#thank goodness i don't have to bake for another 730 days

Two years ago today, I baked a cake for Star Wars day. It was lemon, 💫's favourite flavour. Didn't turn out super well, but I never claimed to be a professional baker. I wanted to share it with 💫 more than anything, I recall being pretty upset that I couldn't.

This year, I baked another cake. It's lemon too. I added orange juice, and despite 💫's skepticism it turned out fantastic. It doesn't look pretty (he says it does,) but it does look slightly better than the OG.

Two days from today will be the two year anniversary of when 💫 and I became a couple. We'll take the last two* pieces of that cake and eat them in my backyard with some strong tea; just like we did two years ago on our first date.

This post is far from eloquent, but I'm sentimental tonight. I only wish that my younger self knew how happy I would be.

I love you, 💫, even when you poke your finger into the icing to have a taste. <3

*I'm going to put some in the freezer for other family members lol.
