In honor of Toontown Corporate Clash having a pride event (that I tried to attend but my computer noped out) and of my sudden, (probably) fleeting desire to do a pacer test, here's a relevant sneak peek of a High Roller fic I'm writing - and it's a crossover with another game I like!
(...)
Before any of the contestants could say anything else, High Roller took center stage once more.
“And now, as a tribute to our musically-talented contestants, please give it up for our special musical guests! Starting with one of the top Sellbots in the company for the last couple fiscal years…” He tilted his hat down slightly for dramatic effect. “Put your hands together for the Twenty-Meter Titan, the Dervish of Dreamland, the Whirlwind with the Winning Smile, the Baron of the Beep–”
Just then, the cog with the sunglasses and cool hairstyle rushed the stage and snatched the microphone.
“Thank you! Thank you! It’s great to be here tonight! I know I’m the most beautiful suit around, so you don’t have to tell me - but if you want to tell me, I’ve got no complaints!”
For a second, everyone else, High Roller included, stared in perplexed silence. Finally, High Roller took back the microphone, speaking a little more quickly than before.
“Graham Ness Payser, the Pacesetter!”
As the audience applauded, High Roller leaned in close to Graham. “Babe, you were supposed to wait until after I was done introducing you…”
“Pfff! You’re asking me to wait? Next I suppose you’re gonna ask Cathal to run a mile!” Graham flipped his hair. “Besides, you were taking too long.”
