Göteborg keep Swedish Women's Cup

Göteborg FC retained the Swedish Women's Cup by defeating the side that has beaten them to next season's UEFA Women's Champions League, Tyresö FF, 2-1 in extra time.

Tyresö have ensured a UEFA competition debut for 2013/14 by clinching a top-two league finish alongside leaders WFC Malmö, but were behind after nine minutes when Göteborg's United States forward Christen Press picked up the ball inside the opposition half, got past left-back Karin Lissel and struck an unstoppable low shot into the far corner. Tyresö eventually shrugged off the early shock and started to assert themselves, Marta's shot from close range brilliantly kept out by the stretching leg of Kristin Hammarström.

The second half brought more Tyresö pressure and in the 66th minute Marta got the equaliser, assisted by Caroline Seger. The 1-1 scoreline stood until the final whistle and also after the first 15 minutes of extra time, but when Press went down following a challenge from Elaine, Sjöberg took full advantage of the ensuing penalty.
