Animal drawing dump

Another collection of animal drawings.

I’m learning a lot of new things :0 I haven’t really done much anatomy study (I should). Instead I just spend every free time I have observing them. (10 minutes before and after bed. They are my new therapy) Anyhow, here are some doodles, and images from videos after the cut:

Nene the gorilla. She’s in her 50s (= 80s in human years) tried to simplify her shape in the first image.

The consequences of my poor financial decisions are here!!

#blame Kat for this lmao. she got the Yangchen novels first and I very easily give in to peer pressure (that wasn't exerted. but whatever)#three days earlier than scheduled too. which worked out perfectly bc I picked them up on the way home from grandma's #and carried them for 2 km. 2 hardcover books + the thick cardboard boxset they're in #+ the backpack full of food my grandma gave me #in the rain #I nearly fucking died #I'm not made for this level of physical exercise 😅#okay moving on #nia stop calling things like this poor financial decisions challenge #it cost like. the equivalent of 40 bucks #I have 30 times as much hidden away in my sock drawer #and I am usually responsible with my spending. I'm allowed a slightly more expensive treat every once in a while #also my dad doesn't know but I'm sure if I would him 'hey I spent 3.8k on a pair of books is that okay'#he'd be like 'why tf are you asking when have I ever said no to you spending money'#but again. I do try to be mindful #which is why as much as I want the lok art books and could probably ask for money for them. I won't #bc they cost an arm and a leg and I cannot morally allow myself to spend that kind of money #anyway. getting distracted again #do you know how hard it was to get these? I checked like 3 marketplaces before I did #and I was fully ready to get them in russian because non-classical english books are impossible to come by here #sanctions and all that. but somehow I did. and it only cost half the money in my bank account #I don't even know if Russian editions exist. these books were written before the war and before the gay propaganda ban but still #I didn't find them when I looked. maybe they don't sell them now that the law is in place or smth #I don't really care enough to look it up #the point is. I now own the books and can happily read about best girl kyoshi whenever I want #if the stress for an upcoming event doesn't kill me. that is #also I have read rok before but it was 3 years ago so my memory is vague. and I just realised how much thinner sok is?#I'll have to check the page count later

I name all of my snake plants after Baltimore Orioles players because...I don't know why I do that.....anyway Adley (she/her pronouns according to my parents) and Adam Jones are making the trip with me but Chris Davis is TOO BIG FOR THE CAR and I'm so sad now. That was my emotional support snake plant through my FMLA leave. He has seen the worst of me (mental illness, forgot to water him for a month) and survived. Now he's like four feet tall and I have to leave him behind because he is so big that he takes up more than a third of my luggage space in the car 🥲 I took such good care of him that now he has to live independent of me. Goodbye Chris Davis I will think of you fondly as I encourage Adley to grow big and strong.

4: Fred based off of an image of Keith Jennings from The Omen (1976). I made it canon that whenever Frederick gets super flustered, he pushes his head into his hair. He's already my favorite character from the story and this made me love him even more

5: Another Fred based off of an image of Mike Nelson from an episode of MST3K (not sure which one though)

6: Wolfgang based off of a still from the movie The Seagull (1968). I found the picture last night and I thought it had his vibes

Alongside devving my OC stuff, I'm happy to announce that I finally have another little passion project to add into the mix!

a fun little AU called...

SONIC AND THE HIGH ORDER!

A story about the titular hedgehog saving the last living city of an alternate dimension, from the hands of a systemic evil! All while forming bonds with characters very closely resembling his friends :D

Alongside Tall Tail, I hope to turn this into something special one day, for now though, art and concepts of it will be made for pure fun

This is "The Doctor", a resident of the nightmare realm, who has been there long enough to have been almost completely corrupted. His face is normally just a pitch black void hole but sometimes you can see eyes and/or teeth in there

He wants to help people, but he's almost completely lost his mind, and can sometimes act a bit... Feral.

Surprisingly, the nightmare realm's usual effect of making people lose every memory of their life before they ended up here, hasn't managed to take away his medical knowledge. He's still very smart, despite everything.

Unfortunately he seems to scare off most people who he would otherwise have helped...

He's kidnapped me several times (LMAO ok there's context but I'd have to write a damn novel to explain that)#Oh and the nightmare realm isn't the world in my mind. Well it's a dimension in a multiverse I travel in there #But uhhhhh I spend basically all my time in the nightmare realm now bcause I like the vibes #But before that... I just spent time with various video game characters #Asriel from undertale became a scientist that created dimensional portals. And we kinda found the nightmare realm on accident #We don't talk much anymore but y'know. Every once in a while I'll visit #Last time though he had been forced into working for an evil agency that was trying to harness my demi-god like powers #Because in the universe in my mind I'm a shape-shifting horror that cannot truly die (I respawn)#I actually nerfed my own powers in-universe because I hadn't been to responsible with them in the past #Well I gave the ability to regulate my powers to a sort of evil-ish counterpart of myself (void)#And then we made a deal to cut eachother's power down to a reasonable level #And now neither of us can re-acquire that dangerous level of power #Uhhh. Isn't that kinda how the things in harry potter work? A vessel with a chunk of your power in it? Idk #Anywayy_yyyys #Void decided to do some trickster shit and tried to absorb me for my power and become a god recently.#So I was like ''ok no more chances bitch'' and finally reduced her to a basically mortal form and banished her #To some random dimension I probably won't ever go to.#(She's been a problem for yeeeeaaaarrrrsss but we were occasionally chill so I didn't wanna do it but y'know.)#We even kinda accidentally had a magic-baby??? Sorta? There's no better way to explain that one but yeah idk where that chick ran off to #Y'know I refer to void as she mostly but she's kinda just whatever she wants to be in the moment. Fucking chaos incarcerate #Her original job was absorbing forgotten ideas. Are there any posts of mine that you consider to be "essential" or "signature" gbunny content?

I've been thinking about queueing up some gbunny "greatest hits," and I want to make sure I'm not missing any hard hitters. These aren't necessarily my "best" or most "popular" posts (though they are not mutually exclusive), but things that make me think, "Oh, you need to see this to understand the 'lore' of this blog."

I do want to preempt any answers with: "If it's a comic, assume that I'm already gonna add it to the queue." Probably not today, but sometime soon.

#this is something i've been contemplating for a while #i put so much junk in my art tag that it can be hard to find the stuff that's actually worthwhile #i feel like my true signature comic is the 'cute' comic #it probably has the most of what i'm known for in it (pre-NSR)#but i already re-reblogged that one a while back #so i don't wanna add it again so soon so that's the only one that probably won't get into the queue #i'm talking things like:#'buff mizzo'#'the solo!white simp fiasco'#the only problem i have is that a lot of my old art just doesn't hold up and it'll be weird to have 'em at the face of my blog for a bit #but i guess i can queue older stuff first and more recent stuff last so the jump isn't as jarring #in other news: we brought my dad back home today #he was heavier than i thought he'd be #we'll probs scatter him in august
