katsudon he samples to make sure everything is good. “thanks, hirofumi... erm, do ya wanna eat in front of the tv?”

the whole world outside of the temple seems to have become rather chaotic, chainsawman this and chainsawman that. It was something that has become almost a disease in how annoying everything has become. Ryuji is not one to look away from it, but he has no desire to fester in that filth.

The police tape and various not police people on the scene meant something horrible had happened, or something destructive since some trees looked toppled over. He was wearing his true cross uniform to look professional.
