It's interesting for me to think of what Seska's background could have been. It's interesting that this cunning spy should be so drawn to Chakotay. A twisted person kind of desperately clawing after something. Of course the desire doesn't express itself in any way approaching healthy.

And it's interesting that she winds up in a society where she has to play submissive, although no doubt she would have ended up murdering Cullah and ruling the Kazon through her son.

#medieval power games #they always wrote seska as smart #but then shackled her to these backward guys #but then i don't know who else she could have manipulated so well and thus continued to be a major character #it would have required coming up with a whole new race and mythology just to have a recurring villain #but one might argue that would have been worth it #hard to say when it doesn't exist #it definitely would have consumed more of early voyager #the kazon were bogged down by the 'gangs are dumb' message imho #i mean okay have your one episode to say gangs are dumb but then open up the imagination to dramatic possibilities and forget LA problems #in short i think chakotay somewhat represents a version of her life that she never knew she wanted #that she's incapable of fully realizing #and it's all twisted
