#quotes #dostoevsky #I hadn't reread this since college but I decided to go back to it since it was the only book from that class I remembered vaguely liking #although to be fair I might have been able to get into demons/brothers karamazov if I was reading at my own pace and not for class #those assigned readings were GRUELING especially because I was having vision issues at the time #but even with that in mind the idiot made a decent impression and I do like it now #although I cannot for the life of me figure out why everyone insists that aglaya is SOOOO good and pure #like sure she hasn't done anything to disgrace herself in the eyes of society but. she's really selfish and annoying #so is nastasya fillipovna (who is WAY worse) but at least she's interesting enough to make up for it #aglaya is just kind of a brat
