Late night thoughts before going to sneep here, but it just crossed my mind that Dain may resonate with Wanderer's sense of otherness as he did with Ganyu when he let on that he understands her feeling of being surrounded by people but alone at the same time. While Dain does not lack a heart as far as we know so far, I'm one to think that he understands the feeling of being something that most of the people are, but at the same time not. In my portrayal specifically, I touch sometimes on his identity struggles because he thinks of himself a monster which is cursed by the gods and corrupted at that and that he's a celestial envoy— which leads to the question what am I exactly.

𝐋𝐗𝐗𝐈𝐕. Analysis of Nahida's miscellany: knowledge of everyone's power (in particular, the awareness that Nahida can read minds), objectivity in speech regarding gods and wisdom of everything.
I've been watching Nahida's miscellany again for some reason even I don't know myself, but here are a few reactions of mine to some of the things Dain say because... well.
[About Nahida's elemental skill] ❝In some scenarios, it may also have other uses...❞
Says the man as there are some random NPCs in Sumeru City. You don't joke with a man who knows that a god can read people's thoughts even though this is technically a secret and something that Nahida doesn't use much out of respect to people.
❝Humans often place gods on a pedestal, awestruck by their unfathomable power. Very few ever come to the realization that gods are not the rulers of Teyvat but merely another form of living being in this world. A god who lacks strength may have little to no advantage even over mere mortals.❞
People tend to focus on the apparent spite Dain has for the gods (I bet it's specially because of the We Will Be Reunited quest from 1.4), but I haven't seen anyone mentioning yet that pettiness or not, there is a reason why he said that there's nothing special about gods anyway if we keep into account that the Archons at least need of humans in order to power themselves up, and that in this world, celestial being or not there is need of humans in order to achieve great things as we've seen in 2.6 with Xiao and Yelan to get out of the mess that was the bed of the Chasm. It's no surprise if we remember the Travail trailer that Dain believes in the human potential in this world and not without reason from what arguably little we've seen thus far. Something I've learned from Dain is that he seems to say things in halves or in quarters only to find out the meaning of what he says some versions later as the story advances.
❝As for the significance of Irminsul to the whole of Teyvat... I will leave that to those who are not under this world's control to discover themselves.❞
This shouldn't come as a surprise either because Dain is tied to Irminsul, but this here? We have Nahida who also is and for being under the world's control, she's subjected to suffer the consequences of whatever happens to Irminsul. But this here does rise some flags to me in the sense that it might even tease that Dain knows exactly everything —otherwise I highly doubt that he'd know there is more to it than what those who are subjected to this world's rules know, gods or not— regarding this and that would imply certain things that I do hypothetize, but that I'll stay on the silent side until we see him again or we see something that can confirm it or deny it. Said thing would be the potential that he could be one of the Descenders.
