so the idea was that it’s a college au! the reader is taking a journalism course, and for their final assignment, they have to do an op-ed on another student. so there’s the internal panic of what the hell do i write about…and robin playfully suggests “hey! you know who’d be perfect!” and he would because he’d gotten so many scholarship offers, he’s arguably the best player in all of indiana, and there’s already history there! nothing can go wrong…right 👀 and reader is all out of options so he’s really the best bet

think disney’s “geek charming” but with a little more romantic tension. im thinking he’s super closed off after the breakup and he’s kind of coming off as an arrogant asshole at first. and then they get to know each other again and it’s all just beautiful second chance romance 🤭

la la land inspired………….very vaguely tho. i just liked the idea of steve’s parents signing him up for everything under the sun so that they can brag about how they’re such amazing parents lol! one of which being the piano, which he’s more than decent at. and so basically after looking at various newspaper ads, he ends up working in a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, playing the piano and ur the waitress that he has a huge crush on
